Nice was crazy expensive. We found this hotel though. We paid 400 for 4 nights. This hotel is on the tram line. Big room and get a balcony. Supermarkets within 2 mins walk. Its not on the promenade or in the old town . 1.50 EUR on the tram and 10 mins later I'm right in the tourist area. It was sooo hot and the room had good air con. No complaints with this hotel. Wish they had a fridge in room but bough ice in local market.

Check-in: we had a little trouble finding the place by car, but that was the car gps fault. Once we arrived we were shown straight into the car park, unload and then do the paperwork to check in. Quick and easy, and given tourist maps, etc. a little strange though was I was asked to pay for the first night inc taxes and parking (4 night stay).
Lift: yes, from car park to all floors.
Room: modern and spacious. We had a high floor away from the street and this was very quiet. Also had a small balcony which was nice.
Bathroom: large and spacious. The shower did not have a screen though and even being careful, most of the bathroom ended up wet (possibly for disabled guests as the toilet had extra hand rails, etc).
Bed: queen size. Very comfortable.
Comfort: in room safe. Air conditioning with controls. Electronic keys. Tv but no English channels.
Breakfast: we only paid €1 p/person for breakfast so was good value but disappointing for us. Passteries were very average (in France!), cereal, yoghurt, fruit salad, bread, cheese, 1 cold meat. Juice and coffee.
Wifi: yes, everywhere. Quick and free. Voucher system which was slightly annoying.
Parking: yes, on site. €8 p/day. Unlimited re-entry with room key.
Travel to tourist spots: tram stop is located 2 blocks away, 5min. These are very clean, efficient, regular and cheap €1 per trip. it made stops close to all the tourist spots, within 10min (old town). Note: there is nowhere to eat around the hotel at night.
Checkout: quick and easy, paid the remaining 3 nights and charges and was allowed to leave the car for another 20min so we could go to the supermarket.
Extras: reception were very helpful with suggestions what to do when it rained 1 morning, finding movie sessions in English and times without being asked. Also helped us book moulin rouge tickets for Paris. No review of this hotel would be complete without mentioning the supermarket around the corner. Full size with all products, very cheap and an amazing bakery - just outside near the checkouts!

The Esatitude exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. There is nothing about this hotel that is not fabulous. I stayed there for 12 nights in a twin room at a bargain rate that included breakfast. The room was large, modern, very bright and super clean. The beds are super comfortable and I slept like a baby. I had a room that faced the street side of the hotel but found absolutely no problem with street noise. Additionally, all rooms in the hotel have a balcony. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful (with the exception of one somewhat older woman who was okay, but didn't go out of her way to be friendly). Most of the desk people spoke English to some degree (Maikke, in particular, was superb in English and every other way!) A lovely breakfast, consisting of cereal, bread, yogurts, cheese, fresh fruit, and biscuits was served in the beautiful hotel restaurant. The one thing I'd like to see added to the breakfast would be some kind of ham or other meat. There was also a coffe machine that made excellent strong coffee. One day, I had the 9.50 Euro prix fixe lunch in the hotel restaurant and enjoyed it very much. The hotel housekeeping staff is also efficient, friendly and accomodating.

The Esatitude is located in the quiet residential St. Roch area and personally, I just loved it (so nice to be away from the madding crowds). The tram is two blocks away and literally a 3-4 minute walk. The ride to the Old City and the water 10 minutes. The tram runs quite frequently and I took advantage of the unlimited 7 Day Pass. There is a nice supermarket at the corner and many small stores in the immediate vicinity (pharmacies, bakeries, cafes, etc.)

All in all, the Esatitude is just about the best hotel deal going in Nice and I highly recommend it. There is a great vibe there that makes you feel right at home and eager to come back.

We wanted a cheap and convenient hotel for Nice and this was it! We booked in to their carpark underneath the hotel which was very secure and worth 8Euros a night to keep it there while we used public transport. Driving round Nice and Monaco was horrible for us after being used to quiet French country roads on the way there so being able to dump the car for a day or two was great.

This hotel was exactly what we needed. A large room with a nice bathroom and great air conditioning - which we were so relieved to have as it was very hot and humid when we went. We were on the top floor with a balcony which was useful as I was actually able to hand wash some clothes and hang them outside to dry - which they did very quickly due to the heat.

The room was nice and quiet considering we were looking out on to a road and considering how busy Nice's traffic is, we both had great nights sleep.

The staff were friendly and helpful, checking us in and out with no fuss. The hotel is around a 5 min walk from a tram stop and very close to main roads so however you get there it's easy to access. 5-10 mins on the tram takes you to Nice's main centre of restaurants and the seafront.

It took us a long time to find this hotel, away from the center. Secure parking inside ($8/nite), room is spacious, but could be noisy, on a busy street. Room is clean, wifi is free and easy access w/password from front desk. A small balcony with 2 chairs and table. Nice shower, and very clean. Fairly new hotel. Very modern decor. Breakfast is very good. Fresh fruit, baked goods, cereals, eggs, meats, cheese, etc., and is rather inexpensive. All in all, once you find it, it is a good place to stay if you don't want to be in the downtown, busy area of Nice.
They need to have another waste basket in the room. Beds are comfy, tv, but without English speaking stations. We liked the fact that the car was parked inside and safe at night. The front door is always locked which I thought was a good safety issue. Quite a walk for a restaurant, so eat before you are in for the night. All personnel were very accomodating.

Nice is expensive for hotels and I spent ages trying to find the best value option for 6 of us.This hotel is good value and i feel with a few modifications it could be excellent.
The drive from the airport took about 20 mins, the entrance to the car park is directly to the right of the reception, a big white door that you need a code to get in to from reception. The car park is plenty big enough and I never saw it more than half full. I had a Ford Galaxy and managed to manoeuvre fine. Parking is €8 a night which is reasonable.
Check in was fine and the receptionist spoke good English, payment was required at check in.
We had two triple rooms and these were bright, clean and spacious. The shower was good and we never had a problem with hot water. The toilet is in its own room. Our rooms were on the road side facing the roundabout so there was some traffic noise even with the windows shut, however I've never been in a hotel where the corridors are so quiet not once did I hear a door slam or people talking late at night.
There is no kettle in the room which I knew about and brought a travel one with me, there's nowhere to get a cup of coffee/tea in the hotel and this is one thing which could be improved on. We did come across a vending machine on the first floor selling crisps, chocolate, juice etc, this floor seems to be for meetings/functions etc.
The breakfast area out the back is nice, breakfast is ok though it is exactly the same every day, a little variety would have been nice. We encountered a couple of breakfast staff, one was ok but the other quite grumpy and we got told off for making a mistake with the coffee machine.
There is also a terrace area out the back but this seems to be just open in the afternoon, which I feel is such a waste as this would be an ideal place for a group to sit and enjoy a bottle of wine in the evening.
Getting to the tram is a doddle, right out of reception, take an immediate right, straight over the first crossroad then it's just to the right of the next crossroad. It takes 5-10 walk to get there and tickets are available to buy at the stop (coins and cards only) €1.50 for a single journey or €10 is better value for 10 journeys which can be used with groups (just validate it several times in the machine on the tram). The old town is about 15 min by tram.
The little supermarket across the road is a good stop for stocking up on snacks for the day with cheap sandwiches, fruit, water etc.
It took about 25 mins to drive to Monaco from here and about 45 mins to Cannes, just make sure you avoid travelling to/from these places in rush hour as the journey back from Cannes took us nearly 2 hours when we left there at 4.30pm
I would stay here again and it's a good choice if you're out and about most of the time and just need a base to sleep, shower and have breakfast.

We stayed 2 nights in summer during our tour in Cot d'Azur and Provence
If you have a car the hotel has good location, also public transport ( tramway) to the city centre is very close, secure private parking, The hotel has a modern design, rooms very spacious large bathroom, and balcony with view on the mountain ( in our room). because we speak well French did not have any particular problem with staff
If you compare the benefits to the price of the room is a very good rate for Nice

We stayed 3 nights at Esatitude hotel during our tour in Cot d'Azur.
We were travelling by car and even we had a GPS, it was a little bit difficult to find it.
The hotel is new, the room was spacious, clean, nice decorated with a big bathroom with shower and a very comfortable bed.
Distance from the tram station is 10 minutes on foot and from there it takes 4-5 stops to the Nice city centre. It was convinient for us. The only thing was, that upon our return in the night the road was isolated and was a bit scary.

We stayed for 4 nights in July. The hotel room was clean, well maintained with good and simple to adjust air conditioning. The room had a balcony with table and chairs. The nearest equivalent in the UK is a good Premier Inn. You can either have room only at about €75 or B&B for €83 per room for 2, the latter option provides good value, for the breakfast is a buffet with all the usual continental breakfast items. The staff are helpful and pleasant. The hotel is in an outer district of Nice, so if you want to be in the thick of the action then this is not the hotel for you. However it is just a 5 minutes walk from tram stop Virgile Barel and the trams are very regular, during the day every 4/5 minutes and in the evening every 15/20 minutes, it takes approx 15 minutes on the tram to the city centre. If coming from the airport take the bus no 98 to Cathedral Vieux Vielle interchange with tram and then tram to hotel. If you are likely to use the tram/buses more than 10 journeys then suggest buy a 7 day ticket for €15. Airport bus (98) is not covered by 7 day ticket and is extra at €6.
If you are arriving by car then the hotel has a garage at a reasonable rate.
The only downside with the hotel is that it is by a busy small roundabout so it can be noisy in the bedroom.

This is a great little hotel which would suit anyone, but if like us you are wanting someone secure to park your car and then forget about it,then this is the place. Our triple room was extremely spacious with a large bathroom and balcony, which was very clean and brightly decorated. Beds were comfy, air con worked well and parking was 8 euros per day, which was the cheapest by a long way when I was looking at options.
As mentioned previously, the tram is just a few mins walk away and there is a supermarket and bakery really close by as well. Nice is a great city and is also the perfect base to explore Cannes and Monaco, which were 20-30mins by train. We really liked this hotel and didn't mind being out of the city a bit.
One thing to mention is to be very aware of pickpockets on the trams, especially as they get very crammed and make it really easy for them. My Dad was pickpocketed twice, but luckily he only had a notebook in the pocket they got into and they didn't value that at all and just dumped it on the floor - which is how we discovered it happened the first time. The second time was only a bit later, and he was more aware but had to move his hand from his pockets to hold on to the rail and then they struck again! They only got the zip open before he noticed and swiped their hand away. It was a group of young girls that were doing it and their distraction technique was to make a fuss about people pushing.

From the airport you take shuttle bus 98 or 99 to the city center, and then when you arrive you take the tram (only one line for the moment) and stop at "VIRGIL BARREL". The hotel is at 5 minutes by walk from the tram stop.
