I stayed here for two nights and would have no hesitation in recommending this gem of a hotel! The staff were so friendly and helpful. I arrived a few hours early and as my room was ready, I was able to check in straightaway. The complimentary bottles of cold water were much appreciated in the July/August heat! There is also a lift if you don’t fancy taking the stairs.

The room was small but this was not an issue for me. The bed was so comfortable and there were tea and coffee facilities and a hairdryer in the room. The room was cleaned and towels were replaced each day. The location, Rue Andrioli, is very quiet and felt safe and is only a short walk from the Promenade des Anglais. It is also only a 5 - 10 minutes walk from the Alsace-Lorraine tram station which is only one stop from the Jean Medecin tram stop (the main shopping street in Nice).

I would also recommend the breakfast and there was plenty of choice. I particularly enjoyed the absolutely delicious scrambled egg! If you prefer to eat elsewhere, there are plenty of shops and cafes in the vicinity.

When I was checking out, I was able to leave my luggage knowing it would be safe. I also had a lovely chat with the manager Patrick.

I will definitely stay here again the next time I’m in Nice. Merci beaucoup Hotel L’Alcove!

Excellent, small 3-star hotel. Location is perfect, 5 minute walk to beach and 25 minute walk to the old town. Street outside is very quiet. The room was small but finished to a high standard and impeccably clean. The staff were excellent, very friendly and always eager to help or accomodate any requests. Myself and my girlfriend had just reached the end of our bicycle tour which began in Freiburg, Germany and we had 4 days to spend relaxing by the coast. We were going to lock our bicycles outside the hotel but the staff insisted we bring them inside telling us it was too dangerous to leave them out. They didnt have a lot of space for the bikes inside but they did their best to accomodate them and the gesture was very much appreciated. Would highly recommend this hotel to future travellers.

I spent 5 nights on a solo trip in the hotel.
The staff was very friendly, the room was small but absolutely enough for one person. Only the walls and doors were quite thin. The hotel doesn’t look modern from the outside but it is quite modern from the inside! There was an electric water boiler for tea or coffee in the room as well.
The bus stop was not far away from the hotel, from where the airport and other destinations could easily be reached. Also the train station can be reached by foot (approx 1.4 km) from where trains to Monte Carlo, Cannes and other destinations leave.
I’m definitely going to come back to this hotel one day, I had a great vacation here!

This was an absolutely lovely hotel. It was perfectly located to the sea front and walking distance to lots of cafes , restaurants and old town Nice.
The staff at this hotel were so welcoming, considerate and accommodating throughout, they stored our luggage before the rooms were ready and gave us lots of tips of places to see etc.
the room was great, clean comfortable with pleasant decor.
The price we paid for our mini break was excellent Value for money. Would definitely return to this little gem !

This is Europe, old buildings, smaller rooms.. and this what we like about it.. The hotel was renovated in 2018.It is small, 24 rooms,on a peaceful street. It is the first hotel that we were able to sleep late, because there were no slaming doors,no vacuum cleanesr at 6.am( the hotel being spotless, they found decent hours to do their job)no endless cars and motorcycles in the street.I travelled w/my daughter and she takes all the bed. When booking I could not find a room w/2 beds, but Pierre, the manger solve our problem promptly and I was sooooo gratefull. The breakfast was good w/plenty of choices. Room very clean and in good taste, the shower spotless. We had it all and we enjoyed our choice. The hotel is very close to the Promenade, close to the old city,l;ess than 30 minute walk, and we were there for walking and strolling.I will make it a tradition to stay here,we love Nice and this hotel.Thank YOU Pierre and eveybody else.Bus 12 takes you in 20 min to the airport and it is at the end of the street

This is a nice comfortable hotel in a great location with a lot of cafes and restaurants around it, even several laundromats. I never tried the breakfast there as there are cafes everywhere. It is a short walk into the center of Nice.

When I arrived at the hotel the room that I thought I had reserved was not available. It seems there is a discrepancy between the website and what you get. I was pleased with the room that I had but it was on the first floor and I had paid extra to be on the top floor. All they did was apologize.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we are very happy that you appreciated the hotel and its location. Regarding the supplement you paid to be on the top floor is an error from the agency with which you have booked. When a client asks us to have a room on the top floor, we do so for free if there is space. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again. Cordially, Clément

Great place, just a few steps from beach. Front desk host was very friendly and accommodating. Wish I would have gotten her name. She went out of her way to make us feel at home. Owner/manager was front and center. Hotel is being renovated, but didn’t bother our stay in any way. Rooms are small, yet very modern and comfortable & clean. A hidden gem!
