A heartfelt thank you to Véronique and Eliane, my caring hosts at Hotel Les Cigales — my home away from home — for a phenomenal week in Nice. From sending me regular updates about the pandemic in France to printing out my antigen test results so I could return to the U.S., they really looked out for me. No wonder it was my fourth stay.

The hotel is ideally situated a few blocks from the Promenade des Anglais, and the entire staff (Roberto and Demetrius) is pleasant and attentive. I can see why the hotel, which has been recently renovated, has a loyal following of regular guests. I can’t wait to return. À la prochaine!

We loved this hotel. A group of friends gathered here in advance of doing a retreat in Provence. We all had rooms in this hotel and found it central and convenient. They were very helpful with all our transportation and restaurant reservation needs. The hotel is in a charming and quiet area easy walking distance to the sea and the Old Town. The rooms were comfortable, clean and fresh. Highly recommended!

What a great surprise this lovely hotel is. I didn't book Hotel Les Cigales, I used a company and they picked it, and I'm so glad that they did. Location is amazing and so close to Promenade Des Anglais.

I stayed in the lovely Double Superior room, which I didn't expect. The bed was super comfortable, the rain shower was perfect. It was very interesting to watch tv in french, since I don't speak the language and didn't quite appreciate what a lovely language it is.

Thank you for making my birthday feel special, I wasn't disappointed and if I ever visit Nice again, I would happily stay at Hotel Les Cigales.

This hotel is in a fantastic location and is the best thing about it.

We had asked for a quiet room on a high floor with a nice view.

The room that we were given was on a high floor with noisy neighbours and a window that was too high up to see out of. The room was dark with not much headspace above the bed. There was a sofa bed in the room also which would obviously be good if you needed 3 people to stay in the room.

The bathroom was painted in a dark red colour which just made the room feel quite oppressive. The shower leaked quite a bit onto the bathroom floor which was frustrating.

Breakfast was not impressive. There were only a few tables in the breakfast room and there really was not a lot of choice for breakfast.

Given that we were only there for 1 night, the room was adequate for our needs but we would probably not stay there again.

For the life of me, I cannot understand how this hotel received so many good ratings. I’ll give you that it was clean enough, sort of well-located and the staff was friendly—when you could find them. Given the reviews stating how small the rooms were, we booked a superior double with the understanding it would be a larger room. Well, the floor area of the room was large but one literally could not stand up in half the room because of the sloped ceilings. Heads were bumped and headaches ensued. The bathroom had no place to put toiletries, no ventilation (ugh!) and threadbare towels. The room was dark and dingy. The windows were 7 feet off the ground and one was unable to see out. The elevator was broken for the entire length of our stay, supposedly because of a part on order. This required a trek up the stairs to the 3rd floor. While the exercise was good, that wasn’t the deal. Frankly, this place was pricey, depressing and we hated our stay there.

Enjoyed our time in Nice, Hotel is perfectly located, the room my daughter and myself stayed in was tiny and very dark, with hardly any hanging space and no drawers to put anything away, hence for the 4 nights there we didn't unpack our cases. Shower was good and on the whole clean. Had breakfast one day, thought it was poor. Staff were fine, not sure we would stay here again.

Our room had unfortunately, no real window, just a porthole way up, so no view and could not really open, Completely different than on the pictures. Air con too loud, so very hot. Very unpleasant talk with manager unwilling to find an acceptable solution. Worst stay in France out of two nice weeks. And for this very expensive

I didn't get to this hotel my flight was cancelled. Rung the hotel to ask could we arrive the next day instead they said no, and they can't do that it is not their problem our flight was cancelled. Glad I know that this will be one place I won't recommend or visit on my regular trips to France.

The hotel is very basic, however the staff was very nice and helpful. There was no coffee in the room and no iron in the room. Room and Bathroom needs brighter lighting. Clean but small rooms. If you are using this just as a place to sleep it’s not bad

My wife and I stayed three nights at Hotel Les Cigales. Very nice hotel with a short 10 minute walk from the train station. We were in Room 14. At check Elaine provided us with a map of the area and directions to the local sights. She escorted us to our room and showed the layout. Our room was spacious with a large bed and bathroom with walk in shower. There is air conditioning if you need it. The hotel is about an 8 minute walk to the beach and promenade des Anglais. We would recommend this hotel to others and will stay here if in Nice again

Hi, They have two rooms on the ground floor. the one that we had is a smallish double. The other is probably a similar size. Maybe both rooms would suit you? There is certainly no space for an extra bed. There is a window looking into an inner courtyard/greenspace. It is quiet, too.
Answer from AXELLE C
Nice
