I liked: The hotel is located close to the main train station. The check-in process was fast, and everything was according to my reservation, payment had been done in advanced. I got room No 326, and it was fine, a narrow space though. The bed was comfortable enough for a good sleep. No annoying noise from the street at night helped to relax. Wide flat screen TV set with several channels (all in French language), good signal, and it was possible to connect my USB memory to play movies. Safe box very useful. Air conditioned available. Three electrical sockets in the room. Wi-fi signal was not supposed to function in the room, but the signal got there sometimes. Bathroom was ok, in order and clean, perhaps the towels looked already old. Hair dryer available. Soap provided, though no shampoo. Tiny shower space. Elevator available in site. I did not have breakfast in the hotel, but I got food from the markets nearby for this purpose. Service in general was good. Staff spoke english, and Thomas particularly spoke Spanish. There are markets and restaurants in the neighborhood. Tram and bus stations are close, too. But walking downtown was not the big deal. Being so close to the train station allowed me to move easy with my luggage to the bus stop located right in front of the station, and get the bus line No 99 to the Nice airport, very helpful thing.
I did not like: No fridge or minibar in the room.

Fair accomodation, no internet available, tiny bahtroom, a little bit noisy over the night when people are walking by. Very close to the train station which is a big plus. The position of the hotel is very good as it is in the city center. Overall, fair hotel, fair price.

We stopped here, great hotel as a hub, train station only a couple of minutes away, and most of the sights, within walking distance. Staff friendly, easy check in, we were on the 4th floor, unfortunately with no views from the window. Bed ok, sleep ok, bathroom good. Note if breakfast required, you have to book this, the night before. We would stop again.

We had a fantastic stay here in November 2019. After some of the reviews we read, we were a bit worried, but we did not see these bad reviews as a true reflection based on our visit. We were in room 107. Clean and comfortable, best nights sleep we have had in a long while. We stayed for 4 nights, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is very close to everything you could want. The breakfast was included in our price And we could not complain. It was typically French, the coffee was okay, and plenty of pastries, toast and cereal. I can understand people saying the area feels a bit rough of am evening, but we never had any bother, it's just the same as walking through a city at night. We loved our time in Nice and when we return we will be booking this hotel again.

Room small as to be expected. Bed awful - saggy in two directions.
We were leaving early, so asked for fruit/something for breakfast to be either available the night befor eor left with reception - nothing provided (we had paid for breakfast).
We were promised a wake up call - which didn't happen so we almost missed our train. They seemed surprised that we were cross about this.
The two stars are for a good shower. The rest was just horrible. Oh, and we didn't use it but a lot of people's bags were left unattended in the lobby "store" every time we went in and out.

This was a good hotel that we booked for our stay while visiting Monaco (Monte Carlo). Being close to the station it was easy to walk and catch a train to Monaco.

Enjoyed the stay and the hospitality from the front desk

Hotel Trocadero is a 3-minute walk from the train station, very easy to find. The surrounding area is rather gloomy, not much scenery and a few "adult" stores with neon signs, but not in a frightening way. We walked at night and were not scared in the least bit. A 15-minute walk from the beach and Vieux Nice. There are 4 or 5 floors, but there is an elevator big enough to fit two people and their luggage. Staff is quite proficient in English. You have to leave your key at the desk whenever you go out. We stayed in early 2005 and the hotel had been recently renovated - we could still smell the paint in some hallways. Our room was HUGE - I think it was actually supposed to be a triple or maybe a quadruple room, although it only had two beds. No table or chairs. Very warm during the winter, which is a good thing. Tiny balconies in the bedroom and bathroom to step out onto (although we did not have a very good view). Bathroom was GIANT. Beautiful floor and wall tiles, extremely clean. Bathtub with no shower curtain. So nice, we took a picture of it! Very clean hotel, convenient location, friendly staff. Highly recommended!

Hotel trocadero much be one of the cheapest Hotels in Nice, But what matters most is the fact that it is a good geniune Hotel that offers exellent value for money, this hotel turned out to be better than what I expected considering the small amount of money I payed for it.
There are 3 staff that do shifts throughout the day, Firstly the dayshift woman is helpful and polite, the manager person is also helpful, but the man who does the night shifts offers terrible service, he does not speak to you unless he is spoken to and is often not at the reception counter, which added to our fustration as someone had to be there to give you your key which had to be handed in every time you left the hotel.
The rooms are of a good size and get cleaned daily with a bathroom attached to it, there are also several tiny balconys in the wall of the rooms. There is also an old lift which I was suprised that worked.
Although there is alot of noise that comes from the streets as late at 4am, You will need to be carefull with your belongings as my freind had his shoes stolen (probaby by a tramp), so keep your stuff safe, moped's can also be fustrating as we got the impression that they were just driving around for fun. Ill warn you that the beach isn't 5mins away but a good walk of 10-15mins.
I would summarise my stay at Trocadero as a stay in which I can bring out more positives than negatives !!!!!

This hotel is the most legendary that i've ever stayed in. Some of these other reviews seem to suggest to the reader that there's nothing special about TROCADERO but there is!!
Take the nightshift man for example, when you go up to him he seems grumpy but when you enquire about how he cooks his fish or, where something is in the city then he's very helpful. He can also give you a good betting tip if you want, he's famous for getting them right every time!! The other staff are very friendly and this is probably because there is a very nice manager who runs the hotel.
Its very close to the train and bus station, and also a main road which has lots of different shops and restauarants. The immediate area around the hotel has many restaurants, however there are also a few adult stores in the area but they are well concealed.
The city of Nice is very beautiful and, contrary to the Trocadero its also very expensive. Me and my friends were finding ourselves paying up to 6 euros for a pint! After a bit one of us decided to become a tramp for a night to see what it would be like to spend no money for a whole night in Nice, by the end of it he had no shoes because he gave them away to a real tramp who had given him some broth. The nightclubs are few and far between, one of the best places to go is Waynes bar because it provides a great atmosphere. Its also quite nice just to take a walk down the promenade because you can meet people along it and it also has a lively atmosphere at night.
The breakfasts are simple but very good for the 4 euros that you pay for them, the rooms are very comfortable and come with an efficient fan. On the website it says that its about a five minute walk from the beach but its actually about ten minutes, this walk is a very nice one though through a quiet part of the city. The hotel is the cheapest I could find in Nice, but in this case cheap doesn't equal bad like some hotels might, because the Trocadero is great value for money. I would strongly advise you to stay here because it means that along with seeing a great city you have an amazing experience at the hotel you're at.

Hi, does this hotel have the facility to store luggage please? We are considering booking but have a late flight home. Thank you.
Answer from mikalius2018
London, United Kingdom12 contributions17 helpful votes
They have a room next to the lobby where luggage can be left, however it is not 100% secure as it is a joining room which is completely open. It is hard to explain but it’s basically at your own risk. Hope that helped in some way!
