Great value hotel for a night or two. The staff are excellent whether on the phone or at reception. It is located near Garibaldi square. Minutes to the old town and close to the beach. It is also very close to tramways going to the train station and the airport.
We asked for a quiet room towards the courtyard and it was extremely quiet. There is air conditioning in the room but we preferred to keep the windows open which from the 7th floor gave us fresh air and a great view over the back of Nice and the hills.
The bed is comfortable and the room and bathroom clean.
Yes the room is very small especially with large luggage, but we could make it work.
It was by far the cheapest and most convenient hotel available.
It has a small kettle but no fridge.
The reception is manned 24/7. You can leave luggage at the hotel before check in and after check out. And check out time is very good at 12noon given the check out times for most accommodation is 10am. Check in was 3pm.
Would recommend for a short stay, especially if you have an international flight out if Nice.

We stayed at this hotel last May-2004-and were very pleased with it.
Very clean, very convenient to local shopping, bus station, the port.the Promenade, art galleries etc.
The buffet breakfast restaurant is exceptional and the staff friendly.
Rooms are compact (small) but have everything you need.
We have used this hotel in Alicante as well,it is much bigger than Nice with a full restaurant which served me up the best T bone steak I have had in a long time!

Peter.

We had a lovely stay at Campanile Acropolis, and will definitely consider again the next time we visit Nice. From the start we received a warm welcome from the staff at check-in, and we were given a good sized room that was clean and tidy and had everything you need. The staff were very friendly so I'm sure they would be happy to help with anything you need that wasn't already in the room. We faced the front but unlike other reviewers didn't see that as a problem. When the windows were closed you could barely hear anything, and the air conditioning was good enough to not need them open. Great value for money, and good quality for the price. Would recommend to anyone wanting to be near old town but with good transport links to elsewhere.

This is a great budget hotel in Nice.
I stayed here 5 nights in June 2005. If you're here on business and attending the Acropolis Centre, it's a perfect location - it is so close you can see the acropolis from the the hotel.

Also the hotel is in a great location for the museum of modern and contemporary art, also other art galleries which I can't remember.
Vieux Nice (Old Town) is certainly the most interesting part of nice, with its little winding maze of streets, tonnes of little boutiques etc. The Campanile Acropolis is in a superb location for walking to the old town. You can walk to the Cours Saleya (excellent for market stalls and restaurants/bars) in about 10/15 minutes, and that's walking very slowly (as everyone seems to in the city). Then the beach is just a few steps further.

The hotel is tremendously clean with courteous staff. I asked for a double room for single occupancy but was given a triple room - loads of space to spread out! The bathrooms are excellent, clean and functional, the shower was powerful and a few toiletries and fresh towels were replaced daily. There was only one power socket that I could find in my room but this was fine for my stay. Oh, and there was a bath with overhead shower in the bathroom, the bath was a very welcome surprise in a hotel room. There was also a decent amount of clothes hanging space and coat-hangers.#

The air conditioning was very welcome and worked well.

Do not expect to get a hairdryer if the hotel is busy!! I asked every day to find they had all been loaned out already. I wonder how many there are...

My room was 307 and I have attached photos to this review. Sorry about the mess in my room!!!!

Breakfast at 7 euros was not bad value as there was plenty of choice. (cold meats and cheeses, french pastries, breads, jams, eggs (ready boiled or cook-your-own), toaster, orange juice, coffees and selecyion of teas, fruit and yoghurts...)

Overall I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Nice for business or pleasure.
It is very clean and good value for money. The loaction is great too.

The city is undergoing extensive roadworks at the moment (building a tramline i think) so you need to leave extra time to get from the hotel to the airport and the taxis seem to find the route rather difficult.

Just got back from one week stay during mid July at this hotel. I booked on laterooms.com for 59 Euros a night. We were in room 105, which direcly faced the highway. (If you don't like noise, ask for something that doesn't face the highway). While I was thrilled to be paying this low for a decent room, it was definitely noisy and had the motel feel to it of slamming doors waking you up at all hours of the day and night and drunk guests coming in at all sorts of hours of the morning and making noise (maybe the stag party in the previous post...lol). In other words, 2* hotels sometimes draw 2* clients... don't hesitate to complain to the front desk though. They resolved the problem for us. My room was the same as the photos in the previous posting. Don't get me wrong, the same room goes for twice as much on the strip by the beach, so I'm happy. As the previous poster replied, having the bus station (gare rotiere) about a 3 minute walk away made things very nice - especially for day tripping to antibes and monaco. Forget about renting a car with this hotel. There is no free parking, and the pay parking is outrageous - like 25 euros a day.

While the old Nice restaurants

positives - location - 10 minute walk to the beach, - air conditioning - very good when a heat wave hits like it did for us, very friendly staff (maids, service desk, etc), english speaking service desk, good maid cleaning every day - fresh towels, etc. Free coffee and tee

negatives - 2* motel feel - slaming doors, noisy guests, etc. Generally did not get good sleep. one of two beds was lumpy and uncomfortable.

All in all, definitely would recommend. Get a room away from the noisy highway though if you are sensitive to sounds and noise.

I have just returned from 5 nights in Nice. Myself and 7 others (all male - it was a Stag weekend!) stayed at the Campanile Hotel in Boulevard Risso (next to the Acropolis Exhibition Centre). We only paid 69 Euros per room per night (on their website) and found the hotel to be very clean and very friendly. The rooms were small but were very well presented. The shower was very good (always a plus!) and there were clean towels 7 days a week. The buffet breakfast is excellent for only 7 euros - you can even juice your own oranges from a large basket of them on the breakfast table!
It is only 10 minutes walk to the Cours Saleya and the sea front.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for a MID BUDGET hotel

I got a cheap last minute city break to Nice and stayed in this hotel for four nights. I would definitely return to this hotel if I was visiting Nice again. The staff were ok, always willing to help with any directions or questions we had. The room itself was very modern and clean. I had read previous reviews before travelling which said how small the rooms were so I wasn't shocked when I got there. Although the rooms are small it has everything needed for a few nights. The room was cleaned everyday and bathroom supplies topped up. The doors at reception closed at night and you have to ring a bell to get in which gave a feel of security.
The hotel is very central to all Nice has to offer. The old town is no more than 10 minutes walk. The promenade and park are about 15 to 20 minutes walk. The number 98 bus is one block away which takes you to and from the airport for €6 each way. The tram service is great and is 1.50 each time. We took the tram from the hotel to the train station to travel to Cannes for a day trip which was €7 each way. We also took the public bus (number 100) which leaves from the port to Monaco for 1.50 each way. Amazing scenery along the way (make sure you sit on the right hand side of the bus).
We didn't have breakfast in the hotel so can't comment on that.
Overall a lovely stay.

Stayed 2 nights wife my wife in Oct. Caught the No. 96 bus from Nice airport to its final stop at the bus terminal ( 4 euro each). From there 3 minute walk to hotel (head towards the acropolis if your not sure which direction to go ) Check in very easy - very helpful young lady Marie provided maps and lots of good advice.
Room clean, qiite and reasonable size. Lift available. Breakfast was good. Easy 5 - 10 minute walk thru old city down to the beautiful (but pebbly) beach. Lots of great restaurants within old city. Good value for money at a handy location.

My mom, brother and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. It was small, but clean. The staff spoke english and were very helpful. The wifi was reliable, and the hotel was very close to the boardwalk and all sorts of shops. Also they have a locked closet where you can hold your bags before check in, and after check out so you don't have to carry them. The closet was always locked and always could always be seen by the people at the front desk.
