We had a fantastic stay in this B &B. The rooms were beautifully decorated with air condition+ WiFi and we slept really well in very comfortable beds. Delicious breakfasts were served every morning on the terrace by Nathalie who was a very attentive and charming host. The view was spectacular and it was only a 15 min drive to Nice from there.
Both Nathalie and her husband Gerard spoke very good English and were able to recommend some very good restaurants in the neighbourhood. The swimming pool was kept very clean and there was an open kitchen area where you could store food/drinks in the fridge and use cutlery and plates.
Good attention was kept using sanitiser spray to avoid any spread of infection.
We would recommend this place to anyone who wants a relaxing stay in a beautiful part of Nice.

Nathalie and Gerard were perfect hosts. Their place is incredibly gorgeous. We used their place as our home base— we rented a car and visited several small villages over a few days. N+G gave us great recommendations and their advice was invaluable. The views were second only to the breakfast that was prepared for us each morning. We were the only guests for the week so we had our hosts full attention and we had great conversation. We will remember it always! It is also clear that N+G are very well travelled and have excellent taste. This is important to me when a place is described as “luxury” as sometimes it can be deceiving when in Europe. I would recommend villa Kilauea to the most discerning travelers. Happy to report this place lived up to all the reviews I read and in fact exceeded my expectations in many ways! Merci Nathalie et Gérard!

This is a lovely B&B about 35 minutes North of Nice.  My wife and I spent 5 nights there over Easter and Nathalie and Gerard were very warm hosts.  The rooms are simple and elegant in their decoration and appear to reflect their love of travel in SE Asia.  Nathalie is obviously an excellent cook because she would provide some new culinary addition to the standard continental fare at breakfast,

The photographs on the website accurately depict how lovely the view is from the swimming pool area.  They have recently installed a jacuzzi which is wonderful.  I stupidly went in the tub covering my pasty white Northern skin with sun block only to leave a horrible layer of scum for my hosts (and fellow guests) the next day.  The jacuzzi had to be emptied but embarrassed as we were, Nathalie dealt with my stupidity tactfully and sensitively.    We were also big fans of their English sheepdog called "Bree" and from time to time Gerard would generously offer us a glass of their chilled home made wine..
If you followed the sat nav guidance, the hairpin bends and speedy oncoming traffic are daunting to say the least. Follow Nathalie's directions on the website and ignore the sat nav!
Its a great place but it isn't cheap but then little is on the Cote d'Azur.  Some of Nathalie's restaurant recommendations were a just little too opulent for my taste.  Try Voyageur Nissart in Nice - near the main train station and in the top 5 in Trip Advisor

We booked for 5 nights & only stayed for 2, lots of issues especially with the host Nathelie, car parking issues, like car being to large & her husband saying one thing & Nathelie saying something else, no cushions on the wooden sun loungers outside the room, we felt that she didn't really like us eating outside our room on the terrace, light hanging off, no hot water to have a bath & the plug didn't seal anyway (there was no shower) cobwebs, & the Poolhouse grill didn't work. The last straw was when we were relaxing having a drink Nathelie came back & asked us to move our car enough was enough & we had to pay an extra night to leave early. Not good enough!

We stayed at this b&b after reading the great reviews....felt we needed to post to share our experience as we don't agree with all that has been said.

The good
Beautiful setting with lovely appointed rooms. Breakfast is all home made and set in the pool house overlooking the gorgeous vally.
The not so good
This b&b is alot further out then what has been posted. By our gps it stated 25mins to Nice and this was taking the most narrow windy road you could imagine so if you take the non direct route it takes a good 30 minutes. All fine during day but of a night roads are very daunting as they are in pitch black. Also buses stop running at 8pm so there is no other way down to Nice and there is nothing else in the area so you must travel to Nice to eat.
On another note Gerald was lovely however Natalie (not sure if a language barrier) can come across as extremely reserved & cool as if you are imposing on her...
May have just been our experience but we have stayed in quite a few B&B's across France & have never had to write such a post!

We spent four nights at Villa Kilauea and had a wonderful time. The location, just 10 minutes outside Nice, was perfect for sightseeing and accessing everything in the area. Nathalie was a wonderful host – she asked what we were interested in then made her recommendations. They were 100% spot on and we had the most wonderful time driving through the villages and taking in the magnificent views, particularly from Gourdon, something we may well have missed if not for Nathalie’s recommendation. Florian, the lolly factory in Pont du Loup, was also a great recommendation and we’re still enjoying the fudge and jellies! Nathalie’s recommendation of Auberge du Redier, just up the road was another winner.
We stayed in the Rose Room, a lovely big area with spacious bathroom and plenty of room to move about. The verandah, with sun lounges, would be magic in warmer weather... such a great touch when the views are so beautiful.
Breakfast in the pool room was a real highlight each morning – I’m addicted to Nespresso! The room is bright and sunny, a perfect way to begin the day.
For those of us who enjoy cities but don’t really want to sleep in one, Villa Kilauea is a perfect choice. So close to everything yet so far away from the hustle bustle of Nice.

My wife and I stayed 5 nighta at this B&B during the last leg of our Europe trip while we visited Nice and the surrounding french riviera. The first and most important point to mention about this property is that you will definitely need to rent a car to access it. It is situated roughly 15 minutes northwest of downtown Nice in the hills overlooking the city. This was not an issue for us as we had always planned to rent a car in Nice anyways so that we could do a couple trips up and down the coast. The B&B itself is very well maintained and felt very secure as there is a gate that must be opened to access the home's driveway and parking area. Nathalie and Gerard were excellent hosts as was their son Matthieu who prepared us wonderful breakfasts everyone morning. We were fed fresh breads, meats, cheeses, loafs, and other sweet treats. There were home made jams every morning with fresh juice and coffee. The property is gorgeous and it's view is of a nearby chapel as part of Château de Bellet which is a local winery and vineyard. There is a small infinity pool and 4 person hot tub as well and it was very romantic in the evening using the hot tub and having champagne with just my wife. Nathalie was very quick to offer local recommendations for food and sight seeing and even booked us a reservation at the nearby vineyard and a dinner spot in downtown Nice. The home has only 4 rooms and we were fortunate enough to have the entire place to ourselves with another pair of guests in one of the other rooms for only our first night. It was really nice to spend the evenings at this property as its much quieter than Nice and the price was definitely fair for everything you get. I'd recommend this B&B to anyone thinking of traveling to Nice.

We chose this place for our honeymoon and we are so glad we did! It is such a peaceful and romantic place to stay. It is a short drive from Nice and all the other nice villages in Cote D'azur. Nathalie and her husband were really welcoming and friendly. We had amazing breakfast every morning, it was delicious with a lot of variety, different types of cheese, fruits, meats, cakes and bread/cake/croissants. We also really enjoyed chilling by the pool on our last day. We definitely recommend this place and we will go back again. I have to mention that they have a lovely dog called Bree! Merci Beaucoup!

This review will "cut to the chase" about this magnificent B&B.
The hosts are warm and welcoming and ensure that your stay is memorable.
The facilities and location are fantastic and you will not be disappointed. Clean and modern!
Agree do not rely on your GPS as there is a better route to take to and from Nice. Gerard (owner) will explain this route and Nice is only 15 mins away.
The hosts recommendations about the best places to eat should not be overlooked.

Villa Kilauea was one of the highlights of our touring holiday around Southern France. (Note: If you are using SatNav/GPS: *don’t* turn off the main road going up into the village Saint Roman; continue until the road divides, with the large church in front of you, and take the left fork.) The bedroom we had was a reasonable size and beautifully appointed. There is a beautiful open-sided garden room leading onto the pool area, where breakfast is served either inside or outside, depending on the weather. The breakfasts were very special, including a home made element. One memorable breakfast included home-made panna cotta with fresh mango! One of the best things I tasted all holiday!! The infinity pool looks out over the hills above Nice and the whole B&B has an air of tranquility - a wonderful contrast to the busyness of Nice’s centre. Nathalie and Gérard are very welcoming hosts and go out of their way to help guests get the most out of their stay. Fully recommended.
