This property provided clean, comfortable, large rooms with the balcony a plus.

There was a small fridge in the room, but it was not very deep, so more for yogurt, cheese and medicines than for bottles of wine or anything large/opened. I could keep some bottles of water in it, on their sides unopened.

It was close to the Tramway, bus, shops, cafes. Musee Beaux des Arts and the beach/Promenade des Anglais.

It had a lovely garden and the toiletries supplied I thought very pleasant.
There was also much-needed air conditioning.

Nicholas greeted all guests with a free bottle of cold water (very much appreciated) and showed you on a map where you were and how to get to places (short cuts for walking, tram and bus stops etc).

I really missed a kettle (there was a coffee pod machine downstairs on a honesty payment system) and hot water in a mini urn in the morning and 6.00pm at night, but it was not the same!

The TV (there was a DVD player also) had just French options, and there were no notes, in English or French, for how to switch to the DVD....

It was a quiet area (which suited me, but possibly not those wanting to roll in very late at night).

It was up a hill/steps, so coming from the tramway to the hotel, with luggage, was a tough ask, so I paid for a taxi when moving luggage.

Rooms 5 and 6 are upstairs and the kitchen is downstairs, so you may want to consider this if stairs are an issue. Photos attached are of room 6

Villa les Cygnes is a real find! The hotel is quiet, superbly clean and very stylish. It is well located for evenings out in Nice either on foot or using the fabulous new tram service. Free parking is a real bonus. Top marks though go to the charming manager, Nicolas, who could not have been more welcoming. He also does a very good breakfast! If we are travelling to Nice again we will definitely be back!

We stayed 5 days in early September at this wonderful boutique hotel in a quiet part of Nice. Hotel is close to many restaurants, shops and of course the promenade. Our flight arrived late in Nice but Nicolas met us at the port and we had a nice and smooth checkin. The room was spacious and clean and bathroom great with all neccessary amenities. Breakfast was served in the charming garden each morning. We really enjoyed everything during our stay at Villa Les Cygnes. Top service from Nicolas.

Charming niche hotel in quiet quarter of Nice by the Musee des Beaux Artes.
Host Nicholas could not be more helpful and accommodating. Nicholas lent us beach towels and umbrellas and told us about heritage weekend so we found entry into places free. Continental breakfast with eggs was served in the small pleasant garden. Very comfortable beds. Well appointed shower room. Cleaning to an extremely high standard. At first we missed a kettle in the room, but there is a small honesty corner in the basement with a coffee machine. We used that only once because the weather was so hot we did not need hot drinks. Good air con in rooms. If we go to Nice again, we will stay here. Thank you Nicholas, we had a great stay and I miss Hotel Villa les Cignes.

Lovely french villa in a really quiet residential area but still only 5 min walk to the promenade des anglais (via short cut thru the museum) & University tram stop. Short walk to supermarket and other bars/restaurants/takeaways. Fantastic cafe by the tram stop serving croissant & coffee for only €2. Nicholas the manager was super helpful & friendly. I must just mention the hotel cat is adorable. The room (#3) was large and clean with mini fridge & AC. If you want English TV I recommend taking your Amazon Firestick to plug in. Sadly no kettle in room So bring your own. Lovely fruit trees in the garden where breakfast is served as an extra. Will definitely return next year. This guesthouse is SO much better than a large dull noisy 5 star hotel in the center of noisy Nice.

We stayed here 12 years ago on our honeymoon and decided to visit the area again as we were back in Nice. Even though we hadn’t rang ahead, the new owner took the time to meet with us and showed us around the building which was still as charming as it was back then. Merci encore - it was lovely to be able to show our daughter 🙏🏻

Unfortunately, I cannot rate this hotel due to the fact we booked to stay here in September but our reservation was lost. To say the least our experience with Villa Les Cygnes was awful! We reserved four rooms for in September, looking forward to our first trip to France. Shortly after booking these rooms our plans changed a little and I immediately contacted Villa Les Cygnes to change our reservation to alternate dates and to only three rooms. They replied very promptly that the dates were available and they would change my reservation, I replied and assumed we were all set for our new dates. Never assume anything! I heard nothing from these people until while checking my email the day before we arrived in Nice I had received a email stating we had missed our reservation dates....completely confused I replied that there must have been a mistake we had changed our dates and to please confirm that we still had our reservation for the new dates. The next day, while en-route to Nice from Provence, we stopped to check my email again, only to find out they never changed our dates and had now charged my credit card for four nights claiming we never confirmed our new dates with them! So, thank you Villa Les Cygnes for leaving five people with no place to stay! As well as many months of battling it out with my credit card....which by the way they sided with me!

The Villa Les Cygnes is not a hotel, but rather a B&B, which we usually don't enjoy because of the forced social interaction. We arrived late after a tiresome flight and the owners engaged us in conversation for about 30 minutes when we just wanted to settle in and head out for dinner. They also firmly let us know we were expected to show up early for the 10 Euro per person breakfast of drip coffee, bread and yogurt and to leave the house by 10am at the latest to allow them to do the cleaning. We were too tired to argue, plus we felt put on the spot, as we had never experienced anything like this before.
The decor of the rooms shown on the website looks a lot more charming than the actual decor of the room we stayed in. On the website, the rooms have French country charm, the small room we stayed in was very plain with an odd combination and quality of furnishings, there is no in-room safe and no minibar. Furthermore, the quality of the mattresses and sheets was not what one would expect for the price. Also, the location of the B&B is rather inconvenient, as it is located far away from the Old Town, where all the main attractions and most restaurants are. On the website, they say the villa is quiet. However, we could hear the planes from the nearby airport all day long...
We definitely wouldn't stay again.

We are a small hotel and we like exchanging with our customers upon their arrival, to give them some indications on the city, the places to be visited and restaurants. Before you, we thought that it was estimated by quite our customers. We never have complaint on the breakfast which is more copious than you indicate it, you just forgot fresh fruit, orange juice, croissants and similar products and home-made cake. Our rooms are now equipped with safes and TV. The sea is in 5 minutes in walking time, the city center in 20 minutes, we have the advantage to be far from the noises of the city. In Nice you cannot always avoid the noise of planes because the airport is never very far in Nice, it is an advantage. We are sorry to think that we shall not see again you at home, and what you do not have to find of positive points here.

The Villa Les Cygnes should not be classed as a hotel, but as a hostel or B&B.
No lounge, poor mattrasses and pillows, ugly sheets and towels, air-conditionning has to be shared with another room, no international TV channels, blocked drain in the bathroom, house in need of renovation, breakfast below average.
The worst thing is that the owners throw you out of the hostel at 10 a.m. to clean the room.
Far too expensive for what it really is. Stay elsewhere. There are many hotels in Nice that offer better value for your money.

Response from villalescygnes, Propriétaire at Hotel Villa Les Cygnes
Responded 16 Dec 2011
Sorry not to have answered your expectation and not to have spoken to us about it in your departure. The Villa Les Cygnes is an establishment which answers the French hotels standards and will soon be classified 3 stars. You are the first ones to pity you of the bedding and the linen, you doubtless prefer the standard white linen of the common hotels. The choice of French chanels TV is a will to want to make know to our guests a little of French culture. You can find hotels cheaper in Nice if you like the small rooms of less than 10 m2 in less quiet places. You were able to notice that our rooms are very large and that we are situated in a very quiet residential area and in 5 minutes of the Promenade des Anglais (the beach). You just forgot to write what had pleased you at home.

Parking in the street, ask the manager to put the bike innside the garden. No problem i think, the manager is very hospitable. Quiet street.

Not all room rates include parking therefore you need to confirm with the hotel that you will be reserved one of the spots on the road.
