Stayed for 5 nights in July with 2 kids. This is an old world villa with one of the best views in the world. It's an authentic family run business and they couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. They even had beach towels waiting for us at breakfast one morning (and provided an umbrella as well). My kids loved everything about it especially breakfast in the garden. The room was a bit small and AC is weak, but honestly you're not going spend much time in it due to the villa's amazing location. There are 3 beaches within walking distance (avoid busy Paloma). Paid parking is available as it's near impossible to find street parking. I recommend picking up Bus 15 at the port to get to surrounding towns like Eze and Villefranche-sur-Mer. Cap-Ferrat is quiet unlike places like Nice and St. Tropez, which I really appreciated.

I feel this hotel is resting on its laurels as it is in the most amazing location, close to town and beach and with the most fantastic views.
It falls down on customer service which is virtually non existent. If you have not booked parking don’t expect any advice! No laundry service . Front door locked after 9.30 pm
There is a back entrance but ground floor was barred off by a locked metal grid overnight .....not very welcoming and leaving only one exit in case of fire.
No masks worn by any staff and few by guests.
So if you want a comfortable room with a great view but are not worried about service then go ahead and book.

Response from Jean-Baptiste MAÎTREHENRY, Propriétaire at Hotel Brise Marine
Responded 18 Aug 2020
We thank you for appreciating the location and comfort of your room. Your big smile and your kindness, when you helped yourself to our special Covid buffet, made us think that you were satisfied with our welcome. It is therefore a pity that you did not inform us of the questions you were asking yourself. The reception is indeed closed at 9.30 pm, but you can access your room at any time of the day or night via the second entrance with your access card. This information was given to you on your arrival. Furthermore, for your safety, a metal gate is imposed by the "Commission de Sécurité Anti-Incendie" (Fire Safety Commission) to avoid taking a dead-end road during the night. Parking spaces are a rare commodity in the summer in Saint Jean Cap Ferrat. This is why we offer our customers the possibility to reserve one when booking their room. Unfortunately, if this has not been done and our car parks are all occupied, it is possible to park in the surrounding streets on places managed by the city. And finally, hotels in our category, three stars, are not required to have a laundry service. But, of course, when one of our clients asks us to do so, we will gladly refer them to an external service. We hope to have answered all your questions.

A beautiful, small and quiet B&B hotel that had views that could make someone fall in love. The ocean view from our room was breathtaking and it couldn’t be compared to anywhere else! It was unbelievably romantic and intimate which was amazing! The staff was phenomenal and accommodating whenever we needed something! The only downsides were the white curtains that never fully closed so everyone in the B&B were waking up at 6:30/7 am. The other downside was the breakfast was not much to write home about, however, all the little restaurants in the town are within 0.2 miles of the B&B, so in reality if you don’t want the small and limited B&B breakfast, just walk into the town nearby for some coffee or pastries!

Its true, the views from the hotel are quite incredible but the rudeness of the manager/ owner has ensured we will not be back . Despite being what I would regard a regular customer the warmth of the welcome is always severely lacking . We have never taken the poor choice and overpriced breakfast and have enjoyed walking into the local town for a coffee and pick up some local fruit and delicious croissants . When we asked the owner for some bowls to enjoy our breakfast in our terrace he would only give us one bowl between us as seemingly he needed the bowls for his customers taking breakfast . So pathetic . The rooms are basic , lacking imagination in decor and the hotel is now seriously tired , certainly no refurbishment in over 15 years. Wallpaper hanging off , bedding poor especially the pillows , wardrobe doors not closing , grout in serious need of a good clean . This year our bathroom sliding door wouldn't close . The owner does not take criticism easily ! Worse still we had no air conditioning for the 1st 2 days and after 1 hour of sleep his reaction to having to sort the switch in the distribution cupboard with no apology was quite incredible . An engineer was promised to attend to sort . The next night we spent the night flicking the switch (on a chair taken from the bedroom) of the DB in a cleaners cupboard to reset the ac unit. We were moved room , away from our beloved room 10 and I hope the next customers didn't have the same problem. On check out, a paltry discount was offered for our inconvenience and still no apology .In summary ,if you want the view or the location to Paloma beach, its worth considering but beware of the rudeness ( and anger) of the owner and a very basic product . PS if you are not physically fit there is no baggage assistance and this is seriously inconvenient with its elevated position.

Hotel in a good location walking distance to town. With the right room great views.

Buffet was average. Great pastries
Protein was scrambled eggs and soft boiled eggs and bacon. That’s it.

Anyhow host was helpful when asked.
Not proactive as a notified but always got answers

If you are older or can’t manage your bags
This is not your hotel
No porters

50 steps reminding me of my 5th floor walk up in New York to get to the first floor rooms

No help

This was a problem

Other than this.

In Spite of the breakfast cost
Worth it for the terrace.

All in all have to rate what could be great above average

Stay in the sea view room with balcony!! Yes, the rooms are a tad dated and the manager isn't the most welcoming, but you can't beat the location! Just a short walk to the beaches and restaurants, the view is magnificent, the rooms are clean, the AC worked great (in August!), and they have turtles living in the gardens that you can watch while having breakfast/drinking wine on the balcony. Cannot wait to stay there again!

The Brise Marine is a modestly priced hotel in a super-rich part of the Côte d'Azur. St Jean Cap Ferrat is a wonderful haven of tranquility, with lovely sea-side walks although only scratchy beaches. The Brise Marine house - it would make a nice family villa - is situated in a small garden. Most rooms have some kind of sea view. Because of a mix-up (all too common I suspect because of the rather eccentric style of management), we ended up staying in three different rooms: one poor, one indifferent, one very pleasant. It's all rather hit and miss, I'm afraid.Don't expect much in the way of frills or room service: on arrival, I asked if someone might come down and collect our suitcases from the taxi. The response was to the point: "with social costs like they are in France today, you must be joking"!There is no restaurant - but the lovely Voile d'Or Hotel a hundred yards away has a superb one overlooking the harbour.

We had a reservation at the Brise Marine for a three night stay. After the first night, we canceled our stay. The rooms were small, beds OLD, bathrooms smelled, safety was an issue, and the staff was absolutely rude. AVOID staying here.

We returned to the Hotel Brise Marine for a second stay. The hotel is now run by the children of the prior management. Unfortunatly, what was never warm hospitality has turned into cold, surly mistreatment. As my understanding of the french language is not perfect, I requested assistance in speaking with Air France regarding lost luggage. This request was refused and dismissed with "it does not matter".

The room was threadbare, the most worn part of the carpet was covered with a rubber floor mat. The airconditioner did not work properly and leaked water. The room was also in need of repainting. House keeping would only make up the room if we were out first thing in the morning. Keep in mind no elevators, and the halways are always dark (inadequate lights) so bring a flashlight.

For breakfast they will bring you a coisant for about 20 times the price that the same coisant can be bought just a few meters from the hotel, however you risk getting very dirty looks if you chose not to purchase your coisant from the Brise Marine.

I recomend that you stay elsewhere.

We stayed in this hotel as a very good friend was getting married in the church down the road. On arrival I went to reception while my boyfriend waited in the car with our bags. I was told we had room no.5 and was given the key. I spoke in French and said I would go and collect my bags from the car but was offered no help despite being a female on my own and there being lots of steps. As I then returned from the car with the bags we again walked past the owner who simply pointed the direction to the room - up further stairs. Later on we called to reception to request the use of an iron. We were told a customer had broken it. Given we were off to a wedding I called back and asked if we could use their personal iron to which I was told no, I then asked about neighbours we could ask but she had no empathy and made no attempt to help us out. My boyfriend then had to go to another hotel and pay 15 euros to get their laundry service to iron his shirt for the wedding. I guess these things could seem petty but we'd been in the south of france for 10 days prior to this wedding and had such friendly, helpful service and welcomes that these people really stood out as not caring about their customers. I would suggest you could find a better hotel than this one.

Hello. I booked my stay at Hotel Brise Marine in January for my stay in July. It is only a small hotel, in a sensational location, so if I were you, I would book as soon as possible. I stayed in Room 12 - which had a great view, on the first floor. Good luck.
