Our Provencal mas with 5 rooms is located in an old olive grove with a garden full of lavender and Rosemary. South-facing "Le Mas des Cigales" bathes the whole day in the sun and from the terrace around the pool you enjoy a wonderful view over the Mediterranean Sea. Le Mas des Cigales is located just outside the authentic village of Tourrettes-sur-Loup. Each room is equipped with safe, flat screen TV, air conditioning and bed linen with light quilts. The pool is South/South-west-oriented and is therefore the whole day in the Sun. It is accessible to everyone because it has a border around on 1.3 M deep, also in the deeper part of it. Our tennis court helps you to maintain your condition (rackets and balls are kindly offered), or if you are looking for an earlier quiet activity, you can enjoy a game "jeu de boules". And above all, let us not forget our sauna in which you can fully relax. For internet users, we offer free WIFI. There is a parking on the closed area. Breakfast is served from the first warm days in the outdoor kitchen or in the patio at the colder temperatures. One or two times per week we will spoil you with a delicious table d ' hotes (without obligation).

Detailed Reviews
What a find! This B&B is wonderful! It took hours of internet searching to find something that ticked all of our boxes, and this B&B fulfilled all our criteria. Tourrette sur loup is a pretty picturesque village perched on the hill side. The village is quaint, charming and historical. I fell in love with it and this whole area of the south of france.
At Le Mas des Cigales, we stayed in the lavender room. There was an ensuite bathroom, and mini bar in the room. It was such a pretty room and very comfortable. Breakfast was in abundance (boiled eggs, bread, cheese, yoghurts, juice, tea, coffee etc) and service was remarkable and always with a cheery smile.
There was a lovely swimming pool, as well as tennis courts and beautiful garden. I think there was also a sauna but we didn't use this. The views from the B&B are lovely. I would whole heartedly recommend this place and would definitely visit here again should we be in the area.
In Tourrettes sur Loup itself, there is a post office, restaurants, market in the square (I can't remember which days), butchers, bakers, grocers etc. The B&B wasn't too easy to find so do print off directions/maps to help you out. The B&B is located about 1/2 mile from the centre of Tourrettes Sur Loup.
My husband and I like to be immersed in culture when we go on holiday and this was definitely a place we enjoyed and we were constantly agog by the beautiful scenery of the whole area, it is so beautiful. Driving conditions are for the brave/experienced as it is mountainous driving with narrow windy roads. The nearest town to Tourrettes is Vence where we stocked up on our supplies (food, water etc) at a cheaper price than in Tourrette itself. Nearby is the gorge du loup which is so lovely (mountains, ravines, waterfalls), and we also went on a drive to Lac de St Croix, along the Gorge de Verdon (Europe's grand canyon) which was breathtaking. Once you get to the Lac de St Croix have your swimming gear ready for the beautiful turqoise fresh water lake as you can go for a swim, take a canoe or pedalo into the mouth of the grand canyon. It is a long drive to get there from Tourretes but the views are amazing and the pretty villages you drive by are so beautiful. I was constantly clicking with my camera and awwed every moment. We used the B&B as a base to explore from, and visited all over: Monaco, Menton, Nice, Antibes, St Tropez, Cannes, etc and had an amazing holiday overall. We also went inland and visited the most wonderful and picturesque villages. We took a traveller's guide book with us which pointed us to the nice places to visit which ended up being particularly well thumbed and dog eared by the end of the holiday.
This place is on my list of places to return and visit (particularly the restaurant in Tourrettes that had the most delicious crepes!).

My wife and I spent six nights at this lovely B&B overlooking the hills of the Cote D'Azur and the Med. Marc and Bernard took wonderful care of us in their charming Provencal B&B. Breakfasts were fresh, tasty, and "oh so French". The room was large, nicely decorated, and contained the best bed that we have slept in on our travels. In addition, our two hosts offered three course dinners with wine two nights of the week. The meals were good provencal fare, and the company of other guests (French, Swiss, and German), was priceless.
We did day trips to Nice, Monaco, and Canne. Vence, St Paul, and the Gorge Sur Loup are near by. Tourette itself was the find of our trip. A medievel perched town, it is relatively untouristed.
Go and enjoy!

I chose Tourrettes to base ourselves in on a friend's suggestion and selected Le Mas Des Cigales based on its website.
It was as pictured, and more. We were totally impressed by the attention to detail - each room is decorated differently according to a floral theme, with the rooms surrounding the pool area. All rooms also come with tea-making facilities.
Breakfast was beautiful, exactly as we'd envisaged having it at a B&B in Provence - as the weather was good, we sat out by the pool, with the breakfast spread laid out in the dining room. Again, the attention to detail... the orange juice was served in lovely individual pitchers, and the fantastic pastries were all home made! The best croissants I've ever had.
Though slightly further from St Paul de Vence (which I had originally planned to stay in) than I expected, it was well worth it. This was probably the best B&B of my entire trip.

The place is beautiful , the rooms are spacious. The breakfast very good. It is such a shame that the female owner is rude and treats guests like idiots. The air conditioning was on a timer so that during the hottest part of the day we were not able to turn on our air-conditioner - given it was 37 degrees this was ridiculous. This is because other guests have gone out without turning off their air-conditioners. We left early because of this only to find she tried to charge my credit card for the night we did not stay- she failed but her attitude was rude- beware Veronique.

Response from Stefaan B, Propriétaire at Le Mas des Cigales
Responded 15 Jul 2015
Dear guest, rooms are available at 15h00. This is clearly mentionned when you book your room. You arrived at our gate at 13h00, 2 hours earlier. When we told you that arrivals are at 15h00 you insisted to come in because you only wanted to use the pool-area. We were so nice to let you in and immediately gave your room at your disposal, which we normally didn't have to. The room was fresh (not cold) when you came in. Every time a guest arrives we give a full explanation of the house rules. Every room also has a guide with all the guide-lines, in order to make your stay as comfortable as possible. One of these rules is not to leave the airconditioning on all day, but to use it to cool the room in the evening before going to bed. In the morning when you told you would leave because the airconditioning was not working, your room was very cold, so the airconditioning worked perfectly. It is your right to leave our B&B after one night even when you booked for 2 nights, but of course the room must be paid for the 2 nights. You refused to pay and left our B&B. It is very normal then that we charge this night. To conclude, an enjoyable stay at a B&B is a two way street.

We spent one long weekend while travelling in the region as the result of a Lonely Planet recommendation. We wanted to stay there to avoid the hustle and bustle of the beach while being able to check out the area. We were very happy with the hotel and thought it offered a great price-quality in an expensive region.

We stayed at Le Mas des Cigalles for 4 nights in March of 2007. From the very first time we communicated with the owners till they bid us good-bye outside of their home's gates Marc and David were most attentive and wonderful hosts. The house is an absolute gem up in the hills above the town of Tourrettes Sur Loup known for its violettes (make sure to get some Creme de Viollettes to mix with your white wine). The room was lovely and there is a beautiful area around the swimming pool. Breakfast are more than you can wish for, and the owners will accomodate your time (ie you can sleep in late). It's about 20 minutes drive to Nice, and roughly the same distance from Grasse and St. Paul de Vence. The whole area is absolutely beautiful and makes it easy for daytrips. Make sure to have at least one dinner at the B&B as Marc is an excellent cook, and you can have a 4-course dinner with wine and aperetifs for 25 euros. Will not hesitate to recommend this B&B. We want to be back at Le Mas des Cigalles one day.

It did indeed feel like home! Stefann and Veronique were so very welcoming and helpful. The location was very picturesque and convenient to visiting the small villages in the area and also close enough to visit the Riviera if one wished. The rooms were spotless and extremely comfortable. Dinner is available 3 evenings a week and the food was fabulous! Great cooks, both of them! Although most of their clientele seems to be from Belgium, folks did try to translate whenever the conversation got beyond our English. What a wonderful experience! We would certainly come back!

This was a great experience. My wife and I used to stay in UK and Ireland B&Bs quite frequently but have preferred hotels of late. We chose Le Mas des Cigales based on the positive reviews here at tripadvisor and are very glad we did.
The home is located just off the main road connecting Vence and Grasse in the hills above Nice. These are winding roads and require some careful driving. Once you've arrived, you will find gated parking for your car. Our room was comfortably sized, with a king sized bed (featuring convenient mini-reading lamps) and a nice bathroom, with combo tub and shower. A pleasant herbal fragrance was always present. A beautiful, spacious swimming pool is the centerpiece of the property and is surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas. There are also covered areas near the pool with seating and tables. The building itself just looks like a French countryside inn should look: rounded tiles roof, soft pink stucco walls, and muted green shutters, with flowers in abundance clinging to the walls. Standing by the pool, with the home at your back, you have a beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. It's a glorious place.
And then there are the host and hostess. Stefaan and Veronique are quite something. Stefaan greets you and provides information and assistance with great charm. Veronique is less visible but makes her presence known in the kitchen, with her husband's assistance. They are originally from Belgium but are knowledgeable about the local scene and especially good with driving directions. Their command of the English language is excellent.
The food at Le Mas des Cigales is superb. Breakfasts feature fresh-squeezed orange juice and fresh fruit salad, along with excellently prepared eggs, healthful cereals and yogurts, and delicious rolls and breads. Dinners are offered a few nights a week and we took advantage of this twice. Both experiences were highlights of our entire vacation. We sat at a large, outdoor table and shared delicious meals with the other guests. Most were Belgian, like our hosts, and several were fluent in English. It was truly broadening to learn about the lifestyles of people from a country we really didn't know. Stefaan acted as a sort of cruise director, making sure that the meal and conversations were proceeding smoothly. Just a wonderful couple of evenings.
Our return to a B&B was a total success. The atmosphere here was comfortable and never cloying. It comes with my highest recommendation. (June, 2014 price: 130 euros B&B)

We loved this charming B&B when we last visited--9 years ago. To our delight, new owners Veronique and Stefaan have kept it every bit as pristine while improving it with their own touches and hospitality. Each of the chambres are individually decorated, comfortably spacious and spotlessly clean. My wife and I stayed 4 nights in late October, when we enjoy this part of France since the crowds are gone but the days are still warm and the nights wonderfully cool. Since we were the only guests for 2 of the nights, the property was blissfully quiet, yet our hosts were always there to help us with information and tips--and of course, a plentiful breakfast each morning to start our day. The picture-perfect little village of Tourrettes is only a 5 minute drive away and has plenty of little shops to visit by day as well as good restos to sample by night. So while Le Mas makes a great base from which to take day trips to Gourdon or Valbonne, Vence or Antibes or Nice, a day spent in meandering Tourrettes sur Loup and then relaxing on the terrace of Le Mas with a good book is truly delightful. So, thanks to our hosts for a perfect start to our latest French getaway. We will be back!

Stayed at Le Mas Des Cigales for one night and was welcomed by Stefan and his wife who made us feel extremely welcome. The property is stunning with an outdoor breakfast area which has wonderful views reaching out to the sea. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic and is how breakfasts should be!
A little pricey at €115 for a night, but this really is a gem in Tourettes. Definitely recommended!
