Bonjour, and a warm welcome to Chateau Saint-Martin & Spa. Imagine, if you will, sitting among our 300-year-old olive grove and feeling the warmth of the sun. The only sounds will be nature itself. Or, occasionally, the distant splash of laughter from the outdoor pool. Alternatively, picture yourself on the terrace of one of our six private villas. The view, like many a guest, stretches gently into the warm waters of the French Riviera. Either image induces endless relaxation and there, you have the allure of our hotel. It is, quite possibly, the most peaceful and tranquil corner of France. Fine dining is close to all French hearts and menus present only the finest local produce and world class culinary expertise. Welcome to Château Saint-Martin & Spa where life is for living.

The hotel is surrounded by olive trees, lavender and gardens.
We spent a few days there and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere.

The deluxe junior suite has a wonderful 180 degrees view between the sea, where we could see Nice and Cap d’Antibes, the area around St. Paul de Vence, and the mountains.

The service was impeccable, from the room service, to the cleaning of the room, to the restaurants and Rossini bar.

We enjoyed the swimming pool, which had the perfect temperature, and we had the opportunity to see two rabbits of the chateau in the garden.

The breakfast buffet was one of the best we have ever experienced, both in term of local products’ choices and outstanding quality.
The cakes for breakfast and desserts at the restaurant in the evening were divine!

It’s the perfect place to stay in the Côte d’Azur, relaxing, recharging, immersed in the nature and art.

We had a delightful lunch yesterday in the garden restaurant. The food was excellent and perfectly prepared. But what impressed us the most was the service. Starting with the valet who took our car to table service. Pauline, Melanie, and Julie took very good care of us and made sure we had a memorable experience. Despite their young age, they were courteous, professional, and made our experience all the more enjoyable. When the valet brought our car back, he made sure to disinfect every surface that he touched. Thanks team.

This is a fantastic hotel in a breathtaking location. Beautiful rooms, gardens and pool but above all the service is simply superb. We stayed in a suite with views south and west across the hills and down to the Med. The attention to detail is incredible, the room service quick and efficient, and there is a fantastic concierge service giving you ideas on what to see, where to park, where to eat etc. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a formal restaurant and also a terrace restaurant although the latter was not operating in the evening when we were there as it was pretty cold out. We ate once in the formal restaurant where the food was excellent.

The hotel itself is about 15 miles from the sea but it seemed equidistant to Nice, Antibes and Cannes plus easy access to Vence and St Paul de Vence. The Col de Vence is on the road up from the hotel so also plenty of cycling and walking in the area.

I probably prefer a hotel with a slightly more relaxed feel to it but this hotel is right at the top of its game and I could really get used to that level of service.

Having been a regular guest over the last few years at the Hotel du Cap d’Antibes - Eden Roc, we decided to spread our wings and visit the sister hotel Chateau Saint Martin and Spa; however the two are incomparable. We start this conversation on the basis that this is a very expensive hotel and considering we booked three suites in peak season for one week, one would expect the upmost care and service.

Rooms were traditional and lovely.

Food and beverage. At Breakfast, everything felt difficult. The food order often came wrong and/or cold and/or late. Although the staff were polite particularly Henri, they often seemed overwhelmed and disorganised. Dinner was a similar story. One never has a problem paying for quality however, €15 for a side of fries which arrived cold was a step too far. Overall it felt a shame for the chefs as the food was undoubtedly good quality and well prepared however, the disorganisation at front of house let it down.

House Keeping. Again, the housekeeping staff were all lovely and always left the room to a high standard. However, the timings have been an issue. Morning housekeeping service often wasn’t completed until 2/3pm and evening turndown until 10pm. At this point we were getting ready for bed and would often decline service which was frustrating. We alerted reception of our disappointment however, no changes in timings were made.

Concierge were very accommodating and helpful, however the Reception team were not as efficient. One of our rooms was located next door to a family of 5 (all in one room). As a family of 6, we can understand the challenges of having young children, however, this party was particularly disruptive with loud noise throughout the night. After two nights of continuous disruption, we alerted reception. However, little change could be made at this point as this family were leaving in a couple of days. Surprisingly, the same day the initial family departed, another family with young children was moved into the same room despite our complaint. In future, I don’t think the hotel should place a family of 5 in such close proximity to a couple.

The pool team organisation is one of the best in the hotel. Benoire was always around to make sure our afternoon was as pleasant and easy breezy as possible.

In summary, this is a beautifully located hotel however there are some organisational challenges and setbacks which make it difficult to justify such a luxurious price.

We had probably the best Jr. Suite possible while staying at seven different 5 star hotels over a 4 week period at this outstanding hotel/location perched on the hilltop with commanding views over Vence, Cannes and Nice with the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.. Prestige suite #54 has an enviable corner location on this hilltop hotel, beautifully decorated, large and many comfortable seating options with four French doors, three opening onto a private patio with table for outdoor dining (if desired) with amazing views to Nice, Antibes and the Mediterranean Sea. The hotel grounds are very spacious and pleasant.

Staff very attentive and helpful. The swimming pool is beyond gorgeous with perfect lap swimming temperature. We enjoyed 3 days of breakfast in the room and went to the formal dining twice. Both evenings were outstanding and the Dorade one evening was possibly the best I can recall. Staff and wine sommelier Arthur was very accommodating to our limited wine consumption habit. We will be back!

I agree with the prior reviewer who described this hotel as "idyllic" . . . it was just the most peaceful and lovely hotel , , , a place with no pretensions that still captures the essence of a wonderful and unique French experience. To a person, every employee we encountered was so pleasant and warm and inviting . . . the complete opposite of what we had experienced in Paris. We had two adjoining junior suites with loads of storage and lovely terraces looking out to the sea. At night the lights along the shoreline of the Mediterraneran seemed to twinkle in the distance. The entire property sooths your senses from the sound of birds and gentle fountains, to the smell of honeysuckle and lavender, to the taste of the lavish, delicious breakfasts on the restaurant terrace . . . it was all just lovely. But I would be remiss if I did not mention the most wonderful Thomas, who is a living master class in how to be the perfect concierge, and the kind bartender Matteo, who would make you the drink you wanted or something even better you hadn't even thought of. And kudos to the kind manager who assisted me on an issue with complete efficiency, courtesy, and good will. If you go anywhere near the south of France, go out of your way to stay at the Chateau . . .. it will be a restful and beautiful experience which only hurts, as a prior reviewer said, when you have to leave. I hope to one day return.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location with absolutely incredible views over nice and the french Rivera. The grounds of the hotel are kept in such good order and are lovely to walk around. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, with plenty of room for storage. There are a few different areas to sit and have a drink with some nibbles. The concierge was extremely helpful in the lead up to our stay and couldn’t do enough to help organise our trip. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Off the beaten track, on top of a hill looking over the south of France. On a good day you can even see Corsica. A lovely area with a nearby small town.

I felt this was secluded and exclusive. I’ve never quite felt peace like it. It’s so quiet and relaxing. If I were to ever go away by myself or just with my partner for a quiet week, this would be it.

As someone who works in luxury travel, the little gifts I had for my child goes such a long way. Even though they cost a small amount, it is these touches which keep high net worth individuals coming back and will keep people like me sending clients to the hotel.

Top quality breakfast. Stunning pool area. Fantastic clean and spacious room.
I hope to go back one day.

My wife and I have been hear for five days. From the moment we arrived we were treated royally. Our names were remembered by most. The most remarkable aspect were the incredible recommendation we received from the concierge ,everything from excursions to dinner recommendations. The staff is out of this world. The property and setting are out of this world.

The room was elegant and fabulously appointed. Our only regret is the lack of time. Five days was great , not a moment to chill.

The spa was awesome.

Thank for a fabulous stay

Hi there, I saw that you had asked about the benefits and challenges of having a room in the main building of Chateau Saint Martin vs one of their villas and I am wondering the same thing. I did not see any responses to your question but wondered if you had found out any information. If so, let me know as we are a family of 5 and considering rooms side by side or the villas which may be a bit of a pain to walk to when we want to head out of the room. Thanks for any info you may have!
