We arrived before normal check-in time (4 pm) but received a warm, friendly welcome from Dee and Alex. Our rucksacks were taken up to our room, we were shown around and then served tea and toasted teacakes as we sat in armchairs in the residents lounge and enjoyed the views. Dee and Alex joined us for a nice chat, booked...

As our first night's stop this was a great start to our walk. Everything looked fresh & clean, nd the food was excellent. Easy 10 minute walk to the local pub, (via short-cut) where the food is also very good (Downing Arms). Made us feel welcome and fabulous views over the Welsh hills.

A lovely warm welcome with a tray of tea and cake YUM. My room was large with a smashing en-suite shower room. The décor and furnishings are outstanding! Wet boots? Don't...

My husband and I plus two friends arrived at Valeside drenched to the skin on our penultimate day of walking Offa's Dyke path. What a joy to be met by Alex and Dee and have all our wet clothes and boots taken away to dry. We were then treated to home-made cake and cups of tea in the beautiful triple-aspect...
