At some point you're just too old to stay at a youth hostel. We (group of university students) found it out the hard way. The average folk there was young (like 16) so it was kinda loud at night and the bathrooms weren't that clean. The rooms were alright, we even had a shower en suite. But I wouldn't shower...

This is a basic hostel which is close to the beaches of Marseille. It takes 30-45 min to reach Vieux Port and the centre of Marseille by bus and or metro. The hostel attracts a variety of people, both old and young. It can get a bit noisy so don't forget to bring earplugs. It's supposed to be quiet after...

When the alarm went off at 5:15 a.m., my first thought was, "Thank god I am getting out of here!" One of my traveling companions remarked, "I am going to try to forget that night ever happened." We arrived hot, sweaty and tired at 9:30 p.m. only to find that the desk was closed for 40 minutes, so we waited....

Probably the worst hostel I've ever stayed at. Party destination for *very* young people. Small rooms with impractical storage space (no drawers under beds, but a few shelves with 3 rails one behind the other inside--what could you possibly hang here?). Not a single hook or nail in the rooms. As a beach destination, there should be a clothesline to...

Good HI hostel: - It has a bar and terrace, connection to internet, a big living and a good ambiance. - People at the desk were very friendly. - The hostel is 5 blocks away from the beach, Prado Norte, a noisy beach, full of people, good ambiance, and plenty of restaurants. - Big breakfast room. Excelent breakfast (between 7...

“If you are easily distrubed you might want to try and get a room not facing the terrace.”

“Unless you must be at the beach ***every day, all day,*** stay in town. It's no problem to get transit down to the beach during the day, but if you stay at the beach it's a pain to get back and forth to town at night. There are many places where a group can get a good rate for rooms that have better facilities.”
JackieCerulean, 25 Jul 2013 | Read review
“Try not to stay in the rooms that are in the ground floor. Everybody walks through the corridor making noise. Toilets and showers are at the beginning of the corridor so that's one of the reasons for the noises.”
