As stated in other reviews, the entire building and its property are not exactly pristine and manicured. However, we found all the interior spaces well cared for and luxurious. Our room and bath were both large and well-appointed, and very clean. We did not need the air conditioning, so I cannot speak for its efficacy. Our tour group was provided... More

Thank you very much for your nice comments. Nice and precise. Chateau de Roussan indeed is a house with character. An old but well kept house which breathes peacefulness and authenticity. As a mattre of information, to thank you for your concern, our new restaurant will open in the beginning of December and will be very happy to accomodate you... More

This is a bit faded 18th century chateau set in its own park, about a mile from the town of Saint-Remy-de-Provence. Somewhat shabby chic, somewhat charming and romantic, I wavered on my opinion of this hotel. However, there was no equivocation about the oddness of our room on the ground floor: it lacked basic privacy! The large bathroom windows had... More

We loved this quiet, off-the-beaten path chateau. Few guests allowed us to imagine it was ours. Beautiful, rustic gardens and wonderful friendly people like the gardener, Charlotte and Vincent made our stay delightful. Nice hot water, beautiful rooms and comfortable beds. Nice job and Thanks.

This, once upon a time, beauty of a château, is in dire need of renovation. While the staff are kind and helpful as always, the establishment is understaffed. There is no restaurant facility since July this year and no bar either. A substantial amount of renovation is required, both indoors and outdoors, to turn the château back tu the jewel... More

Drive down a long allee of plane trees. One soon faces a glorious old mansion with rose colored shutters, surrounded by fields as well as ancient trees. The outside is far from immaculate and may look a bit run down to some.Once a working farm, with lots of irrigation canals. But, the interior has been freshly redone. Our room, on the... More

Everything is so comfortable here. The highest standards, a gorgeous room, quiet and luxurious. Breakfast and dinner were superb! Service and reception were grand. The property is alive with nature- beautiful trees, stream, and birds. A memorable visit, just five minutes from the center, yet a world away!

This is a beautiful old palace located just a few miles outside of the town center. It must have been magnificent at one time, but now it is run down and in dire need of a facelift. The grounds are overgrown and in definite need of some major TLC. The breakfast was good and service was also good.

Chateau de Rousson was a delight from word ‘go’. It is an old palace, now open for guests. A lot of the architecture and décor remains vintage and beautiful. It is situated in the wilderness, a few isolated miles from the busy sts. Remy’s downtown , and one feels transported to another era among the fields, the sheep herd, the... More

We were looking forward to saying at the Château. Upon arrival it looked like they were just opening up for the season. Both the exterior and interior were elegant but faded and worn. The staff was friendly. Upon arrival we were told that they were having difficulty in their kitchen and would not be serving dinner. They offered to make... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Only the XIIIth century could offer such a charming mansion, only 2km away from Saint‐Rémy de Provence. As you’ll slowly walk down the elegant alley of centennial plane trees, you’ll discover the “Château de Roussan”, designed by a brilliant French architect. Enchanted by his creation, he offered it a façade decorated with an elegant balcony overlooked by a majestic front wall; in the manner of a theatre stage set. ... more   less
