We visited this hotel as we had been there in 1996 and wanted to go back. We should never have gone back. Since the refurbishment the atmosphere was heavy (red rooms), there was mournful church music playing all the time and in one small niche in the corner I counted 9 statuettes, 3 crosses and a crucifix. this was in...

This is a beautiful hotel, and neither Venere nor the hotel's own website does it justice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a front room in the main part of the hotel, looking onto the church and the place de la republique. We did not hear any street noise at all. We paid extra for a large double and...

We chose this hotel because it looked nice on the website, it was in St. Remy de Provence and it was reasonably priced. It lived up to all our expectations. Igor, at the front desk and almost always there, was more than "eager" to please. Helped with everything we asked. Breakfast was included and was very good - coffee/tea, fresh...

We read all the reviews of the Hotel Gounod before we went ahead with our booking and felt we really should have listened to the one person who had negative feelings towards the hotel after being there for ..... oh about an hour. On walking into the hotel one is first impressed by the overwhelming decor of religious icons and...

Great location right in the center of town. The staff was lovely and helpful. The rooms are nicely decorated - between modern and French. I would stay here again. You can walk to the ruins and to the clinic where Vincent Van Gogh stayed. Breakfast is on the minimal side, and there are no elevators, but beyond these things, the...

We really enjoyed this hotel. Lots of special touches such as L'Occitane products in the room and nice quality linens. We found the hotel staff to be very friendly and accommodating, even arranging for us to have an earlier than normal breakfast and offering to bring it to our room. Great location for exploring the town also. Entirely non-smoking and...

Pros: Very unique b&b/hotel atmosphere. Interesting eclectic decor. Excellent location on the main street in town and on the square so very easy access to the weekly market. Complimentary parking is a plus but is a bit of a hike to get to, and a bit spooky at night since it is down a quiet and dark alley next to...

This hotel is delightful. It has quirky decor, but backed up with excellent service and good facilities. We stayed in a room facing a lawn, adjacent to a swimming pool. It was cool and quiet, which is surprising since the hotel fronts St. Remy's main square. Breakfast is served in a charming salon du the, with high quality ingredients and...

We stayed for 8 days and wished it could have been more. Staff are excellent with a special mention for Sophie in Reception who was pleasant at all times and extremely helpful. The music and the garden create a wonderfully peaceful oasis after doing the tourist bit during the day. The general ambience of the place is a credit to...
