Went out to Toulon to watch rugby and stayed at the Acanthid. Great location: 10 minute walk from SNCF station, the Harbour and Stade Mayol. Opposite the Opera House and near shops and market. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and, like everyone else in Toulon, wanting to talk rugby. Hotel could do with modernization. The rooms were spartan... More

This is a great hotel for the boys, rooms are clean, may need a little updating BUT the price reflects the hotel. It is in the middle of everything and all locations seems only 10 minutes away. The location could not be better. Staff are friendly and a few can speak good English. I have paid a lot more for far... Right in middle of town and was 180euro for 4nights. Walked everywhere from there. Location. Location. Location! Staff great too, 24hr reception. If you're going for the rugby, use this place! Hotel only 10min stroll from the ground... Ps. Loved the beach bars in Toulon. Take the number3 or 23 to Mouilard. Loads of chilled out bars, great views, only... More

Stayed for three nights as part of a 'boys trip' to watch Toulon play rugby. Arrived at Toulon using train and hotel is just about 5 mins walk away. Hotel has some character but has seen better days. However prices fairly reflect this and the one thing it really has going for it is a fantastic location. Toulon is easy... More

Only hotel available on weekend of rugby quarter final. Pros - friendly, clean, comfortable bed. Cons - small, especially bathroom, shower not very hot if you don't get up early but still OK, noisy if window opened, location good for all facilities but drawback on busy main road.

This two star hotel is in the middle of the town just across the street from Toulon Opera. It´s a short walk from the Cour de Lafayette market, one of the largest on Cote d´Azur. Booking.com reservation site promises you a breakfast on the room prize but there is no breakfast at the moment. The rooms are smallish, the bed... More

It feels unfair to criticise this hotel. It was well-placed for the harbour from which Corsica Ferries sail, it was clean, the booking procedure was smooth, and considering its location and the fact that it was only a 1-night stopover, the price was very good. It was comfortable and soundproofed. The minuses: no parking, and Toulon is a bit of... More
