This hotel is in a great location, just outside Annecy Old Town. I felt luck to have chosen this hotel over others that are some distance away such as the Imperial Palace and the Catalpa which looked good on Tripadviser because, on very hot days around 38 degrees, it was easy to get back to the air conditioned comfort of the hotel from the old town. There is outside parking at the hotel, though that seems to fill up by early evening. There is also some space in the secure underground car park for 20 Euro per day. It was great for us because they have 6 x 4kw EV chargers down there. I spoke to a Porsche Taycan driver who told me he had no trouble getting his car into the underground car park. Traffic is snarled up around the hotel for some of the day, leading to delays of 5-10 minutes, which I assume results from poor road modelling and design by the French authorities for this newly developed part of town.

I found the staff welcoming and especially calm, even when dealing with problems, such as seeking out our reservation as it didn’t initially appear on their IT system. The cleaner didn’t clean our room one day for some reason, which was inefficient, but reception were extremely helpful and polite when we phoned to ask for some spare items that had not been restocked by the cleaner.

Our room was a superior double with a lake view. The lake view was over a busy road and somewhat behind a tree, though we weren’t disappointed. The room was good, with a bathtub and basin in the bathroom, and a separate wc. All fittings were high quality. There were plenty of plug points and USB A charging points, though the USB C charging points were of little use as they were underpowered. There was a kettle in the room and a coffee pod machine. A safe and fridge were also provided.

Free wifi was included, but was disappointing at between 2 and 4 Mbps and laggy. I would have hoped for 60-70Mbps, which many other hotels do manage. On the other hand, the TV had youtube and Netflix installed and I was able to log in with my personal account details so I could access my home library and preferences during our stay. The bed was comfy, though two mattresses rather than one big one. A lot of thought has gone into the decor in this fairly new hotel. I especially liked the range of lights in the room and in some of the common areas of the hotel. There is a small outdoor heated swimming pool for guests with loungers and towels provided. It was well looked after and clean, though busy at times.

Breakfast was included in our rate, but otherwise I believe it is 25 Euro. It is largely a buffet affair, but that doesn’t do it justice as there is a great range of really tasty food. No chance to try everything during the 3 days we were there. I highly recommend it.

I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again if visiting Annecy.

Le Pélican = fabulous. On arrival we was greeted warmly but we were a little early and therefore had to wait a few hours for our room to become available which was a bit of an eye raiser as the hotel was fairly empty we later found out however we were given a lovely room at the side of the hotel. We hadn’t booked a lake view though but it appeared most of those rooms were available. I would suggest opting for lake view as it is absolutely gorgeous from there. The room had a very large comfortable bed, an extremely comfortable chair I’d have loved to take home and all expected amenities. The bathrooms are well thought out with an elegant touch. A great deal of thought has gone in to the design/aesthetics. Bathroom had a magnifying mirror with light, big tick and plugs near for using dryers/ straightener etc. Five minutes to the town and plenty of restaurants. The breakfast was apparently an eye watering £25 pp! There is a great little bakery in the foyer where we had our breakfast for about £6 pp. parking is FREE bang outside the entrance and car parks are opposite if all the spaces are taken at a much cheaper rate than the hotel underground cramped parking site. The bar is a touch expensive but around the same everywhere in Annecy €8 a pint/spirit. We had a fabulous time at the hotel and will hope to return in the summer as the outside pool area looked amazing with views of the lake. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Thank you Le Pelican

Le Pelican was the perfect base for our first visit to Annecy! Everything was new, spotless, and the use of space and furnishings in rooms was creative and thoughtful. The bakery in the lobby was an enormous draw card and did not disappoint! Breakfast as well was first class. Although only a few minutes walk to the old city, it felt quiet and removed from the crowds. We valued the easy access to a quieter part of the lake, to make the most of walking and cycling tracks. All in all, very happy!

Great situation for walk around the old town, very helpful reception and excellent underground parking.

Room on the dark side but comfortable enough bed. Bit over the top with light switches by the bed leaving me no bedside light and switching on and off most of the many lights in the room. The small pencil light did not work. USB ports by bed though!

Good bathroom with excellent use of space - herself was more than happy!!

We were only told no Sunday restaurant service upon arrival and think this should have been noted in the booking confirmation. We ate dinner at 16.30 as herself, with some walking difficulties, did not fancy the walk back to the hotel and then returning to the area for dinner at the usual time!

As long as you want to do emails and surf the net, the Wifi in the bedroom is adequate - but if you want to watch tv or, perish the thought, download a programme, it cannot cope. I did manage to watch a very fuzzy rugby match from the previous day but rarely was it clear viewing!

Gosh, this Le Pelican really surprised me. We stayed 3 nights in a classic room and I had concerns that it might feel small and the angled window would feel pokey - I was wrong and the many clever design elements made this a delight to stay. The room was very well designed and the angled window, plus mirror actually bounced light into the room. The room fittings were very cleverly thought out to make the most of space and the same with the bathroom - and done with pizazz.

The pool and petanque area is very good. The restaurant is a real treat - their aged beef is worth it and this is a 'proper' restaurant rather than what you may expect from a hotel. Breakfasts were similarly good and the staff very helpful. I also liked that they give you water bottles for your room and both still and sparkling water is available for filling these bottles, a great green option.

And the location is great too, just opposite the canals and very walkable for the older parts of town.

We booked a night for my parents to celebrate a milestone birthday and it was the perfect choice. The room was beautiful and the team gave a really warm welcome. The rate included an allocation at the restaurant and the food was delicious, as well as the cocktails and excellent desserts. It’s not cheap, but in comparison to the other 4* hotels in Annecy, the rooms have a nicer finish and the restaurant has a more appealing modern twist. Highly recommended all round!

Excellent hotel. Great location for the old town. We had a superior room which was a good size with a huge balcony overlooking the lake.
All of the staff, particularly the reception team were superb, and are a credit to the hotel.
The restaurant is very good, and has a lovely terrace overlooking the lake. The breakfast was also great, but that was where the one issue was. We were charged €6 for an omelette., which I know may seem like a small thing, but when you have spent over €2000 on 3 nights at a hotel I don’t expect to pay extra for an omelette, let alone €6!!!! It’s the only thing I would criticise about the hotel. I’d still highly recommend it

We were booked into this hotel for a number of days. The hotel is lovely, newly constructed and great staff. The check in and reception is a little unusual but I think a good use of the space to make the area more efficient. The on site bakery is excellent. We were sadly booked into a lovely room but without a shower screen on the shower… totally unusual as you can’t shower. After discussing the issues with the manger, we’re were offered a different and superior room because the hotel was fully booked. I’m really pleased to say this made our stay and we would most definitely come back. There’s construction at the rear of the hotel so you might want to check the position with the team before you book. We tried the bar, great terrace. We didn’t try the restaurant. Location is excellent to explore the town and the surrounding area.

This hotel has a great location, opposite the Lake and within walking distance of the Old Town, and the lake.

The rooms are very nicely decorated and exceptionally clean, and had everything you would expect.

Reception was efficient, and the car parking very good.

We didn't have breakfast, but there is a small bar near the entrance of the hotel where you can get pastries and coffee should you choose.

We would have given this hotel 5 stars but for the fact that we were woken by a dog barking in the next room, and we could hear it scratching the wooden floor throughout the night. When I mentioned this to reception, they said I should have contacted the night watchman who would have asked the owners to make sure the dog was quiet, or they could have moved us rooms.

It's unacceptable to expect a guest to move rooms in the middle of the night & we shouldn't have had to complain.

Lesson learnt, we'll not stay at an Hotel that allows dogs ever again. This really isn't something I would want to do in the middle of the night, nor would I expect to do when I am staying in a hotel.

Our stay was fabulous - the staff went above and beyond, really friendly and kind. Our room was lovely and the bed really comfortable. The pool was gorgeous- so clean and the sun beds really comfortable. The cocktails were great, as was the wine and beer. It was a great location for the town and the nearby beach to swim in the lake. Our only regret is we forgot to tip the amazing staff at the end of our stay. We’ll be back for sure - thank you!
