We have visited beautiful Annecy many time and always love to stay at the Imperial. It is a short stroll from the old city but we always love the walk into town. Facilities at the hotel are very good.

Stunning hotel in a beautiful location. Breakfast was superb and rooms were clean and well equipped. Staff were friendly and professional.

However, the beauty treatments were the most expensive that I have seen anywhere in the world, the food in the restaurant was also very expensive so we chose to eat out, and even the wine by the glass (starting price €10 for 150ml) was overpriced.

I would definitely return, but would eat out/go for drinks in the town.

The amazing hotel is a 15-minute walk from the city center.
Those arriving at the hotel have a free valet parking service, which takes care of luggage on arrival.
The rooms are large and cozy.
Breakfast is very good with a variety of options.
The air conditioning is not active in winter despite the hot days and the entrance to the spa requires payment (also for hotel guests).
However, the hotel is recommended due to its special character and winning location

Beautiful Belle Epoque building overlooking the lake. As soon as you check in you are asked to pay the bill in advance which is a bit disconcerting for such a luxurious hotel. The receptionist doesn’t even indicate where the lifts are situated to get to your room let alone where you can find the restaurant for breakfast or the bar. You are handed a key and left to your own devices. The check out was as impersonal as the check in. Only the voiturier and luggage staff were friendly and helpful. The beach is not private and is shared with an amusement park. We discovered that if you want to use the beach you need to get a free entry ticket from the main reception of the hotel. The Junior Suites have only a hand held shower that you can’t attach to the wall and there is no shower screen or even a curtain. Oddly enough if you want a proper shower you need to downgrade to a smaller Deluxe room which comes with a small balcony but is more expensive than a Junior Suite. The decor of the rooms and the hotel in general lacks of charm and looks like interiors you normally find in international airports. Despite all the luxurious toiletries in the bathroom, the lack of service and the poorly designed bedrooms ( you need to get of bed to reach the bedside light switch ) don’t make this hotel a 4 star hotel. The slick and well designed website, sadly, doesn’t reflect the reality.

I first noticed this hotel back in the 80s and always dreamed of staying here. 40 years later I hope to make that dream a reality and booked a room for two nights with my husband for our anniversary. I paid top price for a “privilege room“ and requested a “Lakeview“. When I checked in I was told that you could not see the leak from the room I had to go out on the balcony to see the lake. When I got to the room you can imagine my disappointment. A tiny balcony with a partial view of the lake. Such a disappointment. When I mentioned it to the receptionist she got a record. I had to show her my receipt mentioning the “Lakeview“. And her nasty coworker came over and bullied me into accepting the room. I actually showed them my reservation confirmation with “Lakeview “. It may no difference to them. On top of all that when I was walking from the elevator to my room I could see “Lakeview“ rooms still being made up by housekeeping. Such a disappointment for a special anniversary.

Annecy is a popular French resort with good reason and the Imperial Palace is by far the most high profile hotel in town. A large imposing building, we booked two nights in September at a cost of around £350 a night, enough you would think for a comfortable stay.

The hotel advertises a ‘pool’ which as a keen swimmer seemed ideal. The pool is actually a large glass fish bowl affair, looks good but too deep for kids and nowhere near big enough to swim in. Our room is around 4 metres by 4 metres and has a tiny balcony on the sixth floor which we paid extra for. Vertiginously around 80 feet up the balcony is far too dodgy to use for anything.

The room stat reads 22 degrees, no amount of twiddling budges it and with cooler September nights, I’m bloody cold! The restaurant charged us 60 euros for 2 x Mac and cheese, with a few leaves and a bottle of sparkling water.

All in all, the Imperial Palace hotel resembles a palace in the same way the Blackpool tower resembles the Parisian creation of Gustave Eiffel - that is not very much. Full of pomp but poor value for money and very mediocre. Save your money and look further afield.

This was a good stay overall but there were some problems and a few quality issues that people should be aware of. Apple Laptops do not work on the WiFi. They use cheap UBNT gear to provide WiFi so they blame Apple Computers and suggested I bring a Windows Laptop next time. This was unresolved after a visit by a non-technical concierge the first day and I was told someone would follow up the next day. No one followed up. I went to the front desk the second day and they produced an IT tech who was also unable to resolve the issue even with an ethernet connection. I was told it was a know problem that had existed unresolved for a long time.
No WiFi for the average hotel with the expensive name.
Not hot tub, not a jacuzzi, pool with bubbles. Cold water jacuzzi. Sauna out of order.
The bathroom tub/shower was like standing in a plastic bucket. the floors of the tubs are thin and flex noticeably under your feet, they are cheap vinyl inserts typically used in residential bathroom remodels. The shower head was garbage and was cheap and vinyl tubing that would not stay pointed towards you and the lack of a curtain literally floods the floors with random spray bouncing off you and as the shower head rotates wildly.
Decent but simple spring mattress. Clean room with 2 simple chairs and a built-in desk

No WiFi, no apology or attempt to compensate me, no admittance of responsibility. Selling you something then not delivering it... and also suggesting I go get a different laptop.
Cold Jacuzzi and Out Of Order Sauna. Cheap tubs and shower without a curtain.

7th floor room with no view of lake, 20-23 sq. Meters. An animal will cost you an additional 20 per night bringing the room charge to over 350 per night.

Overpriced and unsuitable for business. Perhaps they sell dedicated internet for what is no doubt an insane amount of money, maybe the suites are better equipped with adequate fixtures and amenities.

You are much better off looking for an Airbnb imo.

We were very impressed with the service at the hotel. The room was very large and we had a great view of the lake. We reserved E bikes at the hotel so we could bike around the lake one morning. I would recommend booking any spa treatments you want a week before arriving or they may not have openings.

Definitely NOT a 5-star experience. When you pay over $500 for an average room in a well-developed part of France, you expect to at minimum have air conditioning or windows open in the fancy hotel bar. Instead, what you get is a stuffy sauna experience there. I’m sitting there right now; it is 75 degrees F outside, and 85 degrees inside with no air flow and you can barely breathe. I’ve been here for 2 hours and I’ve asked 2 different waiters to open the door to the terrace, and both eventually obliged as if it was an odd request, only for another staff member to close it again. I’m not about to ask a 3rd time. How does management expect guests to have a 5-star experience if they can have a better one sitting on the sidewalk outside and breathing fresh air?

We had an amazing stay at Hotel Imperial Palace in Annecy. Our room overlooking the lake with a mini balcony was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We dined at both the Brasserie which was an okay meal as well as the casino restaurant Le Riva which was excellent value and delicious. Definitely the best location to enjoy the lake and mountain views whilst still being close to the main town (10 min walk).

Sorry bout that. I was talking about the Waldorf Astoria above. Was confused. L'Imperial Palace- bed was a queen. Room size was ok. I did walk in to a lake view room and the views are amazing. Sunrise facing. We stayed in a park view room. For Autumn- it was quite pretty. My favorite part of the hotel was the spa. We took advantage of the fact most guests were at breakfast at 8am and went for a swim then. We had the entire pool to ourselves. Made for great photographs! The room was a room. Comfortable but nothing to fawn over.

Dear Guest, Thank you for visiting us soon! Coming from Geneva airport is easier and more convenient by car; either with a taxi transfer or a car rental that can be rent in Geneva airport. This first option is the most convenient. The costs are around 120€ on weekdays with a regular sized car. Our team stays at your disposal, should you like to arrange a taxi transfer. Please also note that Swiss taxis at the Airport are more expensive. Otherwise it is possible to take a bus from Geneva; it is less expensive (around 20€ per person) but takes much more time and drives you to Annecy train station. Our concierge service is available for any further information on + 33 450 09 31 11. Looking forward to welcoming you soon. Best Regards. Steve, Concierge
