Hotel
Positives
+ Location – the hotel is on the “border” between the small commercial district and the old medieval town. Annecy is a small town anyway, but this hotel is perfectly centrally located for easy walking access to absolutely everything. The front door faces the commercial area; turn right from the entrance and you are in the pedestrian cobblestoned zone. Turn right again immediately and go up a few stone steps; you are on the north side of the hotel in a small park behind a cathedral. Straight ahead is the canal and impeccably beautiful paved and wooden bridge walkway, another cathedral, and the arched stone entryways into the old town. Annecy is an absolutely wonderful, magical, beautiful town and lake. Hotels are hard to find; this hotel is relatively affordable and it’s greatest asset is its location.
+ Parking – the hotel has a gated parking lot
+ Breakfast – small buffet; can eat on outdoor shaded balcony with pleasant park & town views.
Negatives
-rooms are old, worn, and in extreme need of renovation.

Room
Negatives
-very disappointing; this suite is the “best” room in the hotel. It is old and worn; the walls and furniture have scratches, patches, and stains. The entry hallway is totally wasted space; we put a suitcase there. The suite has a bathroom, bedroom, living/dining, and small wall kitchenette. Furniture was old, worn, and mismatched. Linens are tired, worn, and old. Mattress is flat and old. Bathroom is old; fixtures are old; no counter or storage space; dim lighting. Room felt unclean and worn. Kitchenette was helpful for the extra sink and small frig. Best part of room is the balcony with a view of town.

We enjoyed the convenience of a kitchenette in our apartment so we could store food in the fridge and cook a few simple meals. The “apartment” was well laid out with a door separating the kitchenette and bathroom from the bedroom. The bedroom was small but had a beautiful view of a park and large stained glass window of the church.

The bed had USB charging ports in the bed head which was very convenient. There was a working lift. The hotel is located within the old town with all it’s attractions.

My only complaint is the laundry room. You have to buy tokens from the front desk, which is fine. My problem is with the dryer. With my limited French, I couldn’t figure out the settings. Each time I opened the dryer to check if my clothes were dry, it wouldn’t restart without paying more tokens. This involved going back to the front desk and spending more euros. I had to do this twice, making it three times expensive than it should have been. I used many laundromats “laveries” in France and never had this problem with any of the dryers.

The hotel is located near to the rail station and near to, but not in, the most heavily traveled tourist routes which made quieter but very convenient. Like Berlin, breakfast was suspended due to covid but they were offering a room delivered breakfast for 7 Euros which did not sit well (we declined). This was especially disappointing because I had been eager to have breakfast outside in the shadow of the Cathedral. The air conditioning was also inoperative and as our room was at ground level, we did not leave the windows open at night. They provided a fan. The room itself was huge with storage everywhere--far more than we required. There was a separate seating area which was nice and the kitchenette was more than ample. As an appartholtel, the staff was not "at the desk" most times and the place is locked at 8pm requiring a code for entry. Overall, after the initial disappointments, we found it to be fine with the greatest asset being location.

Great stay at this centrally located hotel, in the heart and the old part of Annecy. Location could not have been better. The staff were extremely amicable and attentive and also very helpful. We had issues with our booking and they solved it without any issues. (We had booked with Booking.com) lesson learned, for next time I recommend that you book directly with the hotel, they resolved the problem that Booking.com did not want to own. Even though it was not the hotel’s problem. As for the rooms they were kitchenette’s and well appointed. We had a large comfortable bed, every thing was very clean. We also had the breakfast, which was extra, but fine. If you want location and family budget this is the place.

The hotel is very central,,staff helpful. Rooms very comfortable, excellent ac. The handicap studios bathroom excellent. Lady in breakfast room extremely nice. The breakfast itself needs much more variety. If you stay more than a couple of days, skipping it would be better. Would recommend this hotel in general.

Location - perfect. Literally in the heart of the old town. 5 minute walk to the main canal where all the liveliest bars and restaurants are. Just a couple more minutes’ walk to the lake.
Room Tip - request a room facing the cathedral and the gardens outside. It's absolutely charming. The windows in the rooms open really wide and there is nothing more perfect than sipping on a glass of champagne and watching people passing by outside the sound of the bells chiming. Beautiful.
Room - spacious with kitchen, living room and bedroom. Double bed and sofa bed that pulls out into a double bed. Complimentary toiletries are a nice touch and towels changed daily. The room was everything you need and more. Very clean. I would personally advise to have breakfast in the town and not the hotel as there are so many beautiful places to eat. You have just got to experience as much of the restaurants as you can.
Annecy - this place is a stunning. With all the cobbled streets and back alleys and hidden bars and restaurants, you just get lost in this town and keep stumbling upon beautiful surprises constantly.
This apartment-hotel is the perfect base for exploring this area. I would recommend it 100%

I spent a week here. Though I had some disappointments with my Privilodges apartment, bottom line is I would definitely stay here again. Small annoyances were that it wasn’t super clean (but it was clean enough); the staff did just the bare minimum (but they were quite friendly); and the WiFi was wonky almost every evening (but it eventually came back on). The kitchen was adequately equipped for only minimal cooking (but I worked around that.)

Hotel policy is that the guest cleans the kitchen. So you really have to wash everything yourself before you use it, because you know it has not been sterilized in a hotel dishwasher. This is fairly standard. Hotel policy is that to use the laundry machine, you have to use their soap. This is not typical of other hotels.

You can open windows if you want. Air conditioning is excellent. Heated towel rack is nice. In-room safe is handy. Water pressure is great. Mattress is firm. Linens clean and thankfully, not scented. Plenty of storage and racks with hangers. Refrigerator had a small freezer. And the staff spoke both English and French; and they were patient with my French, which I really appreciated.

Only one free outlet in my room, and you’d have to be a contortionist to plug in a cord there. Other rooms may have more outlets; I peeked into a few while they were being cleaned, and they were configured differently than my room.

I did not eat the hotel breakfast, but I peeked into the breakfast room one morning, and the buffet looked nice and well worth the little extra charge for it.

My review of noise levels is mixed. The breakfast terrace and some apartments overlook the park and back of church. This is an absolutely lovely view. Sunrise is more or less behind the steeple, so is picturesque. The church’s bell tower chimes at certain times, which is lovely. The park has beautiful flower gardens. You can people-watch, as many people stroll through all day and evening. Sometimes people picnic and play guitars or cards. There is a pétanque court at one end. But the park also contains a playground, so almost all day long, children squeal with delight not far from your windows. The Saturday night I was there, they played and shrieked until well after midnight. All other nights of the week the playground was quiet by 9ish. And almost every morning, a public works crew shows up to tend flowers and repair things, usually quiet operations, and leaf-blow, which is quite loud. Around 8 a.m. in leafy seasons, expect to be awakened by leaf-blower motors. In terms of hotel noise from other guests—almost nonexistent.

Whenever I consider next visit, renting an apartment with a better equipped kitchen in a quieter quarter, I think I really would not like to be anywhere but here. Privilodges Appart-Hotel is just a short walk from the train and bus station, the lake, the old town, two grocery stores, all the restaurant-lined canals. The few small drawbacks I mentioned are not worth going to another location.

The hotel is in the heart of Annecy, a couple of blocks from the bus and train station and on one side looks upon a lovely park, and the other a quiet courtyard. My room was very quiet at the end of the courtyard with a terrace that I could not enjoy because of the bad weather during my stay... The room itself had a murphy bed that was easy to pull down but the width of the room was barely more than the bed and the little console with the TV. OK for a few days but definitely not for a long stay. No reception after 8 pm so make sure to have your key and code to get back in...

It is a perfect location for the families with kids: playground is 100 m from the hotel, close to the lake Annecy, close to the grocery and restaurants, Good rooms and ect. But one thing put a black mark on the hotel. We asked for the later checkout because of the baby day sleep and got two opposite answers in 2 minutes from the same person. First that the hotel is fully booked and second if we pay for extra night they will give us a room...that they have to earn money....it was quite not polite from the staff.

We were originally hesitant to book a room here, as we like the idea of staying at hotels, especially smaller hotels, and worried that these apartments would be dingy or impersonal. But we booked it anyway, and are quite glad we did. As others have mentioned, the staff is helpful, the rooms are very nice and clean (and ours had a wonderful view), and the location is great -- right on the edge of the old town, and only a few minutes from the train station. One suggestion: don't sign up for breakfast, which isn't cheap. Instead, go to one of the nearby bakeries and get croissants and pastries. Our favorite bakery was on Rue de la Poste, a couple places up from Rue Royale (i.e., about a one minute walk from the apartments).
