Thanks to Le Prieuré for a great stay last week, on a ski trip with my wife, daughter and her boyfirend.
Everything about the hotel was fabulous. the location is just off the main street of Chamonix and close to the Chamonix Centre bus stop, with convenient access to all of the ski lifts and train station etc. The restaurants, bars and shops are just a two minute stroll away.
Breakfast is excellent and the hotel responded very quickly to some minor problems in the bedroom. The radiator control was fixed the very evening we reported it, and the bath tap the following morning, before 09:00.
Everything is clean and the ski-chalet styling through the reception, lounge and bedrooms set the scene very well for holidaying in the area.
Having an automated ski-pass kiosk in the reception is another great touch, so there is no time lost in getting to the slopes for the first lift.
Thanks again to all of the great team behind Le Prieuré.

Wow, this is probably one of the best rooms I have stayed in, over many years visiting the alps. The rooms were modern, clean, well equipped and with a lovely bathroom.
The location of the hotel is great for going into the town and also getting the ski bus to the various destination within the Chamonix ski area.
The breakfast was plentiful and had a good choice.
The ski/boot room was spacious secure and dried your boots for the morning
The staff were very helpful

This hotel definitely is a best spot in terms of location to Aiguille du Midi and Chamonix city center. Definitely recommend it if you’re looking for an easy access to the cable car ride. The hotel however is a bit below average in terms of comfort and cleanliness. Me and my wife stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The rooms we stayed had a musty smell and we also couldn’t sleep because of the smell coming out of the bathroom. A king size bed was made by combining two twin size beds. The gaps created by the beds made us uncomfortable to sleep. The hotel also provides bottled water for a ridiculous price. So, use your judgement on that.

All in all, we like the friendliness of the staff who allowed an early check-in and let us temporarily stow our luggage because we arrived way early and wanted to explore the city. The location and view of the French alps from the hotel was the best.

Dear Madam, dear sir, We would like to thank you for taking the time to leave your impressions regarding your stay. We are delighted to learn that you have been satisfied by the location of our establishement for its access to the main attractions of Chamonix. We apologise for the musty smell in the room, we are doing our best in order to fix this issue. We also have taken into account your remark regarding the price of the bottle of water for sale, and the gap made by the two beds in the room. We inform you that we mostly have two separate beds that we can make in one double room in each room in order to be able to respond to any demand from our guests regarding the bedding. It was a real pleasure for us to welcome you and we hope it wasn't the last time for you to visit us. Yours sincerly,

I have not got one bad thing to say about this hotel and our experience. We came for a skiing holiday and the location could not be better, approx a 1 minute walk to the bus which takes you straight to the ski lift, a ski rental and boot room on site and a 30 second walk into the centre of chamonix. All staff are lovely and the room was clean, spacious and had a gorgeous view.

I had booked La Croix Blanche for my 2 days stay in Chamonix but since it was closed because of covid our bookings shifted to this hotel.
Cleanliness was absolutely fine with sanitizer dispenser on every floor. They also followed safety norms of having masks as mandatory in the hotel and lifts could not be shared.
The hotel is very close to the Chamonix city centre and Aguile du midi boarding points.
Rooms were well equipped with heaters and necessary things like hair dryers, electric kettle etc. Room had a wonderful view of the Alps.
Didn't opt for breakfast hence cannot comment on that. Overall a perfect stay!

I had a very pleasing stay in Chalet Hotel Le Prieure in Chamonix. Its location is very close to town center as well as to resorts. The hotel is very clean and hygenic and also very warm. It has a good ski equipment storage room if you have your own ski equipment and a ski store next to it where you can rent ski equipment with 33% discount.

I chose this hotel based on it's location on a map. It was a great choice. We walked the short blocks from the bus station where we were dropped off from our trip from the Geneva airport. We were able to rent skis on location (we brought our own ski boots). It was walking distance to the Plan Pratz lift (although it was just about straight up hill). City Center was across the street and down the hill. Easy walk. The bus stop to get to the Balme ski area was across the street.

The breakfast was plentiful and filling. Our room was spacious enough for the three of us although it was stifling hot in the middle of the night. We never did ask or figure out how to turn down the heat... we just opened our balcony door.

The Chamonix area did not have very much snow for the season so the skiing was not great. But we were in the French Alps so we had a great time. We would 100% stay at this hotel again if/when we come back to ski.

This was a really nice hotel and we’d definitely stay again if we returned to Chamonix
The rooms were modern, clean and plenty of storage - the view was amazing! The hotel is in a great location - ski bus stop (free for lift pass holders) 1 min walk away, town centre 1 min walk away. The closest ski lift is about a 10 min walk away which we only did on the way home as it’s all downhill.
The hotel lobby and bar is a really nice area and the outdoor seating area is also lovely.
There was a wide range of options for breakfast and although it’s not the best breakfast I’ve ever had - there was something to suit everyone. We didn’t eat an evening meal so can’t comment on that.

I recently stayed at Prieuré and unfortunately, it we were not impressed during our stay.

One major issue was the lack of heating in our room. Despite the cold weather, the heating system did not work properly, leaving us uncomfortable throughout our stay. The insulation was also poor, as we could hear noises from neighboring rooms and corridors, and the road making it hard to relax.

The spa within the hotel seemed appealing (reason why we booked the hotel), but it was too small for the number of guests. It was crowded with noisy children, making it chaotic. The hotel should prioritize upgrading the rooms and improving the windows before investing in a small spa. I don’t want to imagine the spa in high season with 100 booked rooms.

Another inconvenience was the construction noise starting at 09:00 in the morning. We were not informed beforehand, which disrupted our peace and quiet.

The check-in time at 16:00 and early check-out at 11:00 were inconvenient. Allocating a five-hour window for room cleaning seems a little unreasonable.

Dear Sir, We thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear abour the heating system deficiency during your stay and we hope we were able to accomodate with an electric heat. Furthermore, we inform you that most of our rooms are currently under rennovation for soundproof, that it why you might have experienced some construction noise during your stay and we hope this hasn't impact the quality of your stay. In mostly hotels check-out is around 11 and 12 and check-in from 3 or 4 in the afternoon, but we'll make sure to make our housekeeping team understand that is well enough to clean all of our rooms. Best regards, The Management

We have just returned from our honeymoon in Charmonix where we stayed at the Chalet Hotel Le Prieure.
First of all we had an absolutely fantastic time; the hotel was immaculately clean, the staff warm and friendly and the breakfast had a wide range of options to suit everyone. Every guest is given a hotel branded glass water bottle to take out with them in the day and we were also left a lovely note and a small bar of local chocolate by the hotel by way of a congratulations; a lovely touch!
The hotel location is good and within an easy walk of the town centre for restaurants, cafes and shops.
There is a complimentary box of cards and board games in the hotel reception and a pool table too; and prices at the hotel bar are pretty much in keeping with restaurants around the town.
So why 4 stars?
The hotel could do with a few extra little things that would really take it to a 5 star review. The bathroom in our room needed a little tlc, a crack in the mirror and a little bit of mould in the shower. A bath would also have been amazing for post-skiing, especially given that there is no pool/spa in the hotel.
The trip up to the PranPlaz Gondola is a bit of a nightmare too. Its only about 400m but up a very steep hill (not walkable up with skies, but ok coming back down). The other option is to walk a few hundred metres down the road and chance getting on a bus up. We found this to be generally OK but was often crammed and people didn't manage to get on. Id quite happily pay and extra £10/15 a night if the hotel ran a series of minibus trips between say 8.30 and 10!
We also had a bit of an issue with returning skies to the rent and ride in the hotel. Not the hotels issue but a bit of a lack of communication meant that we had to walk our skies back to the centre of charmonix to return them on the last day as the on site shop closed on the Sunday for the remainder of the season.
Overall we had a truly wonderful time and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone skiing in charmonix.

Dear Sir, We thank for sharing your feedback with other travellers. We are delighted that you enjoyed you stay in Chamonix and we would like to send you our congratulations once again. We are delighted that you enjoyed your room as well as the breakfast selection. We are also delighted that you appreciated our staff who does its best every day. We have taken note of your comments about the little things to improve in the room. We inform you that we also have rooms with bath in the hotel. If you come back to Chamonix in the future, make sure to request one and we will do our best to satisfy this request. Concerning the access to the ski lift, at this time of the year, the buses are often crowded and we take note of your desire to see shuttles from the hotel to the ski lifts. However, as we are a three-star hotel, this is not a service we offer at the moment. We will also make sure to improve the communication related to the closure of the Rent and Ride shop and we are sorry for the inconvenience. We would love to welcome you back for a future stay in Chamonix Mont Blanc. Best regards, The management
