I have been on a few ski trips and there is always a weigh up between location to slopes or town for me the location here was excellent; across the road from the major bus stop for both the airport transfer and ski areas. As well as this it was only a 5-10 minute walk to the major shopping/bar areas.
As we rented our skis and boots through the hotel (great price that included lift passes, breakfast and dinner) it meant only a short walk with equipment to the in-house rental area. Staff here were helpful and seemed to know there stuff in terms of advice with suitability of equipment.
The Spa was lovely after a days skiing and is something you have to do if you stay. The hotel itself was modern and clean and the staff were friendly.
The bar was quite expensive but no more than anywhere else in town (€7/8 for a 500ml beer) but comparable to a night out in London in terms of drinks prices, some cheaper but generally the same. The hotel menu was limited but good quality And easily enough choice for a couple of nights. There lots of nice places to eat in town as well, if all else fails there’s a McDonald’s.
The balcony views were beautiful and the double room was big enough If a little basic by modern standards. You tend to need space to dry stuff but the wardrobe coped with this fine.
Overall had a great time and will be booking again.

Pro’s:
1. Good location (bus stop to all Chamonix ski areas is about 20m from front door).
2. Quick, convenient ski hire (ski shop in hotel is rental depot and boot room all in one, so no need to walk out of hotel to rent or return kit).
3. Clean rooms with good quality en-suite facilities, just poor room lighting and I had a broken radiator; staff quickly gave me an electric heater.
4. Good breakfast, but no-one’s thought to put bowls and spoons next to cereal, or small spoons next to boiled eggs, etc which means a lot of searching / walking around to put breakfast on your plate.
5. Good selection of games in lounge (Jenga, Fussball, etc).
6. Friendly restaurant service, although sometimes a little slow.
7. Fun bar with a large selection of gins.
8. Free use of spa’s facilities and changing room after checkout works very well so that you can get a full last day’s skiing and still get washed / dressed.

Cons:
1. No hooks for hanging ski stuff in room (salopettes, jacket, helmet, etc) even though there’s plenty of space.
2. Noisy Chamonix refuse collection most mornings at 6:30 (I had a room facing street, may not be a problem with room facing pool).
3. No cake / refreshments / tea / coffee / hot chocolate on return from skiing.
4. Jacuzzi is small for a hotel this size, so it was full most of the time; steam room, sauna and pool are good.

Summary
Would definitely stay again if I return to Chamonix.

Dear danhuk, Thank you to have taken the time for such a clear statement. We are more than pleased to read so many points that reached your expectations! On return from ski, you may of course have tea, hot chocolate or even a “vin chaud” in the bar at anytime. We look forward to your next ski experience in Chamonix, and await your forthcoming stay at Le Refuge des Aiglons.

Fantastic stay. I'll start with the highlight which was the staff. From the reception to the bar and restaurant, to housekeeping, all of the staff here are total professionals, friendly, multilingual, and really seem to care about the guests. They made it a wonderful four days! Bravo to the entire team. The rooms are a little older, and I agree with the comments that they feel a bit dark, but overall, they have been updated stylishly and the housekeeping staff does a great job keeping them clean. There's a very comfortable, well-designed bar/hangout area on the lobby level with talented live music acts playing a few times/week; it makes for a fun vibe. The pool/sauna area outside was really nice after a day of skiing. Breakfast was well provisioned and in a nice big modern restaurant space. The location across from the bus is perfect for getting to all of the ski mountains, and it's a short walk to the heart of Chamonix. A great home base for a Chamonix trip!

We stayed here for a week as part of a group tour.
The hotel was so awful that we couldn't wait to leave.
The bedroom was truly hateful; half of the room was taken up by a corridor off which was the bathroom and separate toilet, leaving very little other room.
Minimal storage space.
The lighting was so awful that it was necessary to use a torch to find clothes in the wardrobe.
Our fellow travellers also complained of all of the above.
We had requested a quiet room; we were on the third floor overlooking the bus station and a car park plus the refuse collection and hotel deliveries occurred each day directly beneath our bedroom window, commencing at 5.30am.
By far the worst aspect, however, was the fact that every time I entered the bedroom, I had a severe exacerbation of my asthma, to the point that several nights I had to sit out on the balcony from 3.00am. There was a thick shag-pile carpet on the floor; I dread to think what it was harbouring. All bedrooms had the same carpet so there was no point in requesting a room change.
The shower could only be made to work by levering the knob to change it from the bath tap with a teaspoon.
Breakfasts were poor considering this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel.
We booked the BBQ evening meal on the Tuesday, widely advertised around the hotel. It was cancelled without any explanation.
Good points - very few; the staff were friendly and the hotel position in Chamonix was good.
Having stayed in hundreds of hotels over many years all over the world, including many third world countries, I can honestly say that this was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in.

The hotel has a good vibe, friendly staff and great facilities - great bar and social area downstairs. It’s also in a perfect location for skiing as it’s across the road from Chamonix Sud bus station, which has buses to all the ski areas.

However, we did find a few things a bit annoying about the hotel… the rooms don’t have many lights and with a dark carpet and dark walls, it’s very hard to see… we felt like there needed to be a central light added to the room. We also found it very hot at night, with no air con we found leaving the balcony door open the best option.

Breakfast has a good selection of cold foods, but the hot selection is quite poor. The scrambled eggs weren’t very nice at all.. and could do with some extras like mushrooms, tomatoes etc.

Overall great location, great staff and bar… but the dark rooms would probably mean we would stay elsewhere next time.

Been at this hotel a week. Absolutely loving the friendliness and above an beyond attitude by all staff.

Our first room was a twin room (229), it was very small and noisy due to road traffic outside day and night. We explained this to reception staff on day 1, the rooms overlooking pool were fully booked out but a family room was available for our last 5 nights, at an additional charge of €100 per night.

Our 2nd room (224) was exceptional. Very large bedroom with table to seat 4, and additional twin bedroom and reasonable entrance hall. The views were amazing, overlooking outdoor pool and mountains.

Breakfast was also excellent, all of very high quality and staff were constantly tidying and replenishing items, something to suit everyone. Dinner was great although limited menu for 7 night stay.

One night we forgot to cancel our dinner reservation and reception phoned to see if we were OK. Another night we ate out and the hotel sent us up 2 plates of petit fours. Absolutely gorgeous.

Rooms are comfortable although I would say lighting is poor. Great central location.

We would definitely stay here again.

The location of the hotel is perfect. 50meters from the bus stop both for the Geneva airport bus and the shuttle to the ski areas. It’s less than 15 minutes walk to all restaurants and shops in Chamonix and there’s also the cozy Little Box bar/cafe across the street.

The staff is friendly, there is breakfast available and the spa areas has a jacuzzi, swimming pool, steam sauna and regular sauna.

This is a great place to stay for skiing in Chamonix.

We visited for a 4 night stay in the height of the summer season. The ground floor has a nice lounge and bar area with lovely decking outside where you can have breakfast (not in the winter obviously). In the basement there is a modern spa with various treatment rooms. What sets this hotel apart from others is that it has a fantastic swimming pool with sun beds and loungers, perfect after a morning’s exploring/biking/hiking etc and with a view of Mont Blanc. We didn’t eat at the hotel as there are hundreds of lovely restaurants in the beautiful town where you can sit outside and see the mountains in the glorious evening heat.
We asked for a room for a with a view of Mont Blanc which was amazing and also overlooked the pool and outside decking. The balcony was so small there was only room for 1 chair. The photos make the rooms look lovely but in reality our room was extremely small and not big enough for both of us to move around at the same time. I can’t imagine what it would be like in the winter if you come back with full ski kit on. The ceiling and walls were all painted dark brown and it had a dark brown carpet. It was lit by a few not very bright wall lights and we had to use our phone torches to read at times. The bathroom was also extremely small. It felt dark, dingy and very cramped, certainly not 4 star quality or worth what we paid. The dark dingy feel continued in the corridor outside and was pitch black until the movement sensor light came on.
Fortunately due to the glorious weather, we didn’t spend much time in the room as the pool and outside areas are fantastic and it’s a shame the rooms (the one we had anyway) let’s the hotel down.

This was our second time at this hotel, first time was in summer, this time in winter.
This hotel is in a great location. It's just across the road from the main bus station, which is very handy, it's very close to the Chamonix - Aiguille du Midi train station and a short walk from the centre of Chamonix.
The rooms are a little dark, but spacious, comfortable and clean.
Staff are young and friendly.
When we visited in 2017, the restaurant was fantastic. The food was very nice. This time we didn't find the restaurant as tempting, but that could have been due to the different season, so different ingredients and different food on offer.
We will definitely be returning to Chamonix and would love to again stay at this hotel.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our break in Chamonix. Upon arrival the staff were not overly welcoming which was a shame as we had just driven 12 hours to get there. Our room was so tiny & so dark but the view was nice looking over the mountains and the bed was very comfy. There was no main light in the room, only little lamps dotted around making it feel even smaller. The cleaning service was not great as they left dirty glasses, didn’t top up our tea/coffee/water and just threw my pjs on the floor when making the bed. I spoke to reception about this and this was half-sorted that day. The room also came with no vanity pack (not even a shower cap) and no flannels! The spa was very nice & was welcomed after our hikes (the main reason we chose this hotel). We chose not to have breakfast at the hotel as it was so expensive so instead we had pre-bought bakery bits on the balcony which was lovely with the view! On the same theme the bar was extremely overpriced, beer was €8 for 500ml and cocktails €14. The drinks were nice but not worthy of that price. It was also frustrating because on arrival we were given a QR code that said ‘scan to find out everything about Les Refuge Des Aiglons’ and there was a bar menu. I ordered a glass of wine for €5,50 off this menu which they didn’t have in stock (it turned out that the menu was very out of date on the QR code) so they gave me a much nicer wine but when the bill came they had charged us €16 for this and when we questioned it the bartender explained that his manager had told him to charge us this amount!! He sorted this for us after some push back. It also turned out that on the actual menu it was €9 so they were just plainly overcharging us. When we needed advice on the local area the reception staff were extremely helpful, one lady in particular who couldn’t do enough for me, rang around restaurants to book us in for dinner & translated a webpage for me too! This hotel does not have aircon which we knew prior to arrival but we decided it was only June so we should be ok with the door open. This is what we did but every morning at 6.30am music started playing loudly from the outside restaurant and woke us up. On the last night we decided to eat in the hotel as we had an early start to leave & the food and wine was very nice but again overpriced. Fondue was €25 per head although as a whole Chamonix was quite pricey.

None of their rooms have air con . The rooms are small and you need to sleep with the door open which if you overlook the mountain can be noisy as people sit on the deck below smoking and drinking

Hello Departure, Buses to all lift departures are just across the road. They are free with your ski pass, which you can buy at the hotel. By car, depending of the traffic, it takes about 4 minutes to get to the foot of the Brévent ski area. Best regards, Philippe
