This hotel is very well located, approximately 10 minutes bus ride from chamonix centre. Bus stop and train station within a few minutes walk (a little more difficult in ski boots however). We arrived at around 2.30pm so had to wait a short time until our room was available. Communication was a little difficult, although the staffs English was much better than our French. We hoped to collect our ski equipment, and were told that the Skiset shop opened at 4pm. Another member of staff told us the Skiset shop was closed on Sundays. We hung around for a while and the shop opened eventually. Generally, it seemed that the receptionists, although friendly, were unsure of a lot of things. Many questions we asked often felt like it was the first time they had been asked it. Our room was spacious, warm, clean and comfortable and our corridor was very quiet. Although not quite as modern as you would expect from the photographs. I wouldn't necessarily say this hotel was 4 stars, but that is in comparison to 4* hotels in England. We had to ask specifically for travel cards for use on the shuttle buses. We were also told that breakfast wouldbe €16 each per day - luckily I had the voucher stating that we had paid the bed and breakfast rate already. Another problem we encountered was getting water. There was only 1 small bottle of water in our fridge, so each night we asked at the bar for a jug of water. Sometimes this was given, another time we were given small bottles from reception, and others we were charged €6 for a large bottle. This was quite frustrating as water should be a standard thing to supply.

The breakfast room is lovely with great views, and there was a good selection of food. However staff at breakfast time were rarely present and often didn't say good morning/thank you etc.

The spa was nice to use at the end of the day, although the hot tub wasn't always hot.

The shuttle buses are regular and we almost always managed to get a seat. The night bus is also handy, for €2 each between 8pm and 12am.

Skiing is good in the area for beginners and advanced skiers alike.

We would stay at this hotel again as it is very well located for getting to the slopes at both ends of the valley, and warm and cosy after a long, cold day.

Thank you.

Lovely Hotel, in excellent location, and great facilities. Housekeeping could be improved - tea/coffee/milk/cups in our room were not replenished, and carpets could have been vacuumed more. Overall though, I would thoroughly recommend .

We found a great deal for this hotel, the location is great with access up and down the valley. As described the bus stop is at the end of the road less than 100mtrs away.
Our only disappointment was a lack of menu variety in the evening, its OK for 3 nights if your not too fussy.
Best efforts are made by the service team and there is plenty of english on the menu if needed.

We stayed at the Beat Western Chamonix the days before NYE this year and the places is just and absolute shambles. The staff has no idea what’s going on most of the time and are completely disorganized and speak no English whatsoever. Our ski pass was wrongly done, our room was never properly cleaned, they have no working WiFi, the spa is dirty, broken and smelled so bad.

We booked our NYE dinner at the hotel, which was even more or a joke - the staff had no idea at what time it started and it took us 2 hours to get main courses. I’m attaching my Vegetarian option of 95 euros!!

The check out was exasperating as the staff didn’t know what they were charging us. If you are looking for a pleasant, stress free stay, I recommend to stay away!

Dear Ainabarcelofornt, We are sorry to read your comment, Indeed there was an error on your ski pass which was resolved during your stay, all rooms are cleaned every day, the wifi works well but the network is very low because we are in the mountains, and also the spa is cleaned every day. For the menu of the New Year we are aware that there have been misunderstandings but we apologized and offered drinks. We take note of your comments, Our team always does what is necessary to best satisfy our customers. Cordialy, Clara

The receptionist people and management were really unwelcome and unhelpful. We booked a room which specifically mentioned “room with Spa access” , (the goal of our week-end was to have a welness relaxing time, we choose that place for that.) but when we arrived there they announced us that nothing was open and gave us no option to have a discount or a refund to change of place (not even willing to give us any kind of compensation to apologize, just told us that if we wanted to relax we could book an extra massage of course at extra cost). Nothing was indicated on their website or on booking they just told us that we had to call before to have that info. Quite a distance to the city centre as well with a fake “free navette service” which does not exist as you are just invited to take the local bus in the street. The heated swimming pool well, was freezing cold. From our room we had the view on the main street going to Chamonix, such a pleasure when you have to sleep the window open because of the extreme heat in the room. A four stars hotel that deserve a small two, to avoid if you are expecting a “luxury” service. That was a really bad experience.

I made a reservation for a few days at this hotel to do some skiing in early March 2020. My flight/trip were cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions. The hotel refused to refund even part of my pre-paid reservation including the prepaid breakfast. The excuse was because the booking was through booking.com. My friends who booked direct with the hotel were not charged. 422 Euros for nothing except rude email exchanges. I do not recommend to stay at this place as they showed zero empathy for a global pandemic that did not allow me to fly to Europe. I had to give a 1 rating but wished it could be zero.

The hotel advertises it self as a hotel and SPA, should you know that its only 30 minutes for the jacuzzi and 30 minutes for the Sauna.
We kept asking for extra towels and water because we booked a suite for 3 people and they never put enough.
I don’t feel the hotel is worth the price overall.
Its far from chamonix center where most stations are and i wish someone told me this before, even if you have a car the traffic is really heavy and parking impossible to find after 9.30 am due to skiers, the buses are very very crowded to a shocking point.
So actually being in the center is very handy.
The reception and bar has actually nice staff and they were always their to help with any concerns, i was even offered a drink by the lovely girl from the front desk in the bar, however upon check out my kids wore their ski boots to exit ( they didn’t know it was not allowed) i found the manager holding them to one side and she removed their shoes and was giving them a lecture on how they were not supposed to do so, i tried to explain to her that we didn’t know and that they are only children but she wouldn’t stop.
I had to beg her to stop repeating her self and to just let us check out, it was pointless and she certainly lack social skills and communication.
This incident did spoil our day and my daughter still remembers it.
The one star rating is for her behaviour that is not acceptable.

Dear guest, Thank you for your feedback. To access to the spa, you have to make a reservation, for a total of 1 hour. For safety reasons, we have to limit the entrance to 4 person maximum. Please mention how many person will sleep in the room, so that the housekeeping staff can provide enough amenities. We are not located in the city center of Chamonix, but at 10 minutes from it, by car, bus or train. At your arrival, you can ask for a "Carte d'hôte" which allows you to travel for free by bus and train. You can access a ski slope in 5 minutes by bus, but it is true that some ski slopes have a small car park, but we are not responsible for that matter. That is why, even if you have a car, we can provide you with a "Carte d'hôte". The buses can be crowded with skiers, but that's because Chamonix is a ski resort. We are truly sorry for the incident you had, it is a misunderstanding from our side. Sincerely, The front desk

Stayed 3 nights over New Years Eve. Was a very good hotel, breakfast was good, didnt eat at the restaurant, good bed good shower nice bathroom, good views. There is a skiset hire shop at the hotel which is very convenient. 5 min walk to bus stop, buses take 10 minutes to Chamonix 5 mins to Flegere cable car, and they run every 10 minutes in the day.

Everything was a good standard.

It was a surprise to find out that this hotel, at about 5 mn by car up the valley from Chamonix, was really good value, clean, comfortable and above all exceeded our expectations with their buffet breakfast and dinner …. We were reluctant to take the 1/2 board option but it was really excellent…. Thank you for a great stay!

This hotel has so much potential with it’s beautiful Mountain View but unfortunately our one night stay on a 16 night journey was below par. The first thing we noticed, the people were not friendly. And even so we were given misinformation from the hotel staff on which train to get off on for Aigiulle and that we could store our luggage at train station (which we COULD NOT). Thankfully a nice lady at Aigiulle let us keep our luggage there. The location to the train station was nice but if we ever go back to Chamonix we will stay closer to the city center area. The rooms were okay (it was the smallest on our journey) beds weren’t too bed so that was good. Breakfast was okay but dinner was way over priced and the pork had so much fat I couldn’t eat it. The view was the best thing about this hotel.
