My daughter and I spent 5 nights here in late February 2020 and give it high marks. The staff were very helpful and the room comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a good size and well appointed though the shower had a glass wall for only the first third of its exposed side. It took some getting used to showering in such a way that one didn't cover the bathroom floor with water. The pool was a decent size. There was only one hot tub and it was indoors (next to the pool) and it was frequently full.
There was a buffet breakfast (34 Euros/pp) that was very nice but one had to eat a great deal to justify the expense. In the lobby there was a complimentary hot beverage dispenser which made great cappuccinos, lattes, cocoas, etc. Instead of doing the buffet, most mornings we patronized a cafe next door to the hotel which was similar to a Starbucks. Heliopic guests receive a 10% discount at the cafe and when you check in they give you a discount card to use there.
The hotel runs its own private shuttle to all the local lifts which is a huge convenience. One recent reviewer complained that the Heliopic was "far from ski lifts." That reviewer obviously didn't understand that Chamonix is not a ski resort where ski in-ski-out is possible. The vast majority of all hotels are not near ski lifts.
Finally, the hotel has a wonderful and vast lending library of books, though most are in French.
We would stay here again if we came back to Chamonix.

Thank you so much. You are right, thanks to the free shuttles it is easier and not so far to go to the slopes 😉 However, the price you give for the breakfast is wrong. It is only 17 € per person. I am really delighted you had a great stay at the Heliopic Hotel and Spa. See you soon. Merci beaucoup. Thomas BARBIER - Hotel Manager

Easy to reach by car, private parking in the basement with a lift taking you directly to the floor of your room and it costs 10€per day.
Good size room compared to chamonix standards. Big reception area with free coffee and hot chocolate.
Location is not the best

Location is not the best.... but the rest yes....;) More seriously, our hotel is located at 5-10 minutes from the main street (pedestrian area) and the way is really pleasant to go. You are on holidays and it is so nice to take his time.... However I am thrilled you had a very good stay at the Heliopic Hotel and especially that you enjoyed our room. See you soon. Two nights absolutely wonderful !
The Reception has the real sense of the hospitality. The Spa by Nuxe is incredible.. Ice grotto, the most important swimming pool of Chamonix, hammam, sauna, cold bath and cocoons. The bar provides cocktails completely different and tasty.
The restaurant Akashon could give the fifth star to the hotel. Housekeepers are very kind and their work is in the respect of every hygienic rules. The room is just an excuse to be there. Thank you Heliopic team.

We stayed Aa a family of 5 in a hot tub lodge. They only clean the lodges once a week were as the hotel guests have their rooms cleaned daily. Not good enough for a 4 star, we brought our own cleaning products to clean ourselves in the end. Also the sound proofing is terrible, we could actually hear the conversations of the people in the lodge above us and footsteps going back and forth for hours at night.

There was one bathroom in our lodge which had a very loud pump system that whenever the taps were turned on mad a very loud noise for 2 minutes? Why?! Also the same issue when flushing the toilet, the travel cot in the room next to the bathroom was directly behind this and it woke our baby up many times.

The spa is nice, well kept but they are not that friendly if you have children. The bar is lovely, as is the reception area. Ski shop on site is convenient, as Is the shuttle bus but no one is overly friendly. Nice location but will not be returning

Sorry if you have not met the expected level of quality during your stay. But you did not stay at the hotel but in the apartments. It is not the same product. In these apartments equipped with a kitchen we guarantee your independence and indeed we do not come every day for the cleaning. The cleaning is made two times a week and never we asked you for cleaning the apartment at the end... never. About the spa, we accept children but the Spa must keep a very quiet area for the other customers. It is not ever easy to enforce, I agree. Hoping you will read my explanations. Sincerely yours. I have just stayed for 2 nights with my 8 year old son. We arrived before check in time (4pm) so the room was not ready but reception very efficient at tagging our luggage and taking it to the luggage room for us to store. And they actually delivered the cases to our bedroom later too :-)
Warm cosy hotel, nice relaxing vibe. My 8 year old loved the unlimited hot chocolate machine and sparkling water. There was also a fridge for kids to help themselves to cartons of apple and orange juice and pick a mix sweets…Lovely touch!
One day there was also a member of staff in reception giving out free ice creams.
Loved the lounge bar, a range of board games including monopoly and cluedo on offer and I was allowed to have a gin in the bar and play the game with my son there. Staff friendly and welcoming.
The rooms are modern, cosy, nice decor, we were on 3rd floor and looked over onto the cable car station Aguille du Midi so was impressed watching them go up from the balcony and was not noisy.
Can’t fault the room, clean, spacious, lots of kids movies in English.
Great breakfast buffet options although coffee machine not the best.
First time in Chaminox so got a 2 day pass and walked 15 minutes to Mer de glacé for red tram/gondola to glacier one day, and cable cars from Aguille Du Midi all the way up Mt Blanc for the most incredible views the other day (a must!…and try pick a clear/dry day and allow 3.5 hours for the trip including cable car time, and book a time in advance/for next day etc)
Finally the pool was lovely…sauna, ice cave, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and fluffy dressing gowns and slippers all included. Please be aware kids can only use all this 10am to 2pm.
I highly recommend this hotel to people with children. Walking distance to all shops/amenities, and walking distance to Flixbus for Lake Annecy or train station to Paris etc.

Very nice hotel, beautiful reception, nice decorations with large seating area and free hot drinks served all day and a chess game installed to be used free of charge, also children play area.
Rooms are of good size and well maintained furniture, bathroom is small but clean, the shower is a struggle since it is just under the slope in the ceiling making it difficult for average height person. There is no minibar but they provide complimentary water bottles, and coffee machine. slippers and bathrobes.
The attic room was bigger than the standard room but both have the same furniture and same balcony views.
The only thing I didn't like is the location. For me it is a bit far from all the shopping area and restaurants (a good 10 - 15 minutes) but for those interested in skiing it would be perfect as it is just at the gondola station.
I didn't try the breakfast in the hotel so I can't comment on it.
Also I didn't "appreciate" that they didn't allow a "one hour" late check out :(

Thank you for your review. Our hotel is full booked during the winter season (during the summer too.... ;) and if we accept a late C/O, we can not clean the room at 4pm for the next customer so we never accept. The beginning of the main street is less than 10 minutes and the way is pleasant to walk. The advantage is, you are right, that we are just close the Aiguille du Midi Gondola, the main touristic attraction. However, I am delighted you enjoyed your stay at the Heliopic Hotel and Spa. I rarely leave reviews but was so impressed by this hotel I felt I had to. The rooms were very comfortable (including the beds!). The staff were extremely friendly and incredibly helpful, they organised our transfers, ski passes and even restaurant bookings for our stay as well as giving advice on all sorts of enquiries. The ski shop on site was great, a little bit more expensive than going elsewhere but worth it for the ease and convenience. The Spa was excellent and particularly useful as the skiing was not great due to a lack of snowfall. The bar area was very comfortable and they provided free coffees, hot chocolate and water all day with free crepes and vin chaud in the afternoon. They also provided return free transfers to the local ski areas straight from the hotel. The hotel’s location was great for the centre of town and near to loads of restaurants and shops. All in all, despite the lack of snow, I think this is the best ski hotel we have been to in the Alps. Well done to the management and staff!

Lots and lots to like ... but one or two things could have been better.
Good bits: Really fantastic staff throughout, except for the quite surly man on reception. Special mention for the amazing restaurant and bar staff. Food in the restaurant is high end and won't disappoint. Fantastic choice at breakfast which is literally off the scale.
The spa is excellent. Good position in that the hotel is just a few mins walk into the centre but doesn't get too busy. The hotel doesn't have the views of a lot of other hotels and it's close to the main road but that's not an issue as it's quiet in the evening.
Could do better bits: we emailed ahead of time to request that lactose free milk was available and also for a quiet room to be allocated. Neither happened actually as the room was next to the lift and the milk never materialised.
Overall, can recommend this hotel for a summer break and absolutely recommend Chamonix which is a stunning destination.

Thank you sir for your review. About the room, it is not possible to accept all the request of the customers because our hotel is often full and with the long stays, it is just hopeless.... About the lactose free milk, we have (Almond, soy.....) but it is hidden in order to avoid the waste. Just ask the breakfast team. However, I am really delighted you had a great stay at the Heliopic Hotel and Spa. See you soon. Thomas BARBIER - Hotel Manager

The hotel is located right next to the cable car to the Aiguille du Midi, a 2-minute walk from the center of Chamonix.
The hotel staff provides excellent service.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the shower is pleasant and everything is well designed.
Breakfast was very good.
There is a small gym open 24 hours a day.
The spa area was pleasant but was crowded, the water in the pool was a bit cold for my taste.
The hotel offers small treats such as hot and cold drinks throughout the day, free fruit, small sweets, popcorn - all the things that make the place fun.
Definitely recommend

We stayed in Heliopic Hotel during the 3rd week of March 2022. We booked one of the apartments which had plenty of space for our 3 children (9,6,3) The ski shop staff were very helpful on our first day and we were pleasantly surprised by just how close the hotel was to the main street where all the shops, restaurants and bars were located.
A special mention must go to Cyrille and all the concierge team who go out of their way to help you get restaurants reservations, taxis, info about ski school or whatever it is that you require. The concierge service is most definitely 5 star.
The hotel is clean and well maintained and the lobby is very kid friendly. It is quite unusual that kids are not allowed to use the swimming pool after 2pm. It seems at odds with the other efforts of the hotel to be child friendly.
The private shuttle to the slopes is very convenient but we made the mistake of booking ski school and lessons for 9am which meant that we could not use this service as it got us to the slopes around 9 25/ 9 30. It is a much more preferable way of transporting young kids in ski boots with skis/poles etc than the public bus which is extremely busy and packed between 8am and 10am. However the bus stop is very very close to the hotel also.
The apartment was very well equiped, very warm and had plenty of storage space to unpack bulky ski layers. It even had a private boot room beneath it.Overall we would definitely stay here again if we return to Chamonix
