Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Merci to all working at Jeu de Paume!

My friend and I had a great morning using the SPA and the lunch afterwards was so delicious. The staff were super helpful and attentive.

We recommend this opportunity to anyone ...especially after skiing!

Nice rooms, welcoming staff at reception and breakfast. A bit loud between the rooms though. We enjoyed the breakfast and felt very comfortable with the friendly women who served it, even though it is a pity it isn’t included in the price from the beginning. Not many other options around for having breakfast. Our main concern were with a snobbish waiter in the restaurant at night, who made us feel not worthy of being there when not having starter nor ordering wine. Made an unprofessional impression, and made us eat elsewhere for the rest of our stay.

A car tour group had sole occupancy of this hotel. This hotel is a little difficult to find up a narrow road but well worth it. It has great views from the patio gardens where you can enjoy a swim in their heated swimming pool. There are plenty of seating areas. Brilliant French cuisine serving local fresh food accompanied by good wine. Our room was large, spacious with our own balcony. The staff were very helpful.

Hotel is nice but nothing stellar. A bit 'bric a brac' for the people enjoying French as a language. Meaning that decoration is not coordinated and seems to be somehow worn by time. Weather was very poor (48 hrs of rain) but of course the hotel couldn't do anything about it. 200 EUR for a premium room with balcony. I would say well priced for January. But please can't you put real glasses in your rooms ?

Do you actually know that throwable plastics (glasses) are now off limit in France ....

At the breakfast it was a bit like war time on Sunday at 10 am. Everything on the buffet was short and it took a while we could be served appropriately. Only 2 staff running like beheaded chickens. Clearly not enough. Owner is Canadian. She shall know better about service and what a 'clentèle haut de gamme' might expect.

But our real anger is coming from the diner we got served on Friday night. 148 EUR for 2. We ordered one dish (Riz Thai) and cheese + bottle of wine. Red Sancerre at 48/ bottle. I checked the price on line. You get the same for 15.85 EUR ....

I understand anyone needs to make money ,,, But please. What do you think.. That the 'Rosebud' (just the name make me smile) is deserving a 1 * at the Michelin or more ?

What's done is done ! Too bad we had this negative experience when paying the bill. Will not promote this place.

Carolle - Direction

20 mins from nearest bus stop up a steep hill. Was scammed 40 euros for a 5 minute taxi ride arranged by the hotel staff who didn't try very hard to help us in reclaiming it. Toilet separate to bathroom which was strange. However the sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool and breakfast were very nice. Beautifully decorated chalet in a quiet area.

We cheked in at 22.00. I asked where was possible to leave our lagguage after the check out. There was no a safe place, just the ski room. We had to leave at 07.00 for a ski competition. Breakfast was still closed and it was not possible to organize a pic nic. When I asked for a croissant in the morning they answered that we didn't reserve any. We couldn't use the swimming pool after ski in our check out day. Zero flexibility for a 4 stars hotel. In Switzerland this hotel would have 2 stars. Best

Dear customer, We appreciate your feedback, but we would like to say that we are sorry that your experience did not live up to your expectations. However, we would like to assure you that we are constantly striving to provide a quality service and an exceptional experience to all our guests. We would like to clarify some points mentioned in your comment. Firstly, regarding the storage of your luggage, we would like to assure you that our ski room is secure and monitored by us to ensure the safety of your belongings. No theft has ever been reported in our establishment. Regarding access to the pool after your departure, we have to follow the hotel's policies regarding the use of the facilities, which may limit access after the official check-out time. We apologise if this has caused any confusion or disappointment. As for the breakfast opening time, please note that our hours are designed to meet the needs of the majority of our guests, and we open the service at 7.15am to allow our guests to enjoy an early meal before their day's activities. Nevertheless, we take your feedback very seriously and will endeavour to improve our services where necessary. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future and providing you with a more satisfying experience. Yours sincerely

The hotel is very pretty, but it is not close to anything (walking distance). You can't get anywhere by walking. You need 20mins to get to the hotel from the closest bus station (uphill). So you would need to take taxis which are relatively costly. If you have your car then the location is great since it's a bit isolated. The views in the hotel and the hotel itself are amazing. The staff is not very friendly but fair.

My husband and I stayed one night at this hotel on a stop from Italy to France. It's quite remote from Chamonix township so it's obviously much easier if you have your own car. We opted to stay in the hotel for dinner and we weren't disappointed. The menu is quite pricey but the food was fantastic. Every staff member we encountered was helpful and friendly and they really made our stay worthwhile. The hotel itself is average really - a typical chalet hotel of its rating. On the plus side, the bed linen was really top quality and the bed was very comfortable - on the downside, we were kept awake by a whining noise which eventually drove me to using earplugs by about 2 a.m. We figured out it was probably coming from the pool area (our room was close to the pool). Other than that, it was a nice overnighter in a beautiful location.

It's nice room, swimming pool, jacuzzi, restaurant, basically we enjoyed. But it's difficult to reach there without car. From chamonix it's about 10 mins by car. Also whenever I went to front to ask something, there are often no person but the front man smoking and having a cafe outside. The hotel workers are resting and smoking just beside the front door. For me, If they put nice star rates of there hotel, it should be more professional attitude.

Rooms ok but located in front of a hill you cannot see the big mountains, expensive half-board and still you need to pay for bacon&eggs, Cheeseplatter at half-board dinner with a few pieces was 14EUR extra, waiter very snobbish and not interested to service you, even at the bar he left you standing there, cleaning the bar and never came back. Finally the bill was incorrect and too high and we had to check every position and correct a few. Altogether too expensive, no good location, partially bad service and incorrect bills - not recommendable.

Dear Guest, We are sad to read that you had a bad experience in our hotel and restaurant. We are sorry that there was issues with the bill and that you felt ignored by the waiter as our policy is to make every guest feel welcome and at home. Our Half-board is 54€/person including breakfast and gastronomic dinner. Cheeseplater is indeed not included but the cost of it when added to a menu is 8€, 14€ is the price à la carte. We do have wonderful views over the mountains, only a few rooms are located on ground floor with no special view but a terasse to enjoy in the summer. We hope that we can convince you to change your mind about another visit to our property. Please reach out to us directly if you would be willing to give us a chance to turn your experience around. Kind Regards Léo
