Great location near the lake. Staff members were pleasant. Was not aware that the restaurant was closed on a Monday. (I did not read the small print on booking.com). We did not try the breakfast so can not comment. Not sure that this hotel is value for money.

The hotel is situated in an idyllic location on Lake Annecy. Upon arrival at the hotel we were warmly greeted by Melanie. Melanie was genuinely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Lauren the person at the reception desk in the mornings was very helpful and welcoming. All of the staff we encountered were helpful and professional. Special recognition to Melanie,... More

We were attending a wedding and stayed for four days. From the time we checked in to our departure I found all the staff to be professional and warm providing excellent customer service. Our room was all that one would expect from a hotel of this standard, king size bed, turn down service, and to boot when you stepped out... More

You may pay a little more than the average stopover to stay at this wonderful hotel, set in a little bay with turquoise blue waters and its own sunbathing deck, but it is worth it! This renovated former abbey dates from the 17th century and oozes period charm and character. We had a room looking over the bay which gave... More

The building, particularly inside, is really lovely, somehow managing to combine modern facilities and historic features, perfectly. Service was impeccable, professional and friendly, without exception. The position, overlooking the lake, and the lovely grounds, where dinner was served most evenings, help make this a very special place. Our room was comfortably big enough for us and contained a king size... More

After four excellent days at the Ombremont Hotel (4* rating and 2 Michelin*) in Le Bourget du Lac we had booked a further four days holidays at L'Abbaye de Talloires. What a culture shock! To try and park the car was a disaster and took a while. A member of staff who was also the car park attendant took our... More

We enjoyed a one night stay at this nicely renovated hotel (former abbey) during a road trip, and were impressed by the professional service, clean, well appointed room, and generally beautiful property & location. The most professionally handled issue was that, unbeknownst to us, my husband forgot his wedding band in our room. A few hours after we checked out,... More

We stayed here mid September and had a standard double which was up to expected but with a very nice bathroom and great view of Lake Annecy. The hotel is not top draw but charming. It has the best position in Talloires with a lovely 'pontoon' to sunbathe and swim from and watch the locals pull up in their boats... More

This hotel is really beautiful. It is positioned at the edge of Lake Annecy and boats/ferries can transport you to Annecy or you can stop at other places along the lake. Swimming is permitted in the lake and there are sun-beds arranged on a terrace by the water for one's use. There is a lovely tree-shaded area to have drinks... More

Dear client, thank you so much for your highly appreciated compliments. The rooms towards the village are in fact situated over a part of our parking, but normally there is not much movement there and our vallet Mark tries to help where ever he can in order to diminuate the "traffic" if I may call it so. I am very... More

It might be a great building on a amazing location with awesome history etc BUT as far as a top class hotel it falls well short of expectations. No lift - too bad if you're unable to walk up stairs! Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Talloires, the most beautiful place on Lake Annecy is the home to the Abbaye de Talloires, one of the most extraordinary hotels in Annecy. It has everything: centuries of history, a long list of celebrities who have stayed there such as Mark Twain, Paul Cezanne and Jean Reno amongst many others. Fine dining is assured with the Aux Jardins des Delices gourmet restaurant and the light cuisine with the La Table de Cezanne brasserie-restaurant at lunchtime during summer. The historical wine cellar is filled with hidden treasures. Rooms and suites, each one different from the other are offering breathtaking views. The cosy and welcoming Spa; the vaulted bar for romantic evenings; the pontoon equipped with beach beds to escape the world, a wide choice of cultural and sporting activities and so many more. But, above all, it's the people who work here that make this hotel such a special place to stay, the Abbaye de Talloires is the only hotel in France to win twice ( 2009 and 2013 ) 4* et 5* Hotel Customers Trophy Award for its quality of service! ! ... more   less
