We filled the CHam with 51 people this year, our 6th time in this property with Ski Val. I really have said it all before in my previous reviews that the Cham, although basic, ticks the boxes for affordability, location, staff, customer service and value. We have just had an amazing week and would recommend it to anyone !

Very disappointed with the rooms. very filty, carpet never have been vacuumed for ages! and very disgusting stains and smell. When we first arrived We loved the location and easy access to the chair lifts etc. you can ski down to the lesson. We have to endured a blocked toilet and the smell that came from that everyday. They never... More

We have just returned from our first ever family ski trip and I must say overall we had a wonderful experience. Ski Val are the operators of the Chalet. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to accommodate our family and particularly our baby's requirements. They had a cot and highchair ready for our arrival and even... More

The location is pretty awesome... ski out / not so much ski in, unless you've mastered Le Face or off piste, which sadly my party had not. Still, the relatively short walk back to the hotel was nothing in the grand scheme of things and certainly not worth kicking up a fuss about. The Chamois D'or is well known for... More

54 person chalet/hotel run by Ski Val about 150 yards from the Olympic gondola at the bottom of La Face! If you are looking for a basic chalet hotel amongst the glitz of Val D Isere I think you will do well to beat the Cham. Good mix of room configurations for all types of parties. The centre of town... Just had a wonderful week at the Chamois D'Or. As other reviewers have mentioned, the hotel, built in the 1940s has seen better days but it is clean and functional and ski-in ski-out.The staff are super friendly and do everything they can to make the stay fun - booking lessons, advising on events, providing meals at odd hours and even... Just returned from the most fabulous week skiing in Val d'Isere as a guest at Le Chamois d'Or. We were dubious about what to expect of the chalet given the mixed reviews but I am happy to say that we were very pleased with the whole experience. We travelled with two kids (11 & 10) as part of a large... More

I stayed here this week with a group of friends. This is the worst accommodation I've ever stayed in. The rooms are dirty, the food is atrocious, the 'house wine' is basically undrinkable as is the tap water. The heater in our room did not work for most of the week. The bed was so uncomfortable I ended up sleeping... More

Just came back from staying a week at the Chamois d'Or, with a friend, both first time skiers, had a lovely time. The rooms were small as advertised, but comfortable and clean. The communal lounges were perfect just to hang out in after skiing and before dinner. Location of the chalet was good, about a 5 minute walk to the... More

We went as a family for a week on 13/12/14 and, whilst the snow in the village was rubbish (as it was across the Alps) the snow on the upper pistes was good. The hotel was pretty shabby and the rooms small, but that was as advertised; the public spaces were generous and the position in the resort was terrific.... More
