I spent a night at the Rheingold. Check was super easy. The service was polite and competent. The room was clean and comfortable. The price was right. The bartender made really great martinis. I would stay here again.

This is a Art Deco Hotel, 4 Stars but without a Restaurant. As there are so many good Restaurants nearby this was not a problem for me. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room as well nothing to complain about. Decortation of high quality and very clean. The breakfast as well very good and allot to choose from. Even fresh orange...

Very nice hotel with modern but not overdesidned interieur. Very friendly and sympathic welcome ar the reception. The beautiful and sympathic woman at the reception allowed us to enter the room early at eleven o clock (what was not possible in the other city hotels in Freiburg!). And even we were allowed ro make late check out without extra costs....

We checked in very last minute (the lodging we'd booked had a broken toilet!) and were pleased with nearly every aspect of this family-run hotel, which is a bit dated in a late 20th century and kind of charming way. The reception, bar, and restaurant staff were super and our room, mattresses, and bedding were very comfortable. Our window opened...

Very good hotel: clean, rooms refreshed and spacious, excellent restaurant and very helpful, service-oriented and problem-solving staff. Room was sparkling clean and the Internet connection was good (you do get really long and funky passwords, one for each device... that feature could be improved). Great wine and cocktails for the evening. Walking distance from railway station, universities and town center.

I booked the Hotel as it close to the Railway Station and city centre. The Hotel is completely over priced, has little features and benefits. The greeting on the reception is the most basic one you can image. The lift is very small, and somebody with a claustrophobia illness should take the stairs. The hallway is dark, a separate switch...

Hotel Rheingold is in a great location - a block from the main train station and city center. Like many smaller European hotels, the lack of air conditioning can make it a bit uncomfortable on a hot day, but the price, service and location make up for this slight inconvenience. The morning breakfast spread is as good as one would...

Nice and VIF room. Friendly and serviceminded staff. Garageparking for the car. Very good breakfast with everything you want. No aircondition, but a fan. This is not enough when it's 30 degree in the room. Bad wifi. Glasdoor to the bathroom. Strange.

This was almost the perfect place to stay in Frieburg. Less than a 5 minute walk to the convention center, the main shopping district, and the train station. Supermarket just across the street. For a family-owned hotel of less than 50 rooms, it is impressively clean and well-maintained. Rooms are large by European standards, bed is comfortable, and pillows are...

We have just returned from a ten night stay here, and really enjoyed our time. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. Contrary to what 'drsped' wrote there are only SIX smoking rooms in the whole hotel, the labelling on the lift indicator is out of date. We don't smoke, and are as such sensitive to smoke smell,...
