We stayed here for one evening on a drive through Germany. Hotel was not easy to find, is on the street in a residential area and no drop off in front. After driving back and forth a couple of times noticed a small sign across the street for their parking. The lot is about one third paved, the rest gravel... More

This hotel on Sy George's is very canny indeed . It may be a little dated in terms of decor but the food was excellent ... Could not fault the service either .... Private room for 20 guests and not silly priced either. The cuisine is a little dated being badisch but with a more modern twist. All in all... More

Staying here was a great experience. The food was a wonderful buffet, full of a wide variety of north american and german food. Although some do not appreciate some of the smoking and the "out of style" rooms, I thought it made it feel like I was really immersed in the culture of Germany. There is a quiet sauna room,... can't figure out why this place has 4 stars! it's located in a working immigrants suburb. the room/bathroom was small & the bed located under the slope of the roof is covered with a '60 type synthetic carpet as the room floor. the corners on the bathroom are "black". the breakfast is a joke. the scrambles eggs were at least... Very good hotel with excellent service and restaurant. Free parking and free wifi. Rich breakfast, nice room and good quality bed. Far from the city center, about 7 minutes by car. We like to stay there and the staff is very helpful.

Lovely place to kick back after 5 hours of driving through Germany, trying to find the wallet you left at a services. The Australian sounding waitress was immensely helpful in pointing out close we were to our unobtainable target! Nah, she was very helpful, polite and professional. The room was comfortable, the shower was powerful and everything was of top... More

The hotel has a rather old-fashioned feel, which must feel right to the retiree-aged guests who seemed to enjoy their stay while I was there. The rooms are large, but may have been last refurbished in the 70s. Still, everything is clean and decent, and there is even a small sauna that works well. I gave it 4 stars for... More

Wasn't really impressed, girl on desk didn't speak English, which is a big no in this day and age. Room was basic but clean, did wait 20 minutes to get served in bar. Wifi was another let down, could only get it in foyer. There was also a must smell in the hotel. Breakfast was buffet type and again was... More

Was in Freiburg for a conference @ the Messe (>20 minutes away). This hotel must have been decorated in the 1940's... with gross shaggy carpet, that becomes part of the furniture in the room! The bathroom was below average and really bad toiletries, which I tend to depend on since we can't carry any liquids in the plane. The breakfast... More

What a wonderful hotel! We have been here many times over the years (we have been coming for over five years) and try to make the trip from the UK at least once a year especially for this hotel.
