We were made most welcome by our friendly, helpful hosts. Our room was clean, comfortable, warm and oh so quiet! Our breakfasts were delicious and very generous with plenty of variety. There were even sandwich bags to take what we didn't eat away with us! (due to Covid each table had its own bread basket, meats and cheeses).
If we ever visit Oberammergau again, we will stay here again without hesitation.

Location was great. A few steps to the Passionstheater/Passion Play which was the reason for our visit. The whole room was super spacious and super clean. Breakfast complete and delicious! The view, fantastic! But the best part was the graciousness of our host Francizka and daughter Ana. Very helpful and friendly. She made us walk to train/bus station (very near)
and we had such a fun time doing that because the scenery by the river was so lovely! Took lots of photos. Made our Oberammergau stay perfect.

Extremely comfortable lodging, very close to venue and several great restaurants and shops. Owners were very helpful in getting us settled and ready for the Passion Play. We plan to return. English is very good. Theater is only 2 minutes walking, could not be in a better position. Parking is nearby and there is plenty of handicap spots if needed.

Just spent, February 23 through 28, 2008 at a superb, Bread and Breakfas (B&B), the "Gastehaus Neu" in Oberammergau. Ideally located in Oberammergau, with only a 2-minute walk into town, and with ample free parking in front.

It essentially adjoins the Passion Play theater. Each room is spacious, with private bathroom and shower, and international Cable TV. Moreover, majestic views of Bavaria from each window and as you walk out the front door! An enjoyable breakfast awaits you in the morning.

The owners, Anton and Penny Neu are the gracious hosts. Anton is an Oberammergau native and a woodcarver with his studio behind the Gastehaus - where you may see him at work. Penny, originally from England, is a wealth of information of Bavaria. She can afford you with suggestions and directions to all the memorable and scenic areas.

In addition to the B&B rooms, there is also a “Holiday House”, which is a large 2-floor unit, for families. Rates start at about 26 Euros’, per person, but call or e-mail Penny, for complete pricing and availablity.

We cannot recommend more highly, this wonderful B&B and family.

Our room was spacious and clean, with a modern bathroom, small sitting area, and access to the back porch overlooking the mountains. Breakfast was typical Bavarian. The innkeeper, Anton, is accommodating and friendly; he told stories during breakfast and recommended activities and hiking routes. The guesthouse is six minutes to the train station and three minutes to the town center. The website is outdated, so call for reservations.

We stayed in Gastehaus Neu for 2 days in April 2012. The location is wonderful, you are 5 mins from the very centre of the charming Ober. The owner Anton is very friendly and welcoming. Our room was spotless and very spacious with a nice, wodden balcony. Breakfast was served in a cozy room downstairs and consisted of juice, fruit, fresh bread, ham, cheese, coffee/tea & butter. On the website of Gastehaus Neu the prices are a bit lower to what we were charged, so just keep that in mind while booking. If I could add just one thing to the B&B it would be wireless internet which would have really come in handy during our stay. All in all a very pleasant stay&great location for sightseeing Bavaria.

My wife and I stayed at Gastehaus Neu in early September for 2 nights. It was an excellent choice. the room was small but clean and comfortable and the hosts were very nice. Anton was kind enough to show us his studio. He does amazing woodcarvings!
The place is in a great location next to town and the train/bus station. An excellent value.

Positively THE best place to stay if you are attending the Passion Play this year (it's literally next dorr to the theatre). I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Bavaria (visiting the Ludwig castles/Romatic Road, etc.) and I couldn't have stayed anywhere else I would have liked better at any price. Some of the perks: free parking just outside the front door, wonderful breakfasts, fluffy duvets, charming views from every window/door, central yet very quiet (I slept in most mornings). But the best part is Penny Neu who is the ultimate Hostess, making sure your visit is perfect in every way.
