Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were in Oberammergau as part of a large group booking for the Passion Play and were allocated this hotel by the organisers . It was very good, ideally placed only 15 minutes walk from the centre of the town. Our room was a good size with a small but adequate well appointed bathroom. Breakfast was good and the two dinners that we had (one being the interval dinner during the play) were simple but very tasty. The staff were lovely and worked very hard to ensure that everyone was served quickly, in addition to several of them actually bong in the cast of the play.

Basic Alpine style room - but super clean and functional. Front desk person, Tanya was great and offered many suggestions in visiting the surrounding area. Check was super easy as key was left in mailbox and we met up with front desk personnel later in the day.

Excellent location, (on the edge of town), away from any crowds and noise. 10 minute walk to downtown centre. Free parking onsite.

Currently offering breakfast that includes hot breakfast as well as cold cuts, cheeses, breads, etc.,

We will be back..

On the positive side this is a quaint boutique hotel within easy walking distance of the centre of town. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean and tidy.

I suppose my mixed feelings started when the sign in the door stated ‘we are not functioning as a hotel’. Essentially it appears to be a small business and is not manned all the time. The key was easy to find and to key myself in to my room. The room itself was functional. No mod cons just functional. Quite small suitable for one person only. The walls are thin so you hear everything going on.

Breakfast was ok. Again functional rather than wow - which is how I would sum up the visit.

Happy to go back again as it served its purpose.

the service is really bad: they asked me to pay upfront my bills for 5days, and they would give me the invoice when i check-out only. I said that i asked for a rate without breakfast, they said that i have to take breakfast; it is mandatory even if i didn't have time for breakfast. They banged (not knock) on my door at 9a.m on Sunday morning to scream at me that i have to EAT. I was still in bed, they tried to open my door as they were afraid that i didn't hear the BANG nor the message. I thought i had a choice to skip eating at the hotel. I had to beg to have shower gel, they might have thought that i just need a little 20cl soap for the whole week. I can go on and on and on...The desk to work was really bad. For 111EUR a day, i was expecting a better service

We were there just for a meal as part of our visit to the Passion plays. It was well organised, the food was excellent, drinks served quickly, time was of an essence as we were there during the interval. It’s a 10 - 15minute walk from the main part of the town, but there is a free bus which circulates every 20 minutes.

The Posh hotel is situated just in outskirts of the inner part of the village. It is in a nice traditional building. There is of course no lifts so you have to carry your bags one or two stairs up. Our room had a very nice view over the mountains that surrounds the village. It also had access to a large balcony. The room was rather simple, and the pluming was not OK. The water in the wash basin took a very long time to disappear and it was hard to get a decent temperature on the shower and it was not stable. You had also shower in a bathtub that I dislike. The breakfast was just OK and the dinner was dull and not very tasty.

Stayed one week at Posch Hotel and everything was perfect. The room was clean, bed is like at home, bathroom was clean as the towels. Breakfast was more than enough.
Front desk (Tanya) was extremely helpful, fluent is English, German, Russian, Polish and maybe so on. Check-out was quick and easy.

Only can reccommend.

Stayed here for a week to relax and found this the perfect place to do just that. This the ideal to walk, explore and visit the area; it was cosy and always felt welcoming. The staff made us feel at ease and the room was clean and spacious. The hotel has the feel of traditional Bavaria but with a modern fresh feel. An excellent buffet breakfast was great to get the day started, we used the restaurants that were only a 5 minutes walk in the enchanting town centre. We will come back in the winter to ski and later to walk - so for us an ideal year round place. A real gem. The mountain views on the doorstep and from our balcony each morning were a real treat and just made us stop and stare.

I arrived at this hotel after I had made reservation in the US.The first impression, this is not what I had signed up for.The door was closed and a note at the door told me the room key was in the mailbox.Make a long story short the next morning I changed rooms. The Hotel is about 300 years old and had seen many ad ones and renovations. The room I am in now is very nice and spacious,a modern shower with nice tiles completes the room. The beds are firm and the bed frames and the Schrank, are made of pine.Having a shower in the morning,be patient it takes up to 10 minutes until the water is getting warm.Breakfast in the morning is OK,nothing fancy. The room is clean and my room faces the swimming pool and it has a nice outside sitting area.To town is about 800 meters and you will find nice shops and restaurants.
