Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We loved it here! It was friendly, lovely pools, great views and position, great food, spotlessly clean. It was a real treat for us. It was easy to access walking paths , the buses were cheap and frequent from just down the road.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and the service was outstanding. The staff was very welcoming and the check-in process was easy. The breakfast buffet was great and the location was very good as we were able to walk to restaurants on the main street. Our trip was in September and the room did NOT have air conditioning, so that is something to consider depending on the temperature. Overall, we would recommend if you are visiting the area.

We stayed here for one night during our weekend trip to Garmisch. I booked our stay through hotel's website as the prices were cheaper and there were additional offers.

We arrived early and reception was very kind to provide us early check-in. Room was lovely, large and well equipped with different amenities. View to the alps were splendid. We liked the wooden furnishing, giving a cozy european hotel feeling in a hillside town.

Hotel services were brilliant; they went extra mile to make our stay comfortable and accommodating our requests - extra blankets, specially arranged spa treatment slot even after closing hours, tickets to zugspitze, shuttle services and many others...

Location is also quite convenient; easy to reach on foot from train station.

Our stay was short and we couldn't properly utilize their amazing wellness area. Maybe next time. :)

I booked 3 nights at Staudacherhof as a present to my self for having survived three months of COVID lockdown in Europe and was unfortunately disappointed. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is an expensive mountain town, and after reading all the negative reviews for the mid-range places, I decided to pay over three hundred dollars (US) per night for one of the top ranked hotels with the idea that better to pay more to insure that I had a good time than to skimp and regret it. I miscalculated.

I booked one of the better rooms (Superior Alpine) on Hotels.com. When I got to my room I noticed that it didn't look anything like the pictures on either the Hotels.com website or the hotels own web site, which I had also checked. I went back to the Reception and they assured me that even though it looked nothing like the room I booked it was in fact the same class of room. OK.

The room remined me of a Best Western, but smaller than most and with no soundproofing. It was unique, but pretty basic. The bathroom was a bit dated. There was a small refrigerator with a few complimentary soft drinks, but no air conditioner. The bed had a hard mattress which they had tried to soften with a topper and enormous overstuffed pillows - really, they must be almost a meter square.

The first night, I hardly slept. With the windows closed it was too hot. With them open it was too damp, and the noise from the other rooms woke me up regularly. I also couldn't make the pillows work for me. I'm not normally a pillow critic. I've travelled all over Europe staying in Ibis' and Motel 1s with their standard bedding, no problem, but these giant sloppy pillows were impossible to get right.

There was nothing to be done about the lack of AC or the noise from other rooms, but the next day, I asked for a standard pillow. They didn't have any, but they offered me a foam neck pillow (?!) and a hypoallergenic pillow, neither of which did me any good. I don't think I got more than 4 hours of sleep a night. Definitely not the relaxing holiday I had hoped for.

This hotel clearly has a large fan base from all the reviews, but I can only surmise that they are based on the atmosphere of the place rather than the comfort of the rooms. As far as comfort goes, my best description would be to compare it too a somewhat cramped Best Western with older smallish rooms, uncomfortable bedding and no air conditioning. I regret making this booking

The best hotel I've stayed in. I loved the decor with its mix of modern elegance and traditional style. The room was simple but stylish, and had a view of the mountains. Breakfast was fantastic and the evening meals were the best I've eaten in ages - really exceptional food. The staff were friendly and helpful and sorted out my ski lift pass and transport for me. The spa is incredible - you couldn't ask for a more luxurious experience, especially after a day's skiing. It was a joy to stay there.

You will not find better quality for this value.
Everything you can expect, and even more. For me it exceeded all expectations.
The restaurant is available at all times: you have extensive choices at breakfast, lunch and afternoon cakes, and a 5-course dinner on daily basis. Feel free to take half-board or full-board if it suits you.
We stayed in the Farmhouse which is located separately from the hotel building, there are spacious rooms there.
SPA area, the lounge with local beers, ski shuttle and ski storage, attention to details and many other things that will make your stay a unique experience.

We would definitely recommend this lovely boutique hotel. The Staudacherhof offers so much for the size of the hotel. You get all amenities of a larger 5 star hotel. A buffet breakfast with something for every palette and diet is included with your reservation. There is also a complimentary drink at check in and a lunch of delicious soup and assorted breads and spreads. We missed most of the afternoon cake offerings (2pm-4pm), but it's an added treat. The hotel staff are exceptionally helpful and professional. The hotel is conveniently located to a host of shops and restaurants. Our last minute reservation was ideal for a 2 night visit, but would certainly stay longer.

We stayed for 3 nights in a garden suite (v large room, with separate sitting room, large bathroom and garden). The hotel was superb - room gorgeous, food of an excellent standard, and two lovely spas. What made the hotel stand out was the service from all of the staff, who were welcoming, very attentive and could not have done more to help us. We were slightly apprehensive about what it would be like being English guests, but the staff were amazing. Would definitely recommend this excellent hotel.

One of the best hotels we stayed at in Germany. In a qiuet spot but walking distance of restaurants and shops. Welcomed with a drink and gifted a salt jar when we left. Room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast had vegan options, including vegan yogurt which impressed me!

The hotel was clean and rooms nice. It was a few blocks from the main busy section, which was nice. Staff were very nice except for certain dining staff, who refused to sit certain people outside to eat when plenty of room. Breakfast had good selection. Lunch appears to be left overs from prior dinner. 5-course mean was hit or miss. Very good one night but not others. No real dessert choices. Will try something else if in Garmish again.
