Our goal is to meet all your wishes! What are you looking for when you go on holidays? You might wish somewhat more than the ordinary standard? Hence, it is not only about bed, breakfast and mountain view. What we mean is our characteristic pleasant and casual ambience, which surrounds the guests, wherever they are in the house, whatever they do. We mean the mountains just in front of the door. Well, we mean the typical feeling in "Garmisch": the discovery of the unspoilt nature during a walk through the gorge "Partnachklamm", the little thrills during a hang-gliding tandem flight or the "adrenalin rush" during an adventurous rafting tour through the gorge of "Imst". Our declared goal is to be an ideal base for all your personal holiday activities.

The Rheinischer Hof is a conveniently located, modern, efficiently operated family hotel. Its service, rooms and employees are truly outstanding in every way. The rooms are well decorated and spotless. The hotel is very convenient to bus service but close enough to walk to the town center. The restaurant is outstanding and offers many meal choices. Breakfasts offer many varieties of meats, cheeses, breads and pastries as well as an orange squeezer for fresh juice. A couple of American dishes but mainly tasty Bavarian foods. Don't pass up this great hotel. The staff is fluent in English and offers great tourist advice and information. The laundry service is outstanding and very reasonably priced.

We stayed here with two children for one week. The hotel has an excellent breakfeast with freshly baked brezels. The service at the reception is very nice and includes recommendations for tours and even hiking sticks are available. A highlight is the outdoor pool and the sauna facilities downstairs including a traditional Brechel Bad. We also booked the dinner which we also enjoyed every evening very much. The location of the hotel on the road towards the Zugspitze and the hiking areas south of Garmisch makes it very convenient to start tours by bus or even by foot (the Kramer area is easily reachable within 15 minutes of foot walk). We enjoyed our stay here very much and can absolutely recommend this hotel!

We stayed here for 7 nights over Christmas in one of the first floor Mezzo rooms towards the front of the building with the balcony facing the Alpspitze/Zugspitze. The room seemed much bigger than it looked on the hotel web site and it was spotlessly clean with modern fixtures and fittings, although the good sized bathroom had a bath which you had to stand in to shower. This wasn’t a problem for us but might not suit those who like a walk in shower.

You can help yourself to tea, coffee and some cold drinks in the ‘Kaffee Bar’ from 12:00 till 22:00 plus you can also bring in food from outside to eat at the tables. We thought this was a great facility and used it quite often for a tea and coffee when returning from the days sightseeing.

Although we didn’t use them during our stay the new Wellness facilities and indoor pool look amazing and I’m sure future guests will enjoy them.

Housekeeping is excellent and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

The only issue we had was the noise from traffic which didn’t quieten down until late at night, starting again early morning; also, the room floors are hardwood/laminate and as a result you can hear guests in the room above moving around quite clearly. Unfortunately for us the room above must have been occupied for 3 nights by what seemed like a troupe of ‘furniture moving clog dancers’!

All in all, a great place to stay in Garmisch, we really enjoyed it (apart from the clog dancers!)

The Rheinischer Hof is a good family-run Hotel that gives a pleasant stay in friendly Garmisch Partenkirchen. We stayed for winterholiday. A good room, friendly staff, great breakfast and a good choice of dinners in the half-board. An extra bonus that you could buy your skipasses at the Hotel. Great stay!

The hotel is located beautifully near the mountains. You can book double rooms or small suites if you travel as a family. The suites are located in an building across the street. The hotel looks like a typical Southern German building. Very charming. You can take a swim in the swimmingpool pool located near the restaurant, which serves nice food.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a very nice little town that looks like a typical town from South Germany.

The hotel is very good in most respects with a few minor deficiencies. The staff are extremely helpful and cheerful.
The hotel lacks a bar and restaurant which would make it more convivial.
The bedroom that we were allocated was noisy due to being at the front of the hotel on the main road.
The bedroom would be improved with the addition of tea and coffee making facilities.
The location of the TV was awkward as you could only watch from bed.

The staff was was friendly, courteous, and helpful. They provided maps and advice on the area, which in turn enhanced our experience.

The breakfast was great! Lots of items to choose from, hot items, breads, cheeses, coffees and tea. The dining room provided a relaxing area to begin the morning with great views.

We had a very large room with a nice en-suite bathroom, sitting area, and access to the terrace from a private entrance.

The location was perfect! When we return we will most definitely stay here again.

To my American friends, the bed is two twins together and the pillows are not as plush. Which takes some getting used to .

The welcome was fantastic and very accomodating. The restaurant staff, food and organisation was excellent. The accomodation clean, tidy and practical.

Thank you to everyone at the hotel for looking after us as a family for our 5 night stay. Thanks especially to John and Andreas who both treated us with the kind of service that you would never find in a chain hotel, including being guides to the local area and entertaining our children.

We hope to return again!

I will NOT stay anywhere else in Garmisch! I’ve been to Garmisch 10x and this is the best experience I’ve ever had.

The night receptionist, Rita is such a nice lady. The morning receptionist, Andreas changed my life. Born and raised in Garmisch. English is perfect because he takes time to engage the guests. He taught me about German culture; particularly, Freikülperkulture (FKK) and understood the rules of the sauna. I had brought my western mindset to Germany and he helped me be culturally sensitive. It’s one of my favorite things about Germany now.

I loved the breakfast. Cream cheese stuffed peppers, sun tried tomato’s drenched in oil and FRESH squeezed oranges! Totally worth 7,50.

THE BEST part was staying in #74, the apartments next door. It was huge. Living room. Kitchen. Patio. 2 beds and a couch. I regret ever staying at other places in Garmisch.

In the mornings I would jog to Kapelle/Veteranenverein-Garmisch. Such a beautiful run up the stations of the cross.

Andreas and Rita, I will be back! I’ll plan for family vacations here and will stay here for Passion Play 2030.

The hotel staff is friendly and helpful with any request. The room was spacious and clean. No parking problems. Rich and varied breakfast. A huge advantage for a sitting area where you can drink coffee/soft drinks from 12:00 to 22:30. You have to ask for a kettle in the room. We took advantage of the free bus trips through the "guest card". Walking distance from the center of the town is about 15 minutes. Special thanks to Rita - the receptionist.

Hey there, double doesn't mean two beds, no, it just means that the room can sleep two guests. We do have rooms with a matrimonial bed as well as rooms that can be set up as a twin room with two separate single beds. Every room category has both room types, although I would recommend going for a slightly bigger room for the Twin, so as to have enough space around the beds to navigate. Please contact us directly to check for availability, since the online travel agencies can't tell if the available rooms have twin beds or matrimonial beds, we would have to check that individually. Have a nice day! Andreas

Well, we are definately within walking distance of a bus, since it is right in front of the hotel -> couldn't be any closer, even if we tried 😅 The train station is a little further away, I wouldn't recommend walking from there to the hotel, but the aforementioned bus is going straight from the train station to the hotel, so no problem here 👍

Munich and train in, unless you need a car... But you can get that in Munchen too. You will have a wonderful stay over Christmas -- Garmisch, Fussen, Oberammergau, Ettal are all amazing in the winter. You'll love this hotel.
