Good location half way between downtown and the exhibition center. Clean rooms and good service. A very special thanks to the barman Abdel - very professional. He knows his job and knows how to make his customers feels at home. Another good reason to come back to this place for the next exhibition !

Hotel's Favourite
Arrived here late at night at my flight was heavily delayed. Check in staff was very efficient in getting me to my room straight away. Didn’t really have time to explore the hotel itself as I had to start my drive early in the morning. I was provided with breakfast with my stay. The breakfast offering was a little underwhelming but it did get the job done in ensuring I had a good start to my day.

Glad im a member lol. Well, started off a bad foot. We arrived 1hr earlier and told rooms aren't ready until 3pm. Check in time. Hmmm ok. Well about 40 people all waiting to check in at 3pm. OMG. Seriously making a huge group wait while the staff of about 6 stood there watching us like it was a Disney rope drop. Didn't offer drinks, coffee or anything. Finally 3pm and the mad rush began. The room is good, the breakfast included is terrific. And worthwhile. A great stay. Clean neat and a bus stop 190 right outside and SBahn 8min walk.

While the hotel stay was comfortable and the rooms a nice and clean we found the front desk staff rude and unhelpful. From the start they have shown no courtesy, I called up the hotel from the station to inquire about the location and landmark and found the person speaking to me couldnt care less about giving directions. Then when we arrived there, there was no one at the front desk. Since there are two Holiday Inns adjacent to each other we were confused as to which one is ours and kept the cab waiting to check. Finally we had to let the cab go as not one was there to answer our query. After a long wait the lady manning the front desk finally emerged from the cabin and was very rude with us. She couldnt find our reservation, we had to panic call the booking.com customer service and incurred a huge mobile bill for the international call only so that we could confirm our booking. She insisted we had not paid for our rooms and we had to argue and show proof of payment. Any query we had about the hotel amenities or sightseeing were unhelpfully answered. The person who looks after the snacks corner was the only congenial and courteous person. The hotel is within walking distance of a train station and the bus stop is right outside the drive way, There are some good restaurants about 5- 7 minutes walk from the hotel. Lidl is a stones throw away so are a few other grocery stores. Once you get the hang of the place its pretty convenient. The only reason why the rating is average is because the hotel is good and the rooms were comfortable and neat. Otherwise only based on their customer service it would be poor.

This is the first time I am writing a bad comment about a hotel, but here they really didn't bother about customer service! 1. We had to wait more than 45 minutes in a queue at the reception to check-in. The hotel looked quite understaffed. 2. We told the receptionist that our hotel room was out of toiletries. Although he noted it down, we didn't get any. We stayed there for 2 nights and no one came to restore the soap/shampoo in our room. 3. The reception never picks up the phone. 4. The people in the adjacent rooms were also having problems. They managed to call the cleaning staff. While apologising for the mess, the cleaning staff admitted that they were understaffed! 5. The air conditioning stopped working in the middle of the night.

My GPS failed, so I called the hotel for directions. The foreigner at the desk could only give me the address, not understanding what driving directions require. Then on check in, the same girl could not find our reservation; it turned out that we had been upgraded from the Holiday Inn Express to the next-door Holiday Inn. Having been there one week before, we missed free toiletries. After complaining, we were told they have been discontinued. As a consolation prize we got free parking. On a positive note: Reasonably priced hotel, comfortable and large bed, good breakfast, spacious garage, within walking distance of our favorite local restaurant, Pastello (see review).

Check in was prompt and polite. Recognising that I am an IHG platinum member, I was upgraded to an executive room, but it did not have a coffee machine as advertised, this was slightly disappointing as this is the main (albeit minor) advantage of having status at most Holiday Inn hotels Room: the hotel is very new and the rooms are very well designed and comfortable. The air-conditioning is good for a hotel of this class and was able to sustain relatively cool temperatures in the hot summer. The bed is relatively comfortable. In most rooms there is a small desk and a small rectangular sofa. There are coffee and tea making facilities and a mini fridge; there is a bathroom with shower; the water pressure is satisfactory; an iron an ironing board are also offered. Location: the hotel is a 10–15 minute walk from the Berg am Laim station – this is not terribly convenient, nor appreciable in the hot summer– it then takes a further 10–15 minutes by S-Bahn to reach Altstadt-Level, and if that is where you plan to base yourself this hotel has a rather suboptimal location. Alternatively, staying in this part of Munich you may be tempted to explore some of the less-visited areas to the west of the Isar. If you are based around the Messe this hotel may be good for you. The hotel food and dining outlets were not open during my visit. Pricing and verdict: typically 50–80€, there is pretty good value for money in this new, comfortable Holiday Inn with very nicely designed rooms. It takes 20–30 minutes to reach Altstadt-Lehel which is the major drawback.

Due to the pandemic, the Holiday Inn Express is closed, but we were offered the next-door Holiday Inn at the same price. The hotel is modern and clean. It is in the eastern suburbs of Munich and close to highways. Free Wi-Fi, free breakfast, but parking costs 15 EU/day. Breakfast was generous and good. The garage, as usual in Europe, is too small for large vehicles. There was an inch to spare on both sides, entering and exiting the garage via curved ramps.

Bad experience dealing with this hotel. Booked a room via Agoda in Jan 2020 and the full room fee was charged. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, my flight to Europe had been cancelled by British Airway and a future travel voucher was given. Under this special circumstance, I appealed to request for refund or any compensate voucher to be used in future and was REJECTED. I would say this is a very inconsiderate & unhelpful Hotel that I ever experienced so far. Super disappointed 😔😔😔 [I got no issue with all other hotels except this]

Actually stayed in July of 2019 but couldn't select that. After some confusion between the different Holiday Inns around this particular area we finally found our hotel. Holiday Inn Express right next door so be aware of that. Found this a bit far out from city but train station is a 10 minute walk away so that was fine. From memory I found a couple of staff a little rude but not enough to ruin our stay. Rooms were ok and would recommend this if you don't mind being a bit far out from city at a cheaper rate.
