There are fast and direct traffic connections to the main train station (1,2 kilometres), the city centre and the famous Bavarian sights. The Pinakothek galleries as well as other important art museums are just a brief walk away from the hotel while the world famous "Oktoberfest" and other sights of Munich, such as the "Marienplatz" can be reached within a few minutes ride by public transportation or by cab. The hotel features 162 comfortably, non-smoking rooms divided up into a Standard and Superior category, two meeting rooms with business facilities, a restaurant with international cuisine, a delightful garden terrace in the peaceful inner courtyard of the hotel, a modern bar and a parking garage for 70 cars. The rooms of the Standard category with a size of 22 squaremetres are furnished comfortably, in a contemporary style with warm colours. We were looking for a comfy hotel near Munich’s railway station as we were arriving by train and had a business trip to Nuremburg the following day. A quick search confirmed the Hotel Europa fitted the bill nicely. All went well until we got to our room which reeked of cigarette smoke. Fortunately we could open the windows but this sort of problem does not go away quickly. You often read how hotels fine smokers who defy the NO SMOKING ROOM sign – if it was my hotel ,I would have tracked the offender down and slugged a $250 cleaning fee. Housekeeping must have known by the way - but the front desk had no idea.
Not a great start. The property is reasonably modern – reminds me of an older Travelodge – and a little tired. Goodies included a fully stocked mini bar, power beside the bed, a couple of chairs and an excellent walk-in shower. The safe instructions are hard to read and there is no iron/board. There is a large lounge/restaurant/bar on the ground floor plus a garden terrace (would be a pleasant spot in summer). We relaxed and enjoyed cocktails at the lounge each evening before dinner from a very limited menu that includes salads, a curry, a burger, skewers and beef ribs. A comprehensive and very tasty breakfast is also served at the restaurant. The staff worked hard to ensure we enjoyed our stay – it’s just a pity a smoker had to spoil the experience.

Nice hotel, great breakfast and the one night we ordered from the restaurant for dinner that was good too. We stayed 6 nights of christmas and the rooms were good for our stay although the ladies who do room service are quite loud and on a few mornings the sounds of them outside out bedroom door at 8am was a bit of an irritating wake up call (we were right next to the lifts and the ladies seem to keep their trolleys there and run back and forth). Hotel put on complimentary mulled wine downstairs each night in the lead up to Christmas which was nice. Spacious and clean room.

It is a few minutes walk to the tram and then you can get the 21 into town (takes about 10-15mins on tram to marienplatz).

This hotel was great! Rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Arrived way earlier than check in time from Canada (we were exhausted) they allowed us to check in early so we could take a nap! Lol Asked for more pillows due to the pillows in Europe being flat, they were delivered right away. Breakfast buffet was delicious and had a really good selection. Every evening they had free mulled wine in the lobby bar. Location was not the best and there was a lot of noise/construction but it was near by transportation so it made the location better.

We visited Munich to tour Christmas markets and stayed for four days. Great welcome at this hotel during this time of the year, free "Glühwein" (hot vine) from 5 to 7pm, fully recommended. Transportation stops conveniently located, as well as many supermarkets, and a very close house of beer. The hotel is clean, service very kind, we could book different tours at the front desk. Breakfast amazing, take your time to go early as there is a lot to choose. Dinner also delicious.

The Hotel Europa is located on on a busy street in Munich. The room was nice and we parked on the street in front for free the first night and in the hotel garage for 13 Euros the next night. The breakfast cost 13 Euros per person but it was one of the best buffets we have seen anywhere. The Lowenbrau House restaurant is within walking distance.

While all the staff were very friendly, the room was extremely hot. I was unable to adjust the room temperature even though when booking it stated the rooms had air-conditioning, apparently they disable it over winter.

I asked reception if they could lower the temperature and was told all i could do was open the window to let cool air in. The hotel is situated on a main road, so that meant noisy traffic going by at all times of the night.

Neither my girlfriend or I slept well at all, we were too hot even with the window open. My girlfriend is normally a very cold person and wears multiple layers to bed, but slept naked while we were here and was still too hot, even with the window open!!

Additionally, the breakfast was mediocre at best, the fruit served was all tinned and not fresh.

Upon complaining I was told i would be offered an upgraded room during my next stay (upon availability) but quite frankly I wouldn’t even stay at another hotel Europa for free based of my experience here. It impacted my holiday as I didn't sleep well and was tired all day.

Lots of other hotel to choose from in Munich, i highly recommend you don’t stay here

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. It is correct that in Winter time we turn off our air con. We experience temperatures around 0 degrees in Munich and more or less all of our guests expect heating at this time. To turn on the aircon at the same time in the same building would be an ecological nightmare. I also want to mention that usually we offer at least fresh fruit salad, fresh sliced grapefruits and fresh pineapple salad. Please accept my apologies if it ran out during the time you had breakfast. Sincerely, Marcel/Hotel Europa Munich

We arrived last friday at Munich airport around 9pm, I called the hotel to ask if their restaurant will be open, however ther was not very good signal. Then, my girlfriend called the hotel again speaking german, the receptionist answered in a very rude way that there is not a language barrier. That was the first glimpse of the worst check in I had in my life. When we arrived the receptionist continued being rude and disrespectful. He assigned us the room 160 and we headed to that room, however he never told us that is in another building, when we came back we asked him where was our room, then he laughed at our face and said that he explained the location in the check in (which he clearly did not). We went to the room and the safety box was locked, there was not any hanger and was poorly cleaned. We had to come back again to reception to get laughed again at our face, after insisting we have got another room. The last thing is he said that the restaurant will be open until 11pm, we went at 09:50pm just to be told that is closed.
Overall the service has been appalling. We will never come back to the hotel and we will never recommend it to anyone.

In the period from 10th till 12th of September hotel Europa was my home in Munich. It was a very pleasant stay with all rules to prevent the Corona pandemic from being applied. By that, I meant wearing a mask at all times once outside the room. And, secondly, the plastic gloves supplied in the restaurant to be used at the breakfast. I also was asked to present my vaccination certificate.
The room was clean and so was the bathroom. A tea kettle was provided to be able to prepare some tea/coffee. There was a small problem: there were no teaspoons to be found. And this was a pity. The free WiFi was available and it work very well. Another small issue was with the remote control of the TV. It did not work well. perhaps the batteries were the problem.
The breakfast was a good one and with a lot of choices to select from.I liked the breakfast very much.
The personnel at the reception but also at the restaurant as well was very friendly.
I am sure that I did not stay for last time in this hotel.

This hotel had courteous staff and an excellent breakfast. Our room was spacious and they had a baby cot already placed in our room (we requested this at booking). The hotel is close to restaurants and grocery stores and is very close to a tram and metro that take you into the city center. We had a great stay!

I stayed here for a week. From my early morning arrival till I left I found the staff jumped to help. I paid extra for an early checkin which included breakfast. After travelling 30 hours non stop I really appreciated the option.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The housekeeping staff did a good job. (The supervisor needs to avoid chastising staff loudly and publicly.)

The breakfasts were very good with a wide variety of hot and cold dishes.

The location is convenient. The there is public transport nearby with direct services to the main tourist areas.
