We traveled to Munich from USA on vacation as our initial city of our European vacation and wanted to stay in the heart of Munich and the location of this hotel fulfilled that criteria. We walked everywhere - to Marienplatz, to Englisch gardens, to Hauptbanof...More

The oldest hotel in old Munich they claim. They’ve been practicing hoteliery here for 400-something years. It just proves the old claim that practice really makes perfect. Torbrau has perfection in almost everything. 5-star staff, comfort, hospitality and location. Not to sound trite, but wi-fi...More

This was my favorite although I have to say all of the hotels we stayed in were of very similar quality. Very centrally located. Extremely clean and well taken care of, friendly and very service oriented. Would highly recommend. The breakfast was wonderful.

I have stayed at the Torbrau several times in recent years. The location is great, on the central Tal and a short walk to the Viktualienmarkt and Marienplatz, on top of the Isator station. The service is unfailingly very friendly, very accommodating at the desk...More

The room, staff, and restaurant were excellent. Staff helped in any manner they could to make trip most enjoyable. The room, services and restaurant were also excellent. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Munich.

Welcome to Munich's oldest hotel! The 4-star Hotel Torbräu welcomed its first guests in 1490, a fact which can be traced in official documents from the time. Underground is simple (but you need to manage steps). There is a bus transfer or Taxi (circa 70 euro). Simon

Yes, there is an elevator to the guest rooms, however, to reach the elevator you will need to go up a half flight of steps. From what I remember I believe the hotel has 5 floors.
