This is a good hotel in Munich, especially for a short stay. Negatives: the hotel is a bit hard to find, tucked away on a small side street behind Kaufingerstrasse (walk down Kaufingerstrasse towards Karlsplatz/Stachus and turn left at S. Oliver to find the block it is on), and the area is deserted and seems a bit sketchy at night....

We stayed at the Mercure Hotels in Munich for four nights during an unusual hot days and the air conditioning was a huge bonus. We wanted to visit the museums and explore the city. According to our aim, the location is gorgeous, in a quiet side street and just less than 5 mins walking away from Marienplatz, the hearth of...

This is the third time I've used this hotel and always had an excellent stay. No issues with staff, cleanliness, room comfort, etc. It's what I expected. Location is ideal to Marienplatz centre and underground transport. Room airconditioned so no problems as night during summer stay.

The location is perfect. The hotel is two streets away from Marienplatz and everything is in walking distance. This really is the major selling point for the hotel. The room is of an average size with very average furniture but the air con was very welcome! As with all Mercure hotels the standard of cleanliness was very, very high and...

We stayed five nights at the Mercure Altstadt and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I selected it primarily because we wanted an air conditioned room in the center of the old city at moderate cost. It is well situated, just a block off the main pedestrian mall and removed from the bustle and noise but very convenient to all the...

We stayed at the Mercure for three nights during an unusually hot July. The double room with bath was comfortable for two people, and the air conditioning was a huge bonus. This hotel is ideally situated a block away from Marienplatz, and is on a quiet side street. We would definitely stay here again!

The location is terrific, very convenient. The room (single) was typically sized for German hotels (read small by US standards) and comfortable. The construction outside the hotel was very noisy. The weather was unusually warm so open windows were necessary.
