Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was the perfect place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing. Just a one minute walk from the bus stop and 10 minutes from the SBahn. The Biergarten was beautiful and surrounded by nature, the suite we had was perfect with our own kitchen and comfortable furniture. Everything about this hotel was absolutely perfect and delightful.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet suburban location. Rooms were very spacious with a sitting area and deck overlooking a stream. Staff was gracious and helpful.

If you want to stay outside of the central city area away from all of the noise and activity, this is definitely the place for you. Train access to the city was via a 10 minute walk (or a bus) for approx €6.60, or an easy drive if you have a car.

Restaurant serves upscale German food in a lovely setting. Breakfast was also excellent.

I've visited the location several times, but have not stayed in the hotel. The beergarden is delightful and the location of the hotel restaurant may be ideal for one's Münich visit. It's away from the city center, but easy to get to and. And, it's convenient to public transport.

Stayed for one night during the beer fest and had very poor service. Rooms were dirty and the beer garden we were promised was shut. Found a dead mouse where our toddler was crawling about in the room. The receptionist was uninterested and was unhappy to come and get the dead mouse. A curt apology was given. It was the most expensive hotel we stayed in on our holiday touring Germany and was the worst by far and does not merit the four stars.

My husband and I stayed for one night at this hotel. We have stayed at many Romantik hotels in the past throughout Europe and have never been disappointed. This was the exception. We had a junior suite that was spacious, but not well appointed. But the worst was the restaurant. We made the mistake of eating dinner there, and the wait staff could not have cared less about our service. After spending over 70 euro for a bottle of wine, the staff positioned the decanter on the other side of the table and then never poured us a glass and totally ignored us. Meanwhile, the two other tables around us, which had Germans sitting at them, were getting the royal treatment from the staff and owner. Their wine was being poured along with their water, and all their needs seemed to be met. I don't know if they don't like Americans, but we certainly got the severe cold shoulder. Check-out was even worse. We did complain mildly, thinking they at least would apologize or care, but they didn't. I will never stay there again, and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It was so bad, that I think I'll complain to the franchise itself. The Insel Muehle has no business being part of the Romantik chain.

Nice stay in a bavarian surrounding,The next business trips wil also be in this hotel. You don't have to leave the hotel for something to eat or drink because the beergarten is part of the hotel and for dinner the restaurant has a great menu.

This is a 600 year old hotel with classic Bavarian charm. A river literally runs through it. The grounds, gardens and pond are breathtaking. The dining room and outdoor seating are old world and elegant, the breakfast copious and delicious. The room was darkish and enchanting, with it's balcony overlooking the yard. Quieter than a whisper. Marco, the welcome party, felt like an instant friend. While not central to Munich, the property is set amongst endless walkways, canals and parks in a beautiful old neighborhood. They also have their own biergarten!

Did not know what to expect of a Bavarian Inn but was pleasantly surprised. Think old English Country Inn crossed with a Scandinavian lodge / sauna... Lots of wooden panels and beams!
Only downside is the lack of air conditioning as the weather was glorious, hot and sunny - so the rooms were to...

One word of warning, if you want a quiet room then please ask as some of the rooms over look an historic water wheel which is really loud...

Wonderful setting with it own 'biergarten' next door serving hot food, snacks and cold beer!

Its charming, old world, has a lovely steam running in the property and a Biergarten .
Its a bit far from the city centre, Marienplatz ,but has a bus stop close by and a train station thats a 5 min walk.
Its in a residential area and if you step out and cross the road and walk opposite, there are some shops and eateries that are interesting. If its your first time in Munich i don't recommend it , due to the distance , but i for one am going back there.

Everyone working here was so nice, the rooms are so spacious and comfortable. It was a very comfortable stay. The restaurant was very good. Loved that they allowed pets. Forgot to get Euros and the staff was immediately helpful in adding the Taxi to my bill and later exchanging euros. Beer Garden was delightful, such a great garden. I was there for work and was looking forward to a peaceful atmosphere to unwind.
