After one of the quickest checkin I ever experienced, I was shown a huge and comfortable room on the second floor. Bathroom and beds were absolutely stunningly clean and perfect! I can only recommend sleeping here while being in the metropolitain area of Munich. Staff and service are very helpful and polite. The breakfast was also extremely nice with a huge variety of products! Thumbs up for this hotel!

At first I thought that this hotel would be too far removed from the center core of Munich, but it proved to be very easy to take the trams and subways around Munich. It was a very quick ride from the train station. The room was very nice and spacious. The breakfast was excellent. They were very helpful at the front desk when we wanted to go to the airport by public transportation rather than a taxi. Look into Munich's family pass system for the trams and subway. It was very helpful to us even though we were just a couple.

This is a nice small family-driven hotel which we stayed at for 3 nights. Large clean and nice rooms, fine breakfast and super helpful staff. Overall good value for money. Only negative will be a bit traffic sound and some problems with the wireless network.

The staff is nice basically. But how dare you not inform us that your hotel is under construction before we arrive and check-in! I even thought that my eyes deceived me when I stood in front of your hotel. The environment of your room was also NOT clean. There was no electric kettle in the room and that one you gave to me form warehouse was covered with dust..............is that lucky?
Pictures speak more than words.

Dear Sir or Madam, we are very sorry to hearing such a review from you. We are very eager to inform every guest that we have several ongoing renovations outside of the hotel. Concerning the cleanliness of our rooms, we are very thankful for your comment and we know about the problems with this particular soap dispenser which we recently installed in just a hand full of our rooms. Unfortunately they are not fitting and are changing colors in a bad way so that we will replace them immediately! We would have been very happy if you could have informed us right during your stay so that we could have given you a chance to checkin another deluxe room or clarified the issues right away. At the moment all renovations are finished up to 98% and we are fine-tuning the last details. We are very sorry for the inconveniences and hope that we could convince you of our new hotel one more time.

The problem for me with everything here comes down to cost/location. The location is terrible, its a 500m walk from Obermenzing S-Bahn station. I understand the tram is a bit nearer. For me, when you travel that far out for a hotel at 83 Euro (excluding breakfast), I expect a little better. The room itself was ok, it was like a loft conversion, but the ceiling was high, so that was ok. The bathroom was ok. Everything clean. But all very average really. The breakfast was nice (7 Euro extra), staff were friendly.

Dear Guest, thank you very much for your review and that you liked our rooms, the service and overall cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel. Concerning your not so fortunate experiences with our hotel, we are sorry that we cannot fulfill all your expectations. Regarding the room-rate structure we strictly try to stay a little bit under the Munich's average room rate. At the moment we are also expanding our services and opening a sauna and wellness area as well as a totally new gym with modern equipment. Also parking, internet and bike rentals are for free for all our guests. Many of our guests like the fact, that they can reach the hotel very easily by car and access the inner city within a very short time by tram or train (7 minute walk). Many greetings from Munich

Staff are very friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is superb, offfering plenty of variety for everyone.

This Hotel would get 100% recommendation if it was non-smoking. Smokers are allowed to smoke on the balconies and outsdie this does mean the fumes reach all areas of the Hotel rooms which is really unpleasant for non smokers! Germany seems a bit behind the times on this subject and is surpising for such a 'health' conscious nations.

Access into the city can be reached easily by the number 17 tram and the bus & train will get you realitively troublefree to the airport. remember to purchase a three day ticket for travelling around which is cheaper, especially if travelling with friends.

Recommended for those who want to visit castle "Nymphenburg". Hotel is a few kilometers from this castle. Very clean place, high level service. We had balcony in room. Breakfast ir more than good, rich choice and tasty food. Personell is friendly. We have very positive memories, if we will have a chance, we will stay in this hotel again.

I book a Suite with 4 rooms
This was for 4 adults to stay
I arrived and was escorted to room # 42 which was 1 room with 2 single beds and 1 sofa turned into a bed, all in the same room
See my pics

Very disappointed
I was mislead

I am uncomfortable

Be careful, before you book and stay here;;

I did not get any room that looks even remotely like what is on their web site....

Dear guest, We are unfortunately surprised and to be honest a little bit hurt by your review about our hotel and the mentioned „misleading“ booking circumstances. It is not in our interest and not our usual way of commenting a review like this, but we want to state, that your experience and way of showing off your opinion is totally misleading further guests and is absolutely incorrect. Firstly we want to say, that our hotel offers three categories (all mentioned on our web page with according images) which are deluxe, comfort and apartment. We have never been selling “suites” to guests since the opening of the hotel. Secondly our house has never been offering a “four-room” room/apartment/suite as you stated. You specifically e-mailed us and wanted to book a small room for the cheapest available rate and even proposed to book a “two-bed” or “three-bed” room for four people to keep the room-rate low. Due to your special booking request, we also offered a room for a very low rate. Of course there can always be some mistakes and misunderstandings during a booking process or occurring inconveniences during a stay in a hotel, but we work very hard to try to comfort and service our guests the best possible way. This includes fair prices, transparent and real images as well as friendly and flexible service. We are very happy to receive constructive criticism and reviews in order to improve our quality and services for our guests. In case of further questions and annotations, please do not hesitate to ask us via phone, e-mail or contact form on our hotel website. Regards, The Hotel Amalienburg Team

We spent 2 nights during a southern Germany tour and chose HA because it was away from downtown and gave easy access to further travels north. The room, a tad on the smallish side, was very clean and comfortable. We had been in 5*+ rooms previously on this trip, but despite that the HA still held it's own. There was contruction during our stay, but noise was only during work hours. The parking is at a premium, but once checked in you have access to underground parking with a clever multi lift system, presumably for busier season? (I'd love to see it work). The breakfast is excellent, very fresh, well stocked, and kept tidy...staff were very attentive & pleasant. The daytime manager spoke excellent english having worked in Banff, Canada for 10 months. All around great experience. Be aware that there is no elevator, and 3 floors up on a spiral staircase is taxing...

I stayed there with friends in September, as we went to the Oktoberfest. The room was great, we all had our space an everything we needed. Breakfast was simply amazing. The best thing about the hotel apart from the rooms and breakfast is the friendly owner and staff - They went out of their way to make this a great experience for us. They gave us great tips about how to get around in Munich, it made our stay easy and we really enjoyed it. There is a tram station within walking distance of the hotel, so getting to the centre of Munich or the Oktoberfest is really no problem. Should i ever go back to Munich i will definetely stay at this hotel.
