The hotel is a fair way out of the city centre, however there is a tram located close by. There are a couple of shops and cafes within a 10-15 minute walk, other than this, there is not much close by. The hotel looks nice online, however the rooms are extremely dissapointing. The bed is massive, and yet the duvet and pillows look as if they belong on a single. The room itself was quite scruffy, with marks all over the walls, mould in the shower and an general odd odour. The toilet is seperate from the shower room, which is useful, however the door for both the shower room and toilet is shared. The toilet flusher kept getting jammed, resulting in constant running of water, this was fixed by trying to pull the flusher back level with the wall. The walls to the shower room, and the shared door are both made of glass, meaning that in the middle of the night the other person in the room is woken by the light coming from these rooms. The curtains do not fit the windown frame and are not blackout. Alot of light comes through both the curtain and round the sides. Online it states the room is soundproofed, this is not the case. The room was noisy and we could hear people outside and in the corridors. The bathroom includes a built in hair dryer, whcih looked like it was made in 1970. There were not enough plugs in the room and the mini fridge was not cold enough. There is a safe, which comes in handy for passports etc. The room also has a basic coffee machine, but we were only given two pods, after they were used, there was no more coffee in the room. We chose not to have breakfast as it was overpriced, especially when a short tram ride takes you to the centre of Munich, where lots of cafes offer much cheaper breakfast. The one positive about this hotel is the WIFI, its pretty good. We would not return.

It was our three day weekend trip in Munich Germany. We didn't have breakfast, so no experience on breakfast service. Hotel was close to train station not city center but was not problem when you have a car. Room was good and clean when we check in, changing towels was great but bed sheet :( Complimentary coffee and machine was great courtesy at the first day but didn't replace after that. It is very simple but contemporary hotel that close to parking or you can park on the street if available (we didn't have any problem) We didn't have time to use other facilities at the hotel but I'm sure all good.

A few minutes walk to tram 23 so you can get access to all Munich offers very quickly, this hotel is modern, fresh and great value. Excellent for all the family! The rooms are spacious, there’s a great gym and the WiFi is very good throughout the hotel - five stars from me.

Truth - I booked the Star Inn Premium two days before our trip to Munich (which had been purchased 9 months prior) because well, life happens. I traveled with my family (2 adults and 2 kids) and we got a room with two king beds. I had no idea what I was going to get. At first it looked very 80's building-ish and it didn't help that I didn't know if it was the building in front of us or to the side next to the parking. I walked into a beautifully modern clean and spacious lobby. The very nice lady who checked us in said she spoke a little English which I guess is German for "I'm completely fluent". She couldn't have been any nicer. The room was clean and modern but European sized for a family of four - it didn't matter we were only there to sleep. The room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels. We did eat breakfast one morning (16 euro per adult - kids free) which of course is steep considering you can get a cup of coffee and croissant for less than 10 euro. But the breakfast was pretty darn amazing. I love Munich, the people, and the Star Inn. BTW - we also saw a Star Inn in Salzburg and it was equally as nice.

I stayed here in March after coming back from a ski trip to Ischgl. The hotel rooms, cleanliness and standard is a bit above what you can expect for this class but it's in customer experience that they really shine. The staff in the front desk helped me to ship my skis back to Sweden after Lufthansa had made me not wanting to bring any sports baggage ever again. Apart from that they were always attentive to our requests which were many. :) We enjoyed a Sunday afternoon watching football on their TV. They have Sky Sport and Sky Bundesliga.

I went here with my family last January. The structure was good , it's located 5 minutes walk by the tram and the bus for the city center (almost 10 minutes for arrive to Munchener Freiheit). The room was wonderful and probably pillows and beds are the best of my life.At the reception we bought a ticket for public transport.

Good location. Clean modern hotel, but nothing special otherwise. Don't have any specific concerns but very average in general: average design, average breakfast, average everything. It's handy if you have meetings in the north of the city.

The premium Star Inn is a well furnished and equipped hotel. It is not in the main tourist area of Munich but suited me perfectly for a night between an international train journey into Munich main station and an international flight out the next evening. The rooms are well furnished (nice to have a coffee machine though supplies are strictly rationed) and the beds comfortable. The hotel bistro serves very simple fare (burgers and pizzas) so not a great selection for an evening meal). I was surprised to have 80% of the booking held on my credit card the which was reserved on my card the day before. Water is expensive at EUR4.50 a bottle and water is also rationed t one bottle per stay. There is a small shopping mall 7 minutes’ walk away with a supermarket, coffee shop and pharmacy - very useful. I have no complaints about my stay.

Stayed here for a few nights whist attending a conference at the nearby MOC. Rooms are very comfortable and clean and breakfast is reasonably priced with good range of options including vegetarian and gluten free. Easy 40 min walk into the town centre and plenty of local restaurants and bars to explore

We came for Oktoberfest. During our stay we were leaving our room and told the cleaning staff (male and female) that our room was free to be cleaned. The woman said she would clean it "later" in a dismissive way, we then walked downstairs. We immediately (within 3-5 minutes) turned around and went back up to the room to retrieve a jacket and that is when we walked into our room and saw an appalling sight. THE MALE CLEANING STAFF WAS INSIDE OUR ROOM LOOKING THROUGH OUR BACKPACK AND SEARCHING INSIDE OF IT. When he looked up and realized he wasn't alone in the room and we were watching he suddenly got nervous and then dismissive/angry and mumbled and yelled something trying to justify why he was searching INSIDE our personal bags, threw up his hands and pointed to the bed as if to deny what he was doing. At this point we felt VERY unsafe leaving any belongings in the hotel and reported it to the front desk. We informed them that we wanted no further cleaning and that our electronic safe was not working in our room, and that we needed this functioning immediately. The staff promised us this would be fixed-IT NEVER WAS. Each time we asked for the manager he/she was not present or called for us. We asked 3 separate times after the initial report of attempted theft. During our entire 3 day stay our safe was NEVER fixed or batteries replaced forcing us to carry all our valuables and causing great uneasiness and difficulty. To make matters worst, the SAME MAN who was caught red-handed searching through our belongings was STILL working on our same floor again, being given access to other guest rooms and gave us an intimidating gaze when he recognized us. As guests this made us VERY uncomfortable. They gave us beer coupons for the "inconvenience" which was pretty insulting. Do not stay here, the staff cannot be trusted and they do not do anything even when someone is trying to steal your stuff--NOT SAFE.
