Great place to stay. Room was clean and inviting. Staff was friendly and very helpful with advice on how to get to places. The traditional food was delicious, especially the Nuremberg sausages. It is situated next to the main rail station which made it extremely easy to get to. It is at the edge of the old town so made...

The hotel is nicely situated next to the main rail station (within a few steps). The food in the restaurant is very good (had the pork). However, you should be warned that there is no elevator at all! The rooms start on the 3rd floor, so you have to lug your suitcases up 4 flights of spiral stairs. If you...

We came here to eat and I love places like this, old school cool Great beer menu, friendly staff and very traditional food. The German kitchen is not for the faint hearted however, lots of pork and dumplings, heavy food. But for tired travellers this place does what places like this have done for centuries. They feed you, quench your...

Close to the hotel we were staying in, we went across the street. I had the tasty little Nuremburg sausages, and my girlfriend had the turkey schnitzel. I am quite sure that she thought the schnitzel was the best one she had on her whole trip The beer was great, and the food delicious. It seems like it provided a...

I have to say that this was my best restaurant experience in Germany. My hostel mate and I went on our last night and we both loved our dishes. My dish had an unbelievable mushroom gravy on a potato type dish and my friend had a meat dish, sorry I forgot the name, with tender meat. The dessert was also...

We visited the hotel in December 2014 as part of our Christmas break, having travelled up by Train from Munich. The Gasthaus Pillhofer is perfectly located for anyone arriving in Nuremberg by train, just over the road from the Hauptbahnhof. Located next to the Handwerkhof and within easy walking distance from the main market square and Frauenkirche, the Gasthaus Pillhofer...

We ate in the restaurant and received a warm welcome from the friendly and helpful staff. The food was plentiful and delicious. The refined bit... Instead of the sometime noisy bustle of the beer hall environment you get to sit in a quiet formal style restaurant the delicious food is better presented on the plate and you pay just a...

My husband and I stayed here just before New Year and had a great time. It was really good value for money; the room wasn't huge but was very comfortable and SPOTLESS. The shower was big, powerful and that made up for the fact that there was no bathtub. The hotel is really adorable, lots of quirky decorations everywhere and...

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Pilhoffer (4 Adults). Throughly enjoyed our stay and would return. The Staff are very friendly and welcoming, the rooms are pleasant enough and the food in the restaurant is very nice (especially the pork and dumplings). The hotel has a very traditional feel to it. This is a very...

We stayed for two nights in May and enjoyed our stay. A few things kept me from giving them 5 stars. The first was that there was no lift, so if you're on an extended holiday with quite a bit of luggage, the trek up four+ flights of windy stairs can be difficult (or after a night of drinking!). Also,...
