This is my preferred place to stay when traveling with American HS students. I really can't beat the value. We have stayed there numerous times and the experience is always positive. Parking is available on site inside the shed. It's a tight fit but I've put 9 passenger Mercedes vans in there before. Breakfast is traditional European fair with some...

Tried 3 times to get in for food here. Food is exceptionally good and authentic. They weren't keen for our little kiddies to come in for supper on Fri and Sat nights. Sun night was fine though. Tenacity paid off in terms of food quality. Would go again, but would avoid fri & sat night.

The wife and I stayed here for 3 nights within the past 2 weeks and was the third time to stay there over the past 8 years. This is a family run facility with somewhat basic amenities but can't be beat for a double room price of 59 Euro! An older facility but very clean in usual German tradition. They...

If you are looking for authentic regional dishes , this is it. Great food and very reasonable prices. A huge plate of saurbraten with potato dumplings and a terrific salad was only €8.90! The place was very busy on a Friday night, almost all were locals.

This is not a resort, it is a rather simple Gasthof with everything you would need. The family that runs it is very nice and the food is excellent (as well is the price). I would not stay anywhere else.

My wife and I stayed at the Gasthof zum Ochesen during the busy month of October 2012. The staff was helpful and friendly, the room was spotless and their restaurant was wonderful. Their large salads are especially fresh and tasty and make for a good change from the usually heavy German menu. Great location inside the walls of Rothenburg and...

We stopped to eat lunch here during our day-trip to Rothenburg. It offered a great traditional German food. My wife was very happy to have such a refreshing and tasty salad with fresh fruits and chicken. Good atomosphere and friendly owners.

Our room was suitably comfortable, but the highlight of this place is the food and location. It was a four block walk to the main square where the Kriskindl Markts were set up, but be prepared for about a 15-20 minute walk from the main train station to get there. Breakfast was filling, but it was the dinners that really...

Very basic but well updated rooms -- no artwork, plain color palette, new furnishings, remodeled shower/WC. Quiet location, comfortable bed. Breakfast was decent, service was friendly, but average. Parking spot made available for us, which was really nice. For some reason, the stairwell didn't smell the best, but the hallways and rooms were just fine. Excellent value -- located within...
