Comfortable, seperate bedroom, balcony, small kitchen - all you need for a few days in Berlin. Close to U-bahn and a short walk to Unter den LInden. Safe complex. A small dining table would have been nice. Shame we were charged 2.50 euro per day for Wi-Fi.

We stayed at Checkpoint Inn for Berlin marathon in September. The appartment is spacious and has all amenities and is very clean. Good WiFi and TV reception. Kitchen area is small but has the basics and a very efficient grill/oven, toaster, kettle and coffee maker. It is warm but easily cooled by opening the doors or windows to the balcony...

Very nice, close to almost everything and the U-bahn is around the corner. The kitchen is fully equipped incl. dishwasher and full size oven, so if you want to do your own cooking you certainly can. Nice terrace for when the sun is out. Lots of shopping and restaurants close by.

We selected Checkpoint Inn apartment as we were travelling with a baby so little kitchen and separate bedroom were needed. The apartment was clean and modern, the kitchen well equipped (incl. dishwasher, oven). The only minor disadvantage were the huge, quite uncomfortable pillows in the bed. Doorman/security guys downstairs are nice people but speak only German. Possibility of parking in...

The doorman in the appartments is very rude. Her directed me into their garage and got my car damaged. He just shrugged and called it "bad luck". I tried calling the manager. She answered after the 4th or 5th try. Emailed them after I got home and never got a reply again. The apartment itself was quite nice, but very...

Location : The location is very good, walking distance from main metro station. Down the building you even have a grocery store, open until 9pm. Very convenient since there is no room service nor breakfast. Walking distance you find cafes, restaurants and Main shopping street. The area is very quiet and safe. You are one block away from checkpoint charlie...

Centrally situated (near Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, Jewish memorial and museums). Easy to find from Friedrichstrasse station where train from the airport (Schonenfeld) drops you (10 minute walk). Berlin is laid out on a grid system, so as long as you have a map you can't get lost. It's in a very safe area, quiet, and has a 24 hour...

Stayed there for 3 nights, the place is convenient located within 5 mins walk to the subway. Supermarket downstairs was good to get some breakfast. Plenty of restaurants in the area as well. The apartment itself was new and comfortable, but could be a little cleaner. But generally it was good value for its price.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
