Hostel is at great location across the road to subway and near to AlexenderPlatz. Room and bathrooms were super clean. I was staying in ensuite so attached bathroom was equipped with all facility and modern bright look with high clean. Lockers. heating, and lighting in room was good. Common area downstairs is good place to meet new people. You can...

Overall this hostel provides decent sized rooms (we stayed in a private double), clean bathroom and a good sized communal area (bar, pool table, computers, lounge chairs etc). The staff work hard to accomodate needs and are polite and professional. The breakfast each morning could be considered reasonable if you get the roll/cuppa option (less than 3 euro). However the...

Highly recommended. For a hostel it is quite plush, and was a pleasure to stay in. Very clean and well-located on the U2 line.As an architect I had the serendipitous joy of discovering an architecture museum next door. The absence of WiFi in rooms is a bit of a problem that could be addressed.

This Pfefferbett earns my recommendations for its style, the nice building, lots of young international people and the open fire-place. Its so loved already that you need to book days upfront, and its already very crowded for breakfast and so on.

The hostel was great location. A hop, skip and jump from the metro and close to bars and restaurants. It's about 15-20min walk to Alexanderplatz. Checkin went smoothly, staff very helpful and cool bar/restaurant to relax in. The hostel seemed modern and clean. We stayed in a 8 bed dorm. Room was big, plenty of storage for luggage and lockers...

I arrived to a very warm welcome from Diana on reception, she was very helpful and friendly. I stayed in an 8-bed dorm which was clean, modern and spacious, with comfortable beds. The showers are amazing, the best I've ever had when travelling!! The lounge/bar area is great too, with an open-fire and comfy seating. The place has lots of...

Staff were lovely and it is close to a metro and also had food and a bar available 24/7 Wifi is a bit sketchy when lots of people are about and there is no kitchen area. The rooms are a bit dusty with grim showers. But if you just want somewhere to rest your head while you explore Berlin for...

The location is good, near the metro station and not too far from the city with good places to eat & drink nearby. The room was good, the shelf & individual light are a bonus, and the lockers are a decent size. One downside was the noise outside early in the morning, I think it was glass bins being emptied....

I stayed in a 6 bed dorm here in September that I had booked with a group of friends and we all really liked this place. Having stayed in many hostels around the world, this one was certainly at the top end! Positives: The room was clean and spacious, there were shelves with a light and socket above each bed,...

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights in August 2016. We stayed in a 6 bed dorm. Things we liked: -location: super close to metro and food. Interesting neighborhood with a lot of character. -light, shelf, and electical socket in each bed. Very convenient! -elevator -breakfast. There's an option for "quick breakfast." Like 3 euros for a sandwich...

Dear Beth, We can imagine your frustration when entering the room and find beds and lockers occupied. We rely on the mutual consideration of our guests, especially in the dorms. Cleaning the rooms while the guests are staying is sometimes a challenge. But please be assured that it is a challenge we want to meet! Thank you for your constructive...

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
