We stayed at Casa Camper for 8 nights in Nov and Dec 2010. It was a fantastic hotel, with friendly staff and a minimal but stylish aesthetic. The room was spacious, and we liked the bathroom area, with natural light if you wanted or close the blinds for 100% privacy. A fantastically large bed as well, great for falling in...

I recently stayed at The Casa Camper Berlin and wasn't sure what to expect. The prices seemed a bit high for boutique hotel, even in the so called trendy area that it was located. I soon realized that everything was included in the rate ( breakfast, drinks, except alcohol but there is still room for improvement ,) and i really...

We booked a suite over Christmas and had a surprisingly relaxing and refreshing holiday in Berlin. The staff were friendly and super helpful; suggested a fabulous restaurant for dinner Xmas eve when most everything was closed. The cafe on the top floor served a great breakfast and snacks; having food and beverages available 24/7 included was a bonus. The location...

The Casa Camper is a refreshing city hotel which dared to do things different where it is increasing the guest's convenience. Finally shower fixtures with a clear and sizable instructions without looking bad. I am not sure where to begin. We have received a very friendly welcome from the receptionist, who, not only showed us to our room, but also prepared a map of vegetarian places in the area. As we had to observe some dietary requirements, the hotel had no problem with serving things like soya milk or gluten free bread. The...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
