Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights recently as we were attending Les Mills Live. This was our first visit to Berlin. We got to the hotel by train from the airport rather than getting a taxi or uber and it only cost us 4€ each and was easy enough to navigate. First impressions of the hotel were very good, staff were pleasant and spoke English and we were had booked a deluxe room so we got room 806 which was on the top floor on the corner and had a view of the main road which was good as having a corner room we had windows all the way round so on a night it was great just to sit and watch the world go by. The room was really spacious and well appointed with a large bed, TV, coffee maker and fridge. There was plenty of hanging space but no drawers but still room to put your clothing. The bathroom was a good size with 2 sinks a large shower and toilet. The bed was comfortable and we had a decent night's sleep. Breakfast was included with our room and this was continental but you can also request omelette, scrambled or poached eggs. I would have liked maybe some potatoes on the side to go with the omelette as that is literally all you get on the plate but breakfast on the whole was decent enough. Parts of the hotel are quite dimly lit such as the corridors and the bar area which was never busy when we were there but the hotel was very clean and overall we had a very good stay. There is a small gym on the 8th floor and also a sauna in the hotel but we didn't use either during our stay. Location is very good and safe and we were able to walk to most places from the hotel but there is also an underground station right outside the hotel plus ubers and taxis are in abundance. We would definitely stay at the hotel again should we revisit Berlin.

Dear Jaseace, Thank you for your great review! We're delighted you enjoyed your stay, especially the spacious deluxe room with its lovely corner views, the convenient location, and our helpful staff. It's great to hear you found the bed comfortable and appreciated the room's amenities. We’ve noted your feedback about breakfast and will consider ways to enhance the variety. Also we’re sorry to hear that our darker design aesthetic didn’t entirely meet your personal taste, as we understand it may not appeal to everyone. We’re thrilled you had a great experience overall and would love to welcome you back on your next visit to Berlin! Best regards Your COSMO Team

Great location, half hour from Brandenburg airport in a taxi, 20-30 min walk to Brandenburg Gate, underground station just across the road from hotel with links to centre and outskirts of Berlin. Has bar and restaurant on site, with a couple of bars and restaurants just across the road. Lidl, 3-5 min walk away. Clean and welcoming lobby, lift access. Rooms are spacious, with large floor to ceiling opening windows. Electronic outside shutters and some rooms have additional blinds. My room (505) didn’t have working shutters (I forgot to report at the time) The other room 506, had working shutters and blinds.
As with most European rooms, no tea/coffee making facilities, but does have a stocked chargeable fridge in the room.
Large bathroom with towels and bathrobes provided. Along with hair/body shower gel, soap and lotion. Did mention to the team on departure, that the showers have little or no shower screen so the water floods and goes everywhere, not a quick fix.
Hairdryer in your room. Iron and ironing board located in an “ironing room (see pic). Located on fourth floor, and only one iron/board available so a queue might form?
Bar downstairs had good variety, I personally found the breakfast a little expensive for what was on offer (€22 per person) is a little much for if you just wanted cereal/toast and drink. Scrambled and boiled egg available but that was all I could see in the way of a cooked breakfast if you wanted. Lots of fruit and yogurt, bread choices, cheese and ham.
Very friendly and knowledgeable team happy to help and answer questions concerning transport and venues for site seeing.

I had booked on line for my son and I to share a room on the Saturday evening when Berlin hosted the DFB Pokal soccer final. We arrived relatively early by Uber and we were lucky enough to get a room which had already been cleaned and prepared ahead of the official check in time. This was a good send as we'd been traveling since quite early that same day, coming in from Dublin. Thanks to the friendly young lady at the reception desk for that!
Our room was quite large, very modern and well cleaned. There were huge picture windows looking out on the park below. The room had two, comfortable single beds and desk and a superb bathroom with large walk in shower area. The WiFi worked well, there were enough plugs to accommodate two electronically needy souls with a small desk.
My son had to leave early the next morning, well before the breakfast, but I got up much later and enjoyed the tail end of an excellent buffet breakfast which was included in our overnight bill of just under 240€. In fact I checked out at the last possible moment and then waited in the lobby before being picked up by another family member.
The hotel is a little way out of the main centre of this city but there was a U Bahn station just across the road on the U2 line. This fortunately took us all the way to the Olympia Stadion which was where the match was being played. So all good!

We’re happy our early check-in was helpful after your journey from Dublin and that you enjoyed the spacious, modern room with park views. It's great to know you liked our amenities and the breakfast buffet. The good:
Pleasant hotel, good facilities, clean, modern room, breakfast is good. There is a gym and sauna included in the price. We asked for hypoallergenic pillows and these were supplied. Service is prompt and courteous.
The not so good:
Our room was unpleasantly overheated. It felt like about 25 deg C and it was difficult to sleep. Windows cannot be opened. There are heating controls, but in our room, they were locked onto a preset temperature. Windows couldn't be opened. We asked twice for this to be fixed, but staff seemed unable to change it. The best they could offer was a floor-standing fan, but this would have made noise and simply wafted the warm air around, so we declined. I dread to think what these rooms are like in summer!
The hotel is situated on a busy 3-lane road, so there is traffic noise

Dear MDFD, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We are delighted to hear that you found our hotel pleasant with good facilities, clean and modern rooms, and enjoyed our breakfast offerings. It's also great to know that you appreciated the inclusion of a gym and sauna in the price, as well as the prompt and courteous service from our staff. We are glad we could accommodate your request for hypoallergenic pillows. However, we apologize for the discomfort caused by the overheated bedroom. We understand the importance of a comfortable room temperature for a good night's sleep. While our rooms are equipped with heating controls, we acknowledge that in your case, they were locked onto a preset temperature. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused and assure you that we are actively working to address this issue. Our ceiling cooling system operates differently from traditional air conditioning, and we appreciate your patience as we fine-tune the temperature settings. Regarding the traffic noise from the nearby road, we understand your concern. Please be assured that our windows are triple-glazed to minimize external noise disturbances. Additionally, we would like to clarify that our windows can indeed be opened for natural ventilation, providing an alternative solution for regulating room temperature. We value your feedback as it helps us identify areas for improvement, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more comfortable stay in the future. Warm regards, COSMO Hotel Berlin-Mitte

The room had mold and we weren’t compensated-just told…I’m sorry we will forward this to housekeeping…
This room was over 200 euro a night!
That is not ok, mold doesn’t grow overnight!
How LONG HAS it been since you scrubbed it properly? Otherwise just spraying bleach will keep it from occurring

Dear chandra_obrien, Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We take cleanliness and guest satisfaction very seriously, and we want to assure you that we clean our rooms daily with professional, sustainable cleaning products. Regarding the issue with the bathroom shower, we would like to clarify that the discoloration you noticed on the silicone and grout is not necessarily mold-related. Over time, silicone and grout can darken due to exposure to shower gels and other products. It is a common occurrence in bathrooms and does not necessarily indicate the presence of mold. However, we understand your concerns and assure you that we address any cleanliness issues promptly and thoroughly. We appreciate your feedback regarding the use of bleach. While bleach may be effective in removing mold, we prioritize environmentally friendly cleaning methods to minimize our impact on the environment and preserve natural materials, such as stone. We will certainly take your comments into consideration as we continually strive to improve our cleaning practices. We regret any inconvenience you experienced during your stay and appreciate your understanding. Should you have any further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Warm regards, COSMO Hotel

supposed boutique hotel with no boutique atmosphere nor amenities. if you look for a cosy, clean boutique hotel with atmosphere, personal charme and most importantly service and rooms without carpet: Then don‘t chose cosmo. personnel at reception is neither friendly nor competent, they were utterly slow, didn‘t know which roma had which equipment/amenities.
matrasses are normal, most rooms are with carpet. dark hallways without auutomatic light, needed to use the light of my cell phone.
summarizing: old hotel with beauty fresh ups. rather recommend the courtyard by marriott (280m) away, completely renovated rooms, also with carpet, but you know what to expect….

The hotel has a good location and the room was adequate. However, shortly after we checked in, we attempted to go down in the lift. It never came so after a considerable wait, we walked down the steps. I asked if they knew the lift wasn’t working and four women at the desk assured me that it was working, I just need to wait longer. Two hours later I wanted to go out and the same thing happened, so again I walked down eight flights in very poorly lit stairwell.
The next morning the same thing happened and we walked down two eight flights two more times. When I complained this time about the lifts not coming to the 8th floor, I was told that the elevator wasn’t working but the people were there to fix it. Later in the day, I tried again and it still wasn’t working.
It was a Saturday so we asked to be moved to a lower floor, knowing if it didn’t get fixed on a Saturday, it wouldn’t be fixed on a Sunday. The ladies at the desk later told me the elevator worked, it just didn’t go up to the 8th floor, and they asked me to walk down to the 7th floor with all our luggage to take the elevator down to our new room on floor 5. Why didn’t they tell us that two days earlier?
However they were accommodating and did move us down to a lower floor. We did say we would need to leave if we could not have a room on a floor where the lift was working.
Another issue that didn’t sit well with us is that they don’t light up the halls, the halls are all dark. The stairways that we took to get downstairs were practically in the dark and I had to use my phone as a torch to find the door, a bit scary. Also in one of the lifts, the light is out as well so we went down in pure darkness.
On a positive note, the hotel had bikes that we could rent and use which was good. And a few of the front desk people seemed genuinely concerned about the elevator and apologised to us.

Dear Globetrotter8829, Thank you very much for your honest feedback, which we find to be very genuine and fair. You are absolutely right, and there is no excuse for the inconveniences we caused you during your stay with us. Although both elevators themselves were in general working properly, it is to say that the elevator call button at the eight floor stopped his duty from a moment to another, so yes, you were able to use the elevators to go up to the eight floor, but you were unable to call it to the eight floor and thus had to walk at least one floor down. Such tecnical issues are indeed very rare, in fact, we cannot remember a single situation with any elevator call button since the opening of the Hotel. We contacted our maintenance company, which has more than a century of experience with elevators, but it was unable to resolve the issue on the spot. We feel that the biggest failure you experienced was indeed our own problem-solving. We are all trained to give the best possible service to our guests and to be flexible when handling situations, and it should have been us to inform you about the tecnical issue once it was detected, but in the contrary, it was you to who had to inform us, numerous times as you write, about it. To be frank with you, we are not happy with how we managed the situation and we took your own experience and your feedback as an example on how not to do it in the future. We´ve retrained the entire Front Desk staff and discussed your experience during our meetings with the department heads. We hope you may apologize us for the occured and we promisse to make it up to you the next time you may want to stay with us. After your departure, we also took the liberty to contact you directly in order to personally apologize for the inconveniences we caused you. Dear Globetrotter8829, once again, thank you for your feedback - it helps us very much to improve our services. Kind regards The COSMO Team

We stayed for 6 nights at the end of July in one of their Comfort Rooms on the 8th floor. The room was a decent size with a nice bathroom and a balcony. All in all very comfortable and well furnished rooms. Great beds and sleep quality. I advise to get a room towards the park.
Shower was really good, with lots of water pressure and really hot water (if you want to).
There was no "desk" in the room which was a bit annoying.
Housekeeping was on top of their game and the room was clean and fresh every day.
The hotel is very well located with easy access to underground and bus services. But Alexanderplatz, Berliner Dom, TV Tower, and even Checkpoint Charly +++ are also in walking distance.
Due to Corona restrictions we had to pre-book a time for breakfast, but all was very well organized and well executed. Kudos for that.
You can get a Kettle from the reception if you want one, but there no Tea/Coffee facilities in the room as standard. We brought our own coffee maker, so no problem.
We were checked in early and Mrs Martens and all other staff at the reception and breakfast were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Thank you very much.
There were a few niggles concerning the A/C (still working at an ok temperature) and some shades on one of the large windows, but that was not really a problem. Otherwise good Wifi and very good value for money.
A set of chairs and a small table would have made the balcony even nicer.
Unfortunately, due to Corona we were unable to enjoy the gym and the Sauna during our visit.

Nice hotel in a good central location on Spittelmarkt. Nothing to complain about the room, but the small side table that replaces the desk is a bit small if it is larger than an iPad. The WiFi is a bit choppy and the name "myCloud" seems a bit self-explanatory.
The lighting in the corridors is not good. It is understandable that they want to save electricity, but with dark walls (no windows in the corridors) and only a few light switches, this is rather unpleasant.
The breakfast was good, the staff very nice, friendly and helpful.

We've just got back and I can confirm there is no kettle or hot drinks facility in the room. The only negative in what was a very pleasant stay.
Bus, line X9 to Reuter Platz and then, the metro heading Pankow until Spittelmarkt. When you get out of the metro, the hotel is in front of you.
