The location is excellent for walking to many places in the Mitte area of Berlin. This hotel offers basic accomodations that are clean and bright. Breakfast is varied and is served in the lobby area. There is a small shopping centre nearby where there is a supermarket if you need to stock on snacks or beverages.

I stayed for 4 nights for a conference and was very pleased: location is great (mitte; close to museums etc); the rooms clean and efficient- nothing fancy and not too spacious but very comfortable; good breakfast; the staff was very helpful and friendly; fast, reliable wifi; and for 78 euro a night this was a real bargain. Will go back...

For travellers who don't mind having their accommodation a few convenient tram stops away from the city centre, Motel One Spittelmarkt is well worth the consideration. I was in Berlin for a 4-day conference and was pleasantly surprised by the facilities provided by the hotel. The room was on the smaller side, but very practical, comfortable, and met my needs...

It´s an almost perfectly situated hotel just a couple steps away from the Spittelmarkt metro station. You can also easily reach the museum island or even the city centre in a couple minutes. There are also nice restaurants in the surroundings. The hotel is modern, clean and there is friendly staff. There is everything you need to enjoy the city.

The hotel is very stylish and well placed, especially if you are interested in all the sightseeing around "Mitte". Friedrichstrasse is only ca. 7 min. walk away, next metro (U2) around the corner. My single bedroom was small, but pretty with a quite big bed for European standards (I think its queensize, or maybe a little smaller). It did not...

Really nice and well designed hotel with a very relaxed and friendly vibe. Public areas attractive and welcoming, probably the first time I've actually enjoyed spending time in a hotel lounge. The use of the large main lobby lounge area is very clever and it seems to change its mood as the day goes on, I loved it. Especially seeing...

A very nice hotel, well placed with easy access to subway (just across the street) and 10 minutes walk to Berliner Dom, Check point Charlie or Museums island. Hotel lobby is impressive and intimate in the same time, rooms are rather small, but nicely designed - king size bed is a plus and also bio-cosmetics from the bathroom. Breakfast buffet...

I checked in at this hotel in October and stayed for 3 nights. I found everything to be perfect. The rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are comfy. The rooms can appear quite small, but I had enough space for my luggage so that was fine. The breakfast is the same every day, but it is quite good, especially...

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
