Fantastic location if you want to be in the Steglitz area, friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms- however, we felt like back in the 70s with the green/yellow carpets and wicker chairs etc! decor is massively outdated plus they charge 1 euro for coffee when this was complimentary in all berlin hotels we stayed in. I’d still recommend the place if you want to stay in the south-west area due to the impeccably clean and huge rooms and the good customer service!

Great 3 night stay at this lovely spacious and reasonably priced hotel. Very helpful staff and wonderful breakfasts. Though it was a bit out of the Berlin city centre, it was very easy to get into the city with the excellent bus, train and underground services. This area was in itself very nice and hotel is just across the road from a square with water fountain which attracted a guitar playing busker on a Friday, market on Saturdays and flea market on Sundays. About a miles walk will take you to the Botanic Gardens and lovely eateries, bars, restaurants and good shopping area with Schloss Shopping Mall all at hand. A very vibrant but quiet area.

sadly we have very bad experience with The receptionist The receptionist behaved with us in a very very very disrespectful manner. This happened on Saturday night at 2:30 am The hotel door was locked and we were outside in the cold weather for a time Then he prevented me from taking my girl to her room, even though I told him that I would not stay here and that I would leave in five minutes, Then he refused to sit my girl in the lobby and asked us to leave or he would call the police and started threatening us in a manner without respect and screaming as if we were in his house and not in a respectable 4-star hotel !!!!! Then I asked him to call the manager but he yelled at me and told me that he is the manager and he does not have a manager Then he started repeating words in a strange language, maybe Hindi or Arabic, as if he was cursing us If he was able to erase this complaint from the e-mail, we will send it to several other places and we will put it in the description on the Internet and in booking and in all places because we do not accept to pay and book for a room in a respectable hotel and receive insult instead of a good word and good behavior He must learn to speak with customers with respect and tact and Etiquette ..I am a teacher and my girl is a marketing director. If he requested an extra amount, we would not refuse to accept and pay him I am sure the management of Hotel they will do something for keep the customers and people with good treatment and good services

Let us start with the good news first. The location is relatively good, close to a connection hub in Southern Berlin. But here is where it ends. Other than that, it is a run-down place with an 80ies charme, equipped with grandesse only in the stiff prices. The rudeness of the staff is legendary. I must also admit that I am increasingly allergic to main staff in hotels that is unable to speak German or English or any language common in Western societies. My recommendation is to avoid this place. The hotels of the Motel One brand in Berlin are good.

If possible, there should be a negative -5 for this hotel. No wifi, hotel staff is rude as if they are doing a flavor. Last night (31st Aug), I called the front staff at 1 am to ask why wifi wasn’t coming because I had a presentation the next day, and he said, “What can I do if it is not coming”... I am paying 145 dollar per day without wifi and practically can’t work. Horrible hotel, please don’t go if you want a good experience stay in a hostel thats much better than this.

Since leaving Berlin to set up my new life in California, I have stayed at the Hotel Steglitz International every time I visited my home town. This was also the case on a recent family trip. The location is unbeatable with easy access to S-Bahn, buses, and subway. In addition, you’re just feet from a major shopping area in Berlin. Furthermore, the super market right next door is very convenient to buy beverages and snacks until late night. Same with the Doner Kebab stand in walking distance. The breakfast buffet is superior to even the most luxurious hotels in town and my kids couldn’t get enough of all the choices offered. For me, Hotel Steglitz International has become my home away from home.

Excelllent hotel- well located - super clean rooms - big and comfortable and well designed for the business traveller. Friendly stuff and excellent beakfast. However - I wont be staying there anymore. The hotel accused me of smoking in my room - which I did not - and charged me a " cleaning fee" of tens of Euros without any reason, abusing the fact that I did not have time to discuss it before leaving for the airport - and not having anyone senior enough to discuss it wth.

We recently stayed for three nights, and we were a little disheartened on driving up to the building, as it is in a very busy, built up area, and doesn’t look very welcoming. However, that changed as soon as we walked through the door. Nice Reception area, and very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was large and very comfortably furnished. Some have said dated in previous reviews, and that is true to a point, but we were very happy with it. No view, as it faced an inner courtyard, but for us the quietness that that brought was very welcome. It was immaculately clean, and I didn’t have any issues with the Wi-fi. We had pre dinner drinks at the bar which was an usual room, in it’s decor, but the barman was friendly enough. We ate at the restaurant the first night as it was included in our package. The food was really good. Well presented, and served to us by a very friendly English speaking waiter. Breakfast, served in the same restaurant, was of an equally good standard. Plenty of choice, and beautifully displayed. The hotel is very well placed to access the trains and the underground to get into the centre of Berlin, so we left our car in the car in the adjacent car park for the duration of our stay. All in all, this hotel suited our needs perfectly, and I would recommend it to those who may be considering driving to Berlin for a visit, as it is easy to get to, and has car parking next door.
