Was a clean, friendly hotel, great breakfast. Stayed here for 4 nights as part of a Contiki trip, can not fault the room, location or staff. We did have a triple share room and one key though... with the three of us travelling we had to return the key whenever we left, couldn't access the room if we needed to...

The hotel from the outside looks very interesting and different. The staff are very friendly and operate a 24 hour reception. The even had spare phone chargers are adapters! The bar is reasonably priced and open till late. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The view wasn't very nice but having spending little time in the rooms this wasn't...

Decent hotel near the airport. It is OK for one or two nights but not necessarily for more. Room size was OK but the bathroom was extremely small. Don't take breakfast - only eatable thing was tomato and nutella.

I thought this hotel was quite good considering the price. My only issues were that my bed was two singles just placed together, which meant i could only really sleep on one side unless i wanted to sink down into the crevice between the two beds! My bathroom didnt have shower doors, and had a curtain instead, which often stuck...

When I booked this hotel as part of a weekend break deal, I was a bit apprehensive about what this hotel would be like due to the very mixed reviews. We stayed for 2nights at Econtel and have to say we didnt experience any of the issues that were raised by people. The hotel itself is located a lot nearer...

Room was a bit small. Breakfast good. Bar rediculously small. Nice location with bus stop outside. Short walk to restaraunts and bars. We got the bus - free for tourists - 9X and got off at the zoo. There are loads of shops withing easy walk from there.

Staff were friendly and helpful but the location of the hotel meant that we seemed to spend more time on the underground than at attractions. The hotel was what it was - cheap and cheerful. If on a budget it's a good deal but be prepared to walk and use public transport lots.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
