I normally don’t do these surveys, but after such an incredible stay at this hotel I felt obligated to do so. My wife and I have stayed in a fair number of the five star hotels in Berlin, but not one of them comes close to this one. The attention to every detail in design and service, the incredibly peaceful and quiet location, and the unique ambience all make this a special experience. It is worth the ten minute drive to the business center of Berlin to be at this hotel in this location. We have stayed at some of the finest hotels in over forty countries. The Schlosshotel is in the top five percent of these. And Levon at the front desk is a jewel!

Set in the fabulous leafy green Berlin Grunwald area, this discreet, elegant funky and friendly hotel is trendy and chic and a great place to stay. Spacious rooms are well designed and have everything you need, staff are fantastic, immediately make you feel welcome and nothing is a problem. There's a fine dining restaurant and a terrace that is great for the warmer months, and a beautifully styled bar with great ambience and vibe, yummy foot and cool cocktails. The property is a classic old mansion building from the 19th century, once a government building and a hotel for the last 30 years. There's also some parking onsite.

After 25 hours of brutal travel, I arrived at the Schloss Berlin hotel and was greeted by Levon. He gave me the warmest welcome that all my traveling stress fell away. The warmth, class, and elegance of the hotel and the staff is in a league of its own. Not only did I feel like a Princess staying in a stunning palace, the room was very comfortable and had everything I needed to enjoy my stay. I was able to relax in the beautiful bathtub and the breakfast options every morning were absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to come back to Berlin and stay here again!

I don’t understand how this is a “retreat” or a 5 star. Staff are friendly but that doesn’t make up for the shortfalls. None of the luxury or attention to detail you would expect from a 5* - no coffee or tea making facilities, no minibar, minimal toiletries, curtains that look fancy but let the light in, noisy cleaning outside the room early every morning, a very basic (and empty) restaurant with very slow service, room service meals delivered cold, a nice bar but no atmosphere (except for the private karaoke function going on in the adjacent room) and 10€ every time you order something to the room (€22 for a morning coffee, €22 for two bottles of tonic,…).
The pool is ok (apart from the bits of tissue floating around in it) but small (as is the sauna); the grounds are small and overlooked by houses. There is nothing around other than the forest and two decent restaurants so if you’re staying for more than a night or two you have to go to the city - a €40 trip.
So unless you have a car and are just staying for a night or two I really can’t see the appeal of this place nor what it is really trying to be. Sorry, but it was definitely a mistake to book this.
So for me neither a “retreat” nor 5 star sadly.

I booked a room for 3 people and got to stay in a room for 2 people with a double bed and an extra bed that was very uncomfortable. After one night I canceled my reservation and was supposed to get the money back for 3 more nights that I had booked from the start. A month has passed and I still haven't received the money back. I had a terrible experience and I'm still fighting to receive my money with no luck. The staff at the hotel are disrespectful towards their clients. Moreover, the hotel looks much better in the photos than it does in reality. The room was dirty and old. The overall standard is very low, I would personally prefer to stay at the cheap hostel in Berlin than at this hotel. I would strongly recommend to stay away. The breakfast was a joke, they served the cheapest and I found a fly in the cereal, disgusting! Shame on you, Schlosshotel Berlin by Patrick Hellmann! I'm traumatized.

Dear Filipz212, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly saddened to learn that your experience did not reflect the exceptional service we aim to provide. It is disheartening to hear that the room configuration did not meet your expectations; please be assured that our accommodations are designed with utmost comfort and elegance in mind, as detailed within our hotel's description. Regarding the issues you encountered with the refund, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this process may have caused. We are committed to ensuring transparent and prompt financial dealings and would like to assure you that this matter is being taken seriously. We are also deeply concerned about your comments on the courtesy of our staff. Our team is trained to provide only the most respectful and professional service, and it is troubling to hear that we fell short in this regard. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we have taken it on board with the utmost seriousness. Furthermore, we regret that the cleanliness and presentation of our hotel did not live up to the high standards we set for ourselves. Our commitment to maintaining a pristine environment is unwavering, and any deviation from this is truly out of the ordinary. Lastly, we are disappointed to hear your remarks concerning the breakfast offering. Our aim is always to provide a varied and quality selection to ensure a delightful start to the day for our guests. We are sorry if we did not meet your expectations in this aspect and have noted your comments regarding the cereal with great concern. We hope that you will return in the future for a more enjoyable stay. Kindest regards, Janic Kramm, Director of Rooms

Closed pool, closed bar and restaurant due to private event. You have to pay for eggs on the reception as well as well for the coffee or fresh mint tea. Amex building with Old used rooms. Not recommend at all

I stayed one night at this luxury hotel to test it and come back with my partner or family. And I won’t. Too many issues, unacceptable for the price and expected level of this hotel.
First, if you book a Premium room, it is quite basic. You have to go Deluxe or more for a recently refurbished room. Mine was on the ground floor, old style, with no electric plugs but the bed, and no curtains in the bathroom. The bicycle for rent at 20€ rate per day was not cleaned before being allocated to me. In the spa, there was no one to be reached at 9am to manage lights being off and an old apple core left in a locker … Bad impressions.

Dear Philhellich, Thank you for your feedback, We are genuinely disheartened to hear that your stay did not meet the high standards we strive to uphold. Our Premium rooms, each with their own unique charm, are usually met with great appreciation for their historic elegance. We regret to hear of your concerns regarding the room amenities and take note of your comments on the plug availability and bathroom setup. Our aim is always to ensure that every guest enjoys a comfortable and luxurious stay, and we feel saddened that we did not achieve this for you. Regarding the bicycle preparedness and the spa facilities, we hold ourselves to very high standards of cleanliness and service, and it is apparent in this instance, we did not reach those levels. We extend our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. We are proud of our beautiful garden views and serene spa area that many of our guests find delightful, and we are sorry that you were unable to experience these aspects of our hotel to their fullest. We hope to welcome you again in the future. Best wishes, Janic Kramm, Director of Rooms

A brilliant hotel that manages to offer the highest service together with a retention of a family atmosphere. The teams from housekeeping to front desk service are second to none. All members of my family and business would always choose Patrick Hellmmann's Schloss Hotel over anything else in Berlin.

The Schlosshotel in Grunewald is a lovely hotel in Berlin.

Especially during the Pre-Christmas season.

A fireplace bar where you can enjoy a glass of Rioja Crianza after visits to the Christmas Market is an unforgettable pleasure.

Everything else, from rooms to cuisine and service, is of such high quality that it can all be summed up in one word: excellent!

The Schloss itself is amazing in architectural impressiveness. It has a warm feel to it as soon as you enter it's luxurious interiors. The food is good though the breakfast offering outstanding. The cocktail bar was a must go to every evening with perfect mixes and selections. Finally the staff who made our stay so memorable, everyone keen to ensure our needs were met with grace and alacrity. Special mention must be made of Levon and Yaroslava both of whom went beyond our expectations and are a credit to themselves and the Company. A unique hotel for discerning travellers who don't want the usual hotel chain experience. Highly recommended.

Dear Barry B, as Sunnylou0607 has stated it already: from our property it is just a short cab ride to one of the most exciting shopping areas in town, the Kurfürstendamm at City West. Besides that public transportation is nearby, too. There is a bus stop just around the block as well as a station for the S train within a less than 10min walking distance. If there are further questions please don´t hesitate to get in contact with us at any time. With best regards from Berlin, Your team of the PATRICK HELLMANN SCHLOSSHOTEL

Well, I think this is a very unprofessional and not honest statement!!!! I know this unique Schlosshotel since years, and the majority of the employees. Talking about the long staff. They all do a great job & they are more than professional in their job. So in my eyes, this statement is absolutely ridiculous Mister. Kindest Regards Schlosshotel guest since years
