My fiancé and I saw this hotel on a previous trip advisor post and couldn't pass it up. The aquarium view from the rooms and central location to Berlin attractions made it all the more worth it. Hotel bar and restaurant are also quite exceptional...More

Staff was friendly and helpful during check-in. Room was spacious and clean and concierge was always very helpful with directions and tour arrangements. A broad selection at breakfast with attentive service. I would certainly recommend to anyone traveling to Berlin.

It's a big, modern hotel located in the centre of Berlin. Nice, friednly staff; good location; spacious (quiet!) rooms and very (yes!) good breakfasts are to me the main advantages.
The two main problems were: (1) Uncomfortable beds -- old and used, or just cheap?...More

We spotted quite a good deal here - it was 4 nights for around £350 room only. Definitely worth that kind of price. The location is unmatched - you are right in the heart of Mitte, the old East Berlin, next to the Berliner Dom...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given

way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
From Tegel airport, take the TXL bus to Spandauer Strasse/Marienkirche (20 to 30 minutes ride, no need to change bus). Cross the street an walk back in the direction you came from for about 300 meters.
Taxis are readily available, not sure about shuttles. We got the train from schonenfield airport to Alexanderplatz station which was 1 straight train and a little walk and it only cost about €3.50 each way!
