Spacious, cleanliness ok. Staff helpful when pushed...they didn't always seem to understand what we were saying? It was ok for sleeping in, extremely quiet in fact, but you could only get coffee/tea at breakfast and that needs to change! Good shower, water hot. Breakfast was a strange assortment but again, ok. Love Germany but some of the locals can be...

Hotel is located in an okay area beside the Jewish museum. Hotel is very very basic, no comfort really but reasonably clean. The staff are a different issue altogether, completely rude (especially breakfast staff), on the last day we met an okay older woman who was on the reception desk but all other reception staff were at unhelpful as they...

Stayed here with my wife from Sunday 16 to weds 19 October. Not too difficult to find. We were offered a room on either the 5th or ground floor. We took the latter as there is no lift between 4-5 floor. Looks a bit like an DDR barracks on the inside. Rooms were spacious, but that's about it. Only on...

Decent hotel, 10 minutes walk from Checkpoint Charlie, underground station close-by, room was clean and staff were friendly. Only downside is that there's not much else around the hotel though don't let this put you off.

Over priced for the quality of hotel, it's very old looking and has a strange atmosphere. Could easily be made more modern with a lick of paint and abit of upcycling, as the building has potential. The breakfast was decent, but would have been good to have a kettle in the room. Toilet was really nice. Staff seemed okay, but...

Smiling, helpful personnel. Big and clean rooms. Clean bathroom. Easy access to WiFi which has good speed. Simple, but tasty breakfast. The Hotel is close to Checkpoint Charlie & Wall museum. Plenty of restaurants and bistros might be reached by walk. The Hotel doesn't have its own parking, but propose the parking ticket for using at public parkings around. The...

The listed amenities & the location of the hotel ticked all the boxes for us so we booked. In reality it did not meet our expectation. Grossly overpriced for the facilities it provided. VERY BASIC but not cheap. Breakfast was good. Thus the 1 star.

Cannot understand all the negative reviews. Located five minutes from Alexanderplatz which has all public transport required and it is clean and dry. Yes it's basic but for the price what do you expect? Breakfast was not a huge choice but it was nice. More choice than you would have in the average home I suspect. Found the staff to...

Received the confirmation, etc. Upon arrival the staff member notified us that the booking had not come through properly (whilst acknolodging that we received the confirmation and the blaim was on them) and no 4 persons room was available. Instead he got us one 2 persons room and 2 1...

Stayed here for 3 nights with 2 others, the room was fine, nothing special but clean and big, had a fan and the bathroom was great. Basic but it was budget so all good. The staff were strange and quite rude - not horrible but just obviously not interested, bit weird really! Breakfast was great. The location is conveniently close...

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Kreuzberg
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
